It's been years since the downfall of Voldemort, and Hermione is living in the U.S. in California, and is an actress. She has her own stalker. Fudge comes and offers her some magical help, which she declines. After a few months, she realizes that the threat is not a muggle problem, but a magical one, so she writes to Fudge and asks for his help. He wakes her in the middle of the night with her protection, and when she finds out who her body guards are, she is not very happy, at first.
