Review #1, by nott theodore Life is good

CTF Jailbreak Review

Hello! I'm so glad that I get to read some more of your writing!

You know, I honestly would never have thought to put two characters like Molly Weasley and Andromeda Tonks together as a couple, but of course you did and of course it works, because you're the one who's writing it and your writing is wonderful!

I love how short and sweet this is. It made me smile so much to think that the two of them have found each other and managed to find happiness again, since I'm assuming that Molly has been widowed and they're both looking for someone else to spend their days with. The fact that they've now been married four years is so cute, and I'm just smiling so much because they've got someone else and they're not alone.

I think the length of this story did a lot for it, too. I know you tend to write shorter pieces anyway, but I love the way that this lets you fill in the gaps yourself - it's years since we saw these characters in canon and so it's great to see them together here and imagine what's happened in the meantime.

I loved the two of them going to a pride event, too, and the young girl coming up to ask them how old they are. It emphasises the sense of community there, and the belonging and acceptance, which is lovely.

Sian :)

Review #2, by lovegood27 Life is good

23rd February 2017:
Hello! I thought it was about time I got to reading some of your stories ;)

So I actually really enjoyed reading this. I don't read that many femslash fics but I liked this story a lot. One of my favourite things about it was how you still stuck to canon and mentioned how they were together because they were now both widows and actually addresse the fact that they'd had husbands. This is an unusual pairing but you made it work.

I loved Andromeda and Molly! They weren't overly romantic but they were still clearly in love with each other and it was just so adorable. Also the fact that they were now rather old but still had some romance in their lives. It's not something I see often and it was interesting to read about.

I'm curious as to how Molly and Andromeda came to be together. They never make much contact together in the books and it leaves the reader wondering. Still, I suppose it's nice to leave some imagination up to ourselves :)

Anyway, great story! I liked it :D

Review #3, by MuggleMaybe Life is good

Hi Kappa! I'm here reviewing challenge entries. (Finally!)

This was one of the more challenging pairings on my list, in my opinion, and I'm really pleased you decided to run with it!

I think it's really cool that you decided to set this at a Pride celebration. :) Romance with older characters is sadly uncommon, so that was nice to see.

The characterization of Molly who "has never stopped loving anyone" is WONDERFUL. I adore Molly, and that is such a perfect statement of one of her best traits. Also, it's powerful coming from Andromeda, who presumably stopped loving (and certainly stopped being loved by) her family when she married Ted.

This is a beautifully captured moment. Thank you for entering this fic in the challenge!

xoxo Renee

Author's Response: Hello, Renee!

Thank you so much for this review, and for holding the challenge that inspired this story!

And compared to me, your "Finally!" is definitely unnecessary - I'm way, way later with this reply than your were with your review!

Writing Molly/Andromeda was certainly a little trickier than writing most pairings, hehehe... When you assigned me the pairing I didn't think I'd be able to do it at first, but then I got this image in my head of them as little old ladies at Pride, and I knew I had to write it! As you say, romance with older characters is rare, but old people deserve love too! : )

I was very pleased with myself when I came up with the line about Molly never having stopped loving anyone, so I'm super glad that it stood out to you and you liked it too! And yeah, you're right, that is extra powerful coming from Andromeda, with her complicated background...

Thanks again for this lovely review!
