Chapter Two : Explanations

The Gryffindor common room that night was packed. Usually on the night of arrival, people just wanted to go to sleep. Not so today. The students were wide awake and preferred to sit around the common room, chatting incessantly.

Andrea and Krysta were sitting in the corner, each in a large and overstuffed chair. Harry, Ron and a bunch of the other fifth years crowded around them.

"Andrea, Krysta," said Harry. "This is Seamus, Neville, and everyone else. They're all fifth years too."

"Nice to meet you," Andrea said, batting her eyes flirtatiously at the boys.

Andrea and Krysta had met Harry and Ron during their dinner. Sitting next to someone was always a good way to make new friends. Especially really sexy ones. The girls had sat down and calmly introduced themselves. Harry and Ron, clearly quite stunned by the arrival of the girls, stuttered over their introductions, but finally managed to get the point across. They'd been friendly enough, chatting away throughout dinner, although not about anything meaningful. Just small talk. And the beautiful young women had seemed as though they'd prefer talking about Harry and Ron than themselves.

The girls motioned for Harry and Ron to sit.

"So what are you boys up to tonight?" Krysta asked.

"We want to know about you," Ron said bluntly.

"Oh. Like what?"

"Why did you get kicked out of your old school?" Seamus asked bravely. Andrea grinned naughtily.

"Oh, you heard about that, did ya?"

"It wasn't our fault. Really," Krysta assured the fascinated boys. "We accidentally burned down the gym." A collective gasp sounded in the common room.

"But it was absolutely full of asbestos!" Andrea protested.

"Totally," agreed Krysta.

"Hey, Hermione! You were wrong! They didn't get caught sleeping with their teachers!" Ron called to his friend, who was on the other side of the common room. Hermione blushed profusely.

"Well. We didn't get *caught *," Andrea grinned at Krysta.

"What's all the commotion over here?" Fred and George pushed through the crowd of students towards Andrea and Krysta, then eyed the girls appreciatively. "Well, hello, ladies."

"Greetings," said Andrea.

"Salutations," Krysta smirked, giggling at herself.

"So how on Earth did you two vixens get stuck here in Gryffindor?" The Twins asked slyly.

"It's a long story."

"Yeah. The Sorting Hat didn't know what to do with us. It said we were screwed up. Then it tried to eat itself. It was quite a disturbing experience. It wanted Dumbledore to give us our own house, but he said no. Then he just stuck us in Gryffindor." Everyone that had crowded around the two new girls looked at them with curiosity flaring in their eyes.

"It tried to eat. itself?" Hermione asked, now joining the group around them.

"That's a new one," Fred frowned thoughtfully.

"Hmm.I think I like 'em," said George, carefully eyeing the girls.

Professor McGonagall appeared suddenly at the entrance to the common room. "I know having two such.colourful.young ladies in your house is exciting to say the least, but you have classes tomorrow. Perhaps it would be wise to retire to your dormitories." She looked pointedly at the students. They nodded and moved to the stairs. She stayed until Fred, George, Andrea and Krysta were the only ones left.

"I think we'll stay down here and have a little chat, Professor," said George.

"Alright, Mr. Weasley." She nodded and quietly exited the room. Andrea turned to the twins and grinned mischievously.

"So who do ya hex for fun around here?" Chapter Two : Explanations
