No one warns you of expectations. As I walked onto the platform for the first time in 11 years, I realized that my life had been inadvertently ruled by them. The ever crowding spaces of my mind stared straight ahead at the one man I had loved, the one that I had lost. My story is unlike that of my ancestors or the generation before me. Their fates had played out like a clichéd movie, filled with hope and dreams, each ending in the happiness that they no doubt deserved.
