Nights were colder now. When she was still a girl, she remembered the warmth she would feel, even in the middle of winter, when lying in her bed underneath piles of blankets. Thinking about those times now, she would tell herself not to idealize the past, that there were some bad times, as well as good. Her childhood was hardly perfect.
