As she lay dying with the heartbreak leaking out of her onto the cold linoleum floor, nobody wondered the cause of her absence at school. No friend nervously knocked on her front door as she marked the pain she felt, carving her heartache into her own flesh, her only known barrier. Her glassy brown eyes were empty of any emotion, not even relief or fear. The warmth leaked out of her lifeless body, down her limp hands and off of her fingertips. And all of her worries dripped onto the hard bathroom floor. And as she lay limp, her heartbeat slowly diminishing, all she felt was release.
