Some of the suspicious dark artifacts that the Ministry needed help with unravelling, had been handed over to Dumbledore. By the looks of it, this didn't seem to have anything to do with Dark Magic at all. The book was bound though, and none of the aurors could get it open, therefore it made it suspicious.
