The story is set 500 years before the events of the novels, and contains only Dumbledore and Nicholas Flamel as characters that would be recognizable. The focal character is named Seamus Bittlesworth, a student of hogwarts who longs to be a teacher, but also has disturbing visions that happen to come true. Now, this is set in the day when divination was not yet an accepted branch of magic, and so Seamus is shunned as a lunatic by all except Dumbledore, who invites him to become keeper of the grounds at hogwarts.
