As you know, this is the sequal to my first fanfic 'An Auror's Love'. If you hadn't read it, go read it. And to those how are my regulars, I have edited the ending. So if I were you I would go read it and leave me review to tell me if it was better than my last one.
Enjoy,

Battle of the Heart
Ch. 1 Foreign Affairs
Tom Collman sat behind his desk, admiring his new office, at the Auror Department in Eugene, Oregon, the capital of the U.S. wizarding world. Headquarters had recently moved into a separate building and out of the Ministry's. The new building was more spacious than the last where they had only half of the third wing of the building. Now they had a whole three story building just for the Auror Department.
The Auror Department had grown rapidly over the past few years. More offices were needed for the workers and the training rooms were so crammed and poorly equipped for the amount of people, that it was insufficient. It was a relief for everyone who worked there when it was announced in September of 2004.
It was now early December and everyone was moved into their new offices.
Tom Collman patted his oak desk with a smile on his face. He ran his finger along the grain of the wood as a knock sounded at the door. "Come in," Collman sang in happiness, nothing could break his mood.
The door opened slowly before a head full of red hair popped in. "Ah, Mea! Come sit!"
The girl smiled warmly and sat down in the leather chair, across from Collman. "Hello Tom. You look happy today."
"That's because I am"
Mea Andrews raised an eyebrow. "Do I need to go ahead and ask why?" Tom nodded. "Okay, why are you so happy today?" she asked.
Tom sat back in his chair and waved his arms about the room. "I'm happy because we finally have this. Now we can work at our full potential! Those fools need to know who's boss!" Tom's ego was overflowing.
"Aren't we already the best?" Mea asked. Sure, she sounded arrogant, but it was the truth. America had jumped to the lead in the ranking, past England and China, four years ago when Mea joined the team. She had gone to train to become an auror in England before coming back home to defend her country.
Mea didn't talk much about what had happened in England. In fact she had managed to put it in the back of her mind and forget.
"We are only the best because we have the best of the best." He smiled at Mea with a knowing look. "Anyway, what is it that you want to talk about?"
Mea straightened up in her chair and put her hands in her lap. "Everything’s ready for the foreign aurors when they arrive tomorrow morning."
"Sleeping arrangements?"
"Yep. Steven took care of that the other day. All twelve are staying with people who are also working on the DoC assignment."
Tom stood up, with his hands in his pockets. "Remember to tell your crew that we have to leave a good impression. We can't have them going back to where they came from telling everyone that America was a fraud."
"I'll remind them Tom, but you do have to realize that making a good impression isn't what we are shooting for. Our goal is to get rid of the DoC."
Tom smiled. "I knew I could count on you. You are the perfect woman for this job."
Mea smiled back before leaving. She had a lot on her hands. She had been organizing this assignment with foreign countries for months. It was hard trying to get a hold of the four countries that were involved in the Defenders of the Chastity Organization. All the countries claimed that it wasn't their responsibility to deal with it, expecting America to take care of it, but truth was, America couldn’t' do it on their own
The Defenders of the Chastity (DoC) were a group that originally formed in England who killed off muggle-borns, muggles, and 'half-breeds' as they called them. It wasn't until a year ago that they started spreading around the world, causing havoc in many countries. The countries that were affected the most were England, France, America, and Canada. The only one that took action as soon as it hit her borders was America, but the organization had hit hard and successfully penetrated the U.S., like so many muggles did before them to sell illegal goods.
The Ministry had panicked when people started killing. Civilians started to think Voldemort (people spoke his name freely now) had returned, or his offspring had come back to avenge their father, but that rumor was quickly done away with since Voldemort had no children.
The DoC had a different way of going about the destruction of people with muggle blood. Where Voldemort would kill muggle lovers too, the DoC didn't. They found it "unethical" to kill a pure-blood, though killing everyone else was okay in thier eyes. The DoC also indoctrinated the children when ever they would get their hands on them, thinking the children were the key to the future.
Once the DoC had moved their headquarters into America, Mea came up with this idea to contact other countries to come together and to defeat the DoC. With all the information each country had covering the DoC; the job would be a lot easier.
Mea walked into her house, arriving late from work. She had to do last minute check-ups, making sure things were in place for when the foreigners arrived the next morning.
She put her purse down on the table and draped her coat over the chair. The house was unusually quiet. Normally there was some sort of music playing or the TV would be on, but they were both turned off. "Hello?" Mea called out. No-one answered.
Mea kicked off her shoes before walking out of the kitchen. "Hello?" She walked down the hall looking in the bathroom and made her way toward the back of the hallway where her room was. She cracked the last door opened and called out again.
Peeking into the room, she saw a lhuge ump under the blankets of her bed, covered in dark blue. Mea smiled before stepping into the room. Slow breathing could be heard coming from underneath the comforter as it slowly moved with the rhythm of the persons breathing.
"Boo!" Mea screamed, hitting the lump quickly, but to Mea’s surprise it didn't move. "Boo?" she asked softly, reaching to lift up the edge of the blanket.
"What are you doing?" the voice from under the covers asked in a calm and casual ton, scaring the living daylights out of Mea.
Mea jumped back, her hand over her chest. "Don't scare me like that, Steven!" she yelled at the man who was climbing out from under the covers.
"So, now wait just a minute, you can scare me, but I can't scare you?" Steven asked as he sat up on the bed.
"Yes! I had an excuse!" she protested.
"Oh really now? And what might that be?"
"I was just going to ask if you wanted any dinner. I just got home so I’m really hungry."
Steven thought about this while he rubbed his chin. "I am hungry and it is your turn to cook." Mea rolled her eyes and gave him a glare. "Okay, I guess you can cook me something to eat."
Mea nodded and walked out of the room, headed for the kitchen. Always, after a long day at work, she would make a pot of macaroni. It was one of her favorite meals.
"Is it ready?" Steven asked a half our later.
"Yes, so set the table for us." Steven did as he was told and gathered two napkins and two forks and started setting the table. "Could you also get me a glass of water?"
"Fine," he breathed, getting back up from the chair he was sitting in. "You're so lazy," he muttered.
"I'm not lazy. I'm cooking you dinner I'm I not?"
He smiled and put the glass of cold water on the counter. "We should just forget about dinner," he murmured walking up and wrapping his arms around he waist.
Mea glanced at the finished meal. "But it looks so good," she said, still looking longingly at the food.
"But we don't know how long it will be until we have the house to ourselves again..." he murmured, kissing her earlobe.” And don't you think my idea is so much better?" he asked, turning her around kissing her chin. She giggled as she gave him a gentle kiss on the lips.
"So, you like my suggestion?" Steven asked through the kiss.
"Oh, yes..." she muttered, looking down at his lips again before plunging in to capture them.
Steven smiled against her lips, wrapping her legs around his waist. She didn't complain about her position as he carried her to their bedroom, she was too caught up in the kissing.
"I love you," Steven mumbled through the kiss.
"I know, I love you too."
