“I hate train rides,” Basil admitted.
“What are you talking about man?! Train rides are fun!” Oliver said dancing about like a wild man. They walked through the barrier between platforms 9 and 10. Soon they were walking towards the train.
“Looking good, Venilia!” Seamus Finnigan called to her. She just raised her hand above her and flipped him off. “Feisty, I like it!” He called after her. Basil and Oliver turned when they heard Seamus’ response.
“You better watch it Finnigan!” Basil called to him.
“Come one Basil just ignore him,” Tris pleaded pulling him along. He looked down at her and turned as she pulled him. Oliver did the same but only after Basil told him to.
“I hate that guy,” Oliver said as they walked down the train.
“That makes two of us,” Tris muttered to him. They finally found an empty compartment in the back of the train. Basil sat down and Tris put her head in his lap. He draped his cloak over her.
"Keeping up the tradition," Oliver pointed out. Tris smiled and Basil twirled her red locks with his fingers. "Can I beat up Seamus Finnigan?" Oliver asked after awhile of silence as the train started to pull out of the station.
"No, because he’s kind of related to me and the family wouldn’t be happy if I let one of my friends beat him up," Quinn muttered. Oliver sat back and pouted. Usually everyone thought that Hufflepuffs were quiet and shy. That's why most of the teachers at Hogwarts thought that this group was meant for some other house. They were just put in Hufflepuff because there was no where else to put them. Plus their loyalty to each other gave them the qualities for all the other houses. Loyalty is what brought them together. The compartment door slid open and Draco Malfoy stood in the open door.
"Hey Malfoy! Tris called tiredly.
"Hey Venilia," he called back. They were decent to each other after finding out that their parents were friends from way back. "Can I sit here? Everywhere else is full," he asked. Tris looked at her group of friends and they all nodded. Tris lifted her feet from the seat so he could sit down. He let out a laugh when as soon as he sat down she put her feet exactly where they had been. "What did you guys do all summer?" He asked curiously.
"Hung out at whoever's house the parents weren't the grouchiest which was mostly mine because mom had to work all summer," Basil said. Tris gave a snort of laughter.
"But your sister was bloody annoying," Tris commented.
"Yes, well," Basil said grinning down at his best friend. "How about you?" Basil asked looking over at Draco.
"Nothing," Draco muttered miserably. "I was made prefect. I went to the Island and then I went to Adrian Montague's house the last couple of months but I have no idea where he even went." Everyone nodded. As if on cue the compartment door slid open and Adrian Montague stood in the doorway. Quinn sighed dreamily causing Oliver to give her a look that said you did that out loud. Quinn turned bright red as Adrian smiled over at her. Adrian Montague was cute. He had light brown hair with hazel eyes that made you want to look in them forever.
"What's up Hufflepuffs?!" Adrian said walking in and plopping down on the floor.
"Must you always be so happy?" Tris groaned.
"That's not typical Hufflepuff commentary," Adrian pointed out grinning at her. For the third time that day she flipped someone off.
"Yes please," Adrian begged smirking at her. Tris rolled her eyes and pulled Basil's cloak higher over her exposed body. "So what are you guys going to do about Quidditch this year?" Adrian asked them.
"Find a new seeker," Quinn muttered sadly. Tris turned over again hiding her sadness. Cedric Diggory had been a hero for everyone in Hufflepuff. He was a prefect, their seeker, and the Hogwarts champion. He was one person who proved something good could come out of every house.
"I'm sorry I didn't…" Adrian muttered sympathetically.
"It's all right man," Oliver said. "You didn't know." Adrian nodded and went silent for the first time.
“Anything off the trolley, dears?” the plump witch that pushed the trolley asked.
“Yes,” Tris said pulling out her bag of gold. Basil, Quinn, Draco, and Adrian all pulled out their money too.
“I got this,” Draco said paying for everyone’s things.
“You don’t have to,” Tris said trying to give him her money. He pushed her hand away.
“I want to,” he said sitting back down. Tris shrugged and nodded.
“I’m bored,” Oliver muttered. “Isn’t there anyone we can terrorize?”
“Finnigan?” Basil suggested.
“What did I tell you?” Quinn asked them both turning there smiles into frowns.
“Damn,” Oliver said.
“What do you guys have against Finnigan?” Draco asked grinning evilly.
“We just don’t like him with the exception of Quinn because it’s her cousin,” Oliver said. Draco’s evil grin didn’t leave his face. “I’d like to stick tiny pins in his eyes so he can’t even look at my Trissie anymore.” Tris rolled her eyes and sighed.
“You really aren’t meant for Hufflepuff,” Adrian commented. “Seriously, you lot should be in Slytherin. You’re just… well… evil.” The four laughed and Draco and Adrian joined in.
“You know I think you’re right,” Quinn said. “WE are evil. Remember in 3rd year we wanted to get Fred and George Weasley back for dying Oliver’s hair purple? Oh great times,” Quinn said laughing.
“What did you guys do?” Adrian asked interested.
“You guys?” Basil asked. “No this one was all the girls,” pointing accusingly at the two girls who were smirking evilly at each other. Draco and Adrian turned to them.
“Let’s just say it made riding a broom a little difficult for them,” Tris said. “Or even sitting.” Quinn and Tris both burst out in evil laughter.
