This was my entry for the Harry Potter Fanfiction contest on Figment. I believe that is a contest here too, but I do not mean to enter it.
This is my version of Fawkes', Dumbeldore's phoenix, origins. Please do not yell at me for getting facts wrong, I did my best to make this fit with the original story.
Also, this originated as a short story, but I have had people ask me to continue it, so I will label it as a "work in progress". I may add more scenes, in which Fawkes meets Voldemort, Fawkes meets Harry, and so on.
