Harry takes a sabbatical to America for work to get away from all these memories that haunt him. Four and a half years later, he feels obligated to go home and finds so much more awaiting him. Friends, family and the Ministry have changed dramatically. Clinging tight to what he has left (which isn't much anymore), he begins to find that the changes at the Ministry aren't what they seem.
Harry/Hermione eventually, bear with me here. This is my first attempt at fanfiction, so please R&R, and *real* criticism is welcome.
