That evening Harry had gone through all his stuff and organised his new room. He had flicked through the books that Remus had provided him and was discovering really nifty charms that he could use in redecorating it.
He was now heading for a shower.
He knocked on the door at the end of the hallway, which had been occupied for the past hour.
“Wait a minute!” Came the voice from behind the door. Harry sighed.
“Come on, Tonks! You’ve been in there for an hour, some of use need to take a shower!” Harry called out. He could hear Tonks huff, because a second later the door opened.
“Alright, alright. No need to get all rhymey on me.” She said as she pushed past him. She had been in a very huffy mood that evening and Harry wondered what was going on.
Harry closed the door behind him and threw his stuff to the floor. He stood in front of the large mirror and sighed.
The scar on his forehead was covered by messy hair, but for some reason it always showed. The green eyes in the middle of his face had to be one of the only things Harry liked; they were a memory of his mother.
He moved over to the shower and turned it on.
Remus Lupin was sitting at the kitchen table, away from everyone else. He had a piece of parchment and a quill in front of his, ready to write a letter.
Harry hadn’t shown much of the eye glowing thing in the last couple of days, only a fraction on the train when he looked at Tonks.
When he was looking at her... What colour did his eyes turn...
Blue, great peril... white, healing powers... no... Green. Harry was angry at her, his eyes glowed faintly green.
Remus had to admit he did look rather scary.
Then there was that conversation outside his apartment, in their heads. Harry was the one that called on Tonks.
That was the strangest conversation he had ever had... that must have been Harry’s doing.
Remus leant back and looked at the newly written letter.
You told me to report anything show of power during his stay, and I know it is only the first day back, but this morning in the train there was a little show.
Harry was angry at Tonks and his eyes glowed green.
Then something happened when we were about to enter my apartment. We had a conversation in our heads. Harry was talking to me in my head and then he called on Tonks. I am not sure if this was a display of his power or not, but I just thought I would warn you.
Have a Merry Christmas
“Angus?” Remus called and seconds later a large eagle own came flying into the room.
“Now hello Angus, it’s good to see you again to. There will be another owl staying in the house from now on, so I want you to treat her nicely.” Remus told the owl, who hooted softly, as he folded the parchment into an envelope.
“I want you to take this to Professor Dumbledore right away.” He said and the tied the letter to the owl’s legs. “Off you go” And with that is the owl flew out an open window.
“Who was that?” Lupin turned around to see a newly showered Harry standing in the doorway.
“That was my owl, Angus.” Remus told him as he put away all his writing things. “Don’t worry, he won’t hurt a fly... or a big one that is.” He motioned to something fluttering at the window.
“Pig!” Harry exclaimed and ran over to open the window. “Is that for me?” He asked as he took the letter from the little owl’s legs.
I know I saw you this morning, but I promised I would write as well and mum wanted to tell you something.
She has invited you, Tonks and Remus over for 11:30 on Christmas day, at Grimmauld Place. Be there, or be dead!
How is Remus’s place? Is it like the Shrieking Shack? Just Joking!
Please write back ASAP
Harry smiled and looked up.
“He wants to know if your house is like the Shrieking Shack.” He exclaimed and Remus looked at his bizarrely. “No actually he wanted to tell us that we are to be their at Grimmauld place at 11:30 on Christmas... or we should be digging out grave early.” Harry said as he popped back into his room.
No Remus’s isn’t like the Shrieking Shack, it’s quite amazing actually. It has a view of the whole city and I have a king sized bed.
Anyways, back to business. 11:30 will probably be fine, but I will have to ask Tonks when she gets out of the bathroom... again. Which could probably take between three hours and two days. She has been really huffy this evening.
Guess what, this afternoon when we were about to enter the apartment Remus and I had a really strange conversation in our heads. Then I called Tonks in my head and she answered.... It was like we had this link of some sort.
I will update you on anything weird or exciting that happens, like that.
“So Harry is it 11:30 on Christmas?” Tonks asked from the doorway. Harry turned and nodded. “That will be fine.” She walked off. What had gotten into her?
Harry quickly out his quill again and wrote:
P.S. Tonks is finally out of the bathroom... 11:30 is fine!
He rolled it up and attached it to Hedwig’s leg.
“Take this to Ron.” He told her as she flew out the open window into the dark sky.
Harry walked back into the kitchen, where Remus was making some dinner. He went up to help Remus, but was pushed away by a simple levitation charm.
“Harry, you do enough cooking at the Dursley’s, sit down.” Tonks ordered him as she got up to help Remus.
“But-” He tried to get up again, but was flung into a chair. “Ow! Do you mind?” Harry asked as he rubbed the small of his back, which had collided with the wooden exterior of the chair.
“Sorry.” Tonks said and turned back to help Remus.
It was now later and the three of them were sitting at the table eating spaghetti.
“So... Harry, seeing as you can use your wand here... you want to duel later?” Remus asked. “I mean you were lucky the first time you beat me, you wont be so lucky now.” He smirked and brought another fork of spaghetti up to his mouth.
“You’re on! But not tonight. I am really tired; I think I will go to bed straight after this.” Harry sat back in his chair, pushing his bowl away from him. Suddenly his eyes glowed a strange red colour, only faintly but enough for both of the others to notice.
“Tonks watch your spaghetti bowl.” Harry said, not even looking at her. He was looking in the other direction, out into the dark city below.
About five seconds later there was a loud crash, which made Harry turn. Tonks's spaghetti bowl had fallen to the ground.
But she wasn’t worrying about that. Both Remus and Tonks were staring strangely at Harry, who just got up and cleaned away Tonks's mess.
“What was that?” Tonks asked as Harry placed her bowl into the sink and went to clean the floor.
“I have no idea. I just saw your bowl falling in my head...” Harry said as if it was nothing new. “Do you want anymore?” He asked as he motioned towards the wok.
Tonks shook her head and looked strangely at Remus, who, in turn, just shrugged.
“Goodnight.” Harry said as he made his way back to his bedroom.
