Hello lovely!

You mentioned that you also had entered the tis the season challenge and I'm sitting here missing Christmas even though it's only April. There's just something magical about that time of year!

I knew immediately that my heart was going to ache after reading this. Remus must know that no matter what terms he last saw Harry, Harry loves him. Remus must let himself smile more often. He deserves it.

If it weren't for the political climate, James would have been an excellent lawyer: "No, I said I wouldn’t show anyone the pictures." That was hilarious.

"Lily only allowed me to do this if I was involved somehow and was just as humiliated." That is a healthy, wonderful relationship. Goals, really.

A werewolf in a Santa costume with a real reindeer. Oh my goodness. That's worth the picture 100%. Where in the world did you even come up with the idea? That's amazing.

Thank you for breaking my heart with the last Christmas. I hate so much that both Remus and Tonks died. There was no need for me to have to feel that kind of pain. Here it is all over again. At least Teddy was so loved though.

Overall, absolutely lovely story! It has all the good trimmings of a sweet Christmas story. I loved your characterization of all of the marauders. They were just spot on with how I imagine them!

Author's Response: I'm so sorry I had to break your heart... I broke my heart too.

Werewolf Santa was created a few years ago actually in a crazy conversation with Mike (Mihali.. I think that's how you spell it). I've kinda had a vision of James as one of Santa's reindeer and wondered how to recreate that idea and came up with that. It was a great way to get Remus to do something ridiculous by roping him in with "but it's Harry's first Christmas!" excuse lol.

I'm so glad you liked James and Lily's relationship, I've always had a picture that she's very mischievous too, but he always gets the better of her lol.

I always get so happy when people like my characterizations, so yay!

Thank you so much for reading and reviewing :D

Hey Heather!

I'm here for the Gryffindor Review Battle! Go Team Red!!

Let me start by saying that this is absolutely, hands down my favorite thing that you've written so far. Truly, you've done an excellent job here.

You really nailed the dynamic between the Marauders. Sirius and James being playful and Remus being the skeptic worked great and I love how you showed that each of their relationships with Harry were different. Sirius just wants to do the fun stuff, but not have the responsibility. James is head over heels and Remus is a bit more reserved and takes a while to warm up. It really fit each of their characters well.

I also love that James and Sirius came up with such a irresponsible, but hysterical idea for a Christmas photo. I can just picture Remus in a Santa suit as a werewolf and James as rudolph. It's such a hilarious image.

It was nice to see them taking things responsibly after the picture was shot though because obviously a live werewolf could be quite dangerous in a small village. It is pretty sad though that Remus had to be locked in a shed on Christmas night.

And finally, I really enjoyed how you ended this with Harry getting a chance to see the picture. It was a really tender moment and you captured both the grief and the joy so well.

I know you know that I usually leave a bit of CC, but in this case, I really don't have any. Good work! Thanks for sharing such a sweet story.

Author's Response: HUGE SMILES!!
So glad you enjoyed this. I hadn't written in Remus' POV yet and I honestly wasn't really planning to, but I really couldn't think who else it could have been. Out of all the characters in the HP universe I was nervous writing him. He's such a deep character that we don't get to see very often, but you know is going through such turmoil all the time, it seems.

Also, I have to point out that it isn't actually Christmas night here, but a few days before. I wrote this in when I found out that the last full moon on Christmas was in '77 and since Harry isn't born until '80 I had to look up when the full moon was that year. I may have to make that a little clearer in the story. So rest assured that Remus at least doesn't have to be in a shed Christmas eve.

The ending was so bittersweet, I loved it too.
Thank you! I'm so glad you loved it :D

Review #3, by Marshal Harry's First Christmas

I liked this story. It was good and sweet. Interesting idea to say the least. It was a jolly romp with the Marauders before the end. I can just imagine the picture that was taken. Thank you for a lovely little Christmas story and entering my challenge. You really did do a lovely job here - and I'm sorry it took me so long to get to read it and review. I was hoping to have been done last week but things kept piling. I hope to have things judged really soon.

Author's Response: Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. I'll have to get a banner for it at some point. It's ok that it took a while, there were a lot of entries! I will certainly keep an eye out for the results though.
I think I came up with the idea from/with Mihali (Mike) on the forums. It was also elaborated upon with my fiance, so it was a story I'd been wanting to write for a while. I'm glad I got to do it :)

Hello! I'm here for our swap!

This is so funny! Oh my god. I don't know why more Marauders stories don't take advantage of the fact that you can get into all sorts of shenanigans with those animgauses. That picture! Oh my god, I'm laughing so hard at the thought of that!

I'm so happy that it brought so much joy to so many people. First Lily, James, Sirius, and Remus. Then Tonks and Andromeda, and finally Harry and hopefully, eventually Teddy.

But really, when James and Sirius described the idea - a werewolf dressed as santa with Rudolph, I let out the most unbecoming giggle.

Thanks for sharing this fun Christmas story!

Author's Response: I am laughing so hard with Triumph!! :D That is so great! What I always want to do with my stories is bring laughter and emotion to readers and bring out the characters best (and sometimes worst) qualities. I'm so happy you liked it! I will certainly read your Christmas stories too and we can keep this lovely swap going if you want :D
Thanks again,

Review #6, by looneylizzie Harry's First Christmas

15th December 2015:
Hey Heather!!

I thought I’d stop by and leave a review on this little story before reading the one your mother wrote that you posted yesterday. Why? Because I’ve just realized that I haven’t reviewed any of your stories yet! *hangs head in shame*

This obviously needed to be fixed ASAP. :D

Anyway, this story is amazing! What a way to be introduced to your writing!!

In the backyard of the Potter’s home an argument brewed like a freshly made potion. — Wow! That’s an incredible description! I love that! All of the descriptions in this story are just amazing. I’m kinda jealous, to be honest. I’ve never been that good at descriptions…

Oh man. SO MANY FEELS! This story is really, truly, phenomenal!

The mental image of what that picture might look like is quite hilarious. That’s one that will stay with me for a long time!!

And then you’ve got this adorable little moment with Remus and Harry… AWE!! I just want to hug him. And Harry. And you, for that matter. HOW did you manage to come up with this? Can I steal your muse? :P

I like that the picture managed to survive all those years. That Remus held onto it and fully intended to show it to Harry when he could. There just wasn’t ever the right time for it, which is heartbreaking. But I’m glad Andromeda held on to it and showed Harry. It’s the sort of moment that I feel like Harry should really know about.

Seeing James as a parent totally cracks me up. Because he’s clearly a caring and wonderful father, but he hasn’t lost that Marauder’s streak that he was so well known for. I love how well you’ve written him there. That he’s changed by becoming a parent, but he hasn’t at the same time.

Also — “Just remember Remus, this heart is where you truly live, this heart, right here!”

I hate you for that.

Just kidding. I absolutely love you, but that just ripped my heart out.
(Which is ironic, considering the quote…)

Sorry, I'm rambling. I'll stop now...

Anyway, thank you for writing this PHENOMENAL story, Heather! I really, really enjoyed it and am certainly looking forward to reading more!

Keep writing!

Author's Response: You really made me tear up, I just... wow. I really can't describe how much I appreciate this review. I think I need to give that quote credit, I forgot to mention it in the disclaimer.
I got the idea about a year or two ago, thanks to Marshal's challenge I had to do it this year.
It's one of those times I'm sorry it ripped out your heart (and yes, that's quite ironic lol) That was actually a last minute thought, I didn't plan that lol.\
Again, I can't thank you enough for this I love you too.
