“I’m glad you like it. It’s nice to get out of the public eye. It’s hard to do this when we’re being bombarded by the press.” He said.
He leaned down and planted a gentle kiss on my lips. I smiled against his lips as I kissed him back. He was right, it is nice to be out of the public eye. It’s nice to be able to kiss my boyfriend without someone shoving a camera in our faces. We walked down the streets of muggle London, hand in hand.
“Mum was practically leaping out of her chair when I told her I was leaving. I guess she was happy to have the house to herself since Dad and Hugo aren’t home either.” I said.
My face furrowed with thought.
“Actually, now that I’m thinking about it, she’s been trying to get me out of the house lately.”
“Why would she be doing that?” My boyfriend asked.
“I have no idea.” I said with a shrug. “She been weird lately. Always so excited when everyone is gone.”
“Maybe she’s planning something special for you and Hugo?” He suggested.
“Possibly.” I said, dragging him into an adorable little coffee shop. “She just hasn’t done anything like that since we started Hogwarts. She’s always at the Ministry doing work or keeping to herself at home.”
My boyfriend placed our orders at the counter and lead me over to a quiet corner table.
“I get that. Dad is hardly ever home anymore. It’s usually just Mum and me at the Manor.” He said.
A young teenage boy brought our drinks over to us. I thanked him and focused my attention back on my boyfriend. I sipped on my tea as he drank his coffee. I stifled back a yawn. My boyfriend looked at me with a smirk on his face.
“Looks like someone is tired.” He laughed.
“Maybe just a little.” I said with a smile. “Do you think we can just head back to the house and watch some movies?”
“That sounds perfect Rose.”
“Thanks Scorpius.” I said with a smile.
We walked out of the coffee shop, searching for an abandoned alley way. Once we found one, Scorpius grabbed my hand and I felt the familiar tug of apparition. We landed in the lounge. I grasped Scorpius’s hand as we made our way up to my room.
“Baby, stop it.” I heard Mum giggle.
I stopped in my tracks, looking over at Scorpius.
“What?” He asked.
“Did you just hear my Mum?” I whispered.
“Yeah, just sounds like your Mum and Dad are in there.” He said. “I don’t really want to go into much more detail.”
I turned around and looked at the family clock at the end of the hall. It was like the one Nana Molly had except for our family. I pointed to Dad’s hand on the clock. It was still on work.
“Dad’s not here.” I hissed. “So, who is in the room with Mum?”
“I don’t know Rose, but should you really be barging in on her? What if you see something you don’t want to see?” Scorpius asked.
He was right. There could be something going on in there that I don’t want to see, but she’s been so weird lately that I want answers. I grabbed the doorknob.
“I have to know what’s going on.” I said, turning the knob.
I flung the door open and peered inside. Mum was sitting on the bed, shirtless. She quickly snatched a nearby blanket and covered it around herself. I looked over at the man in the bed. I knew it wasn’t going to be my father due from the clock, but I was really hoping to see his fiery red hair.
I did not expect to see Draco Malfoy in bed with my mother, shirtless.
“What the fuck!” Scorpius yelled. “What is going on!”
I just stood in the doorway in shock. What was my mother doing in bed with Draco Malfoy? Well, that was a dumb question to ask myself. I knew what they were doing. So many thoughts were running through my head. What was wrong with Dad? What about Hugo and I? Of all the people, why did it have to be my boyfriend’s father?
“Scorpius…” Draco called out.
“Actually, don’t say anything.” Scorpius hissed. “I don’t want to hear it.”
He dropped my hand and stormed off to my room. I stayed in the doorway, unsure of what to do. I looked back and forth between my mother and the empty spot where Scorpius was standing.
“Rose…” Mum started.
“I…I’m going to go check on him.” I stuttered.
I spun quickly on my heels and darted off to my room. Scorpius was sitting in my bed, staring at the wall. I walked over to him and took a seat on the bed.
“What the hell just happened?” He whispered.
“I…I think our parents are having an affair with each other.” I stammered.
“What are we going to do?” Scorpius asked.
“I don’t know.”
