He never seems bothered by the fact that Lily always said no, this made Lily believe that he was too proud to give up the chase. The endless asking out had turned Lily against James. She didn’t hate him at first but… well let’s just say she’d rather kiss the giant squid now. Until the year actually came and she found that her time with Potter wasn't over yet..
