The elements around her vibrated viciously, and she could feel the ground beneath her shift, throbbing against her overwhelming magick. The room seemed to tilt, and thick vapor tendrils erupted from the four compass points, twisting and intertwining like serpents. Her body became rigid, her lungs collapsing and her heart slowing dangerously. Pain shot through her every nerve, her every cell, and as she opened her mouth to scream, the fog-like substance crawled down her throat. All at once, the magic came to a halt.
