4th May 2012:
YOU GOT THE DATES WRONG!! if they were murdered before her TWENTIETH birthday how is it that she would have turned TEN that year

Author's Response: NOPE the dates are CORRECT!! Professor McGonagall was born on 4th of October 1925 according to hp lexicon...her parents died in September 1945 making her almost TWENTY(in my story)!
REMEMBER this story was set in Harry, Ron and Hermione's school years, specifically 1995, not present day...that makes the dates 100% CORRECT.

Hehe - this is actually really cute. A little sad, but it actually works, we know nothing of McGonagall so it's kind of cool that you made a background for her. I liked it alot!

Author's Response: Hey thank you, I got it for a story challenge and this is what I came up with, so I am really glad you like it.

Thank you for reviewing :D

very nice but so sad. It is also an idea of why Professor McGonagall hardly smiles.

Author's Response: That's what I was going for, I am glad you like it.

Thanks again for reviewing.

19th August 2010:
REVIEWING: "THE BIRTHDAY CHALLENGE" ENTRY

First off, sorry for only getting around to reading your challenge entry now, but lots was going on and I completely forgot about the deadline I had set for myself!
Hoping that you would forgive me, I shall move on :-)

I like the idea of Minerva treating her birthday as a kind of personal memorial day. Dealing with a family tragedy on her birthday, dealing with it alone for the past x years, is a very difficult thing and would explain why she grew so hard and resilient over the years.

What I don't like is the idea of students throwing a party for her and the way they went about it. Why not get the food from the Kitchens? Why would Dumbledore say "room 277" instead of "the empty classroom on the third floor, next to the statue of Euzebie de Euburry" or something? It sounds... American, not very HP.

The winners of this challenge will be posted on my blog on the forums tomorrow.

Thanks!

Adrielne

Author's Response: Awk I'm sorry you didn't like the ending, Room 277 was just a random number I thought of.

Thanks for the review anyway

Aww.. But With the dates her father would have been 49 and not 45 when he died :)

Author's Response: Actually I counted it and he was 50, so I changed it, I had gotten her mother's date wrong.

Thanks for the review :)
