When Regulus offers up his House Elf for a mission for The Dark Lord, he tries to get out of it. Without the help of his cousins, Regulus cannot go back on his word, and his loyal service presents him with a gift, but Regulus isn't sure it's a gift he wants.

He closed his eyes and rested his head. It had been months since he’d slept properly. Always waking in the middle of the night, worried that his mark would burn, or he’d be killed in his sleep if he was discovered.

In all honesty, he was surprised he hadn’t yet gone insane. He could still remember names and dates, surely if he’d lost his mind those details would have filtered out by now. He wasn’t sure, having never met a truly insane person. He giggled to himself, a high nervous giggle that rattled around the room like one of the Gringott’s vault carts, maybe Dumbledore slightly counted on some respect. If only they’d make me insane, he thought dully, maybe I’d be smarter.

Barty smirked beneath his mask, and gripped his wand more tightly. Adrenaline pumped through his veins, he suddenly felt, with the support of his Master, he could do anything.
"Crucio!" Screams drenched the air, dripping onto every Death Eater, who watched in reverent glee.

Falling into an immediate low bow, Bellatrix raised her eyes to look at the cold face of her master. With a small movement of his hand, she stood straight again, approaching him like an old friend. He smirked at her, his red eyes piercing her.

He wasn’t entirely sure if the information he had for the Headmaster was important, but he had sworn to deliver all information he discovered through the Death Eaters, and this was definitely that.

Just as Albus is sending off James and Remus to look for Sirius, he receives word from the Ministry that Lucius Malfoy has been arrested. So, going to London he seeks a meeting with Lucius to try to gain information on how to bring the Dark Lord down.

“James?” Lily whispered. “James, is that you?”

“Who bloody else would it be?” He asked; tugging the Invisibility Cloak out from under the two men still sprawled on the floor, one sprouting a rather nice set of antlers. From the way the other man was squirming and flailing around, the antlers were prodding him in a rather painful place.

A week after Sirius and Remus's fight, Remus is wallowing at home when he gets not one, but three unexpected visitors. And one of them wants Sirius to do something he will not like.
