Before the Potters go into hiding, Dumbledore tells Lily that Snape was the one who tipped them off to Voldemort’s intention to kill her family. As a last request, Lily asks that Harry spend time growing up under Snape should anything happen to them. Both Harry and Snape help each other heal old wounds and move on with life.
