I swayed to the beat easily. After Isadora dragged me out into the crowd of dancing students, I was finally enjoying myself. Though it really only had to do with who I was dancing with. I was dancing with Scorpius in a huge crowd of Hogwarts students. I was with Scorpius out in public and it was so much fun. I grabbed him and pulled him down to where we could talk.
“Let’s go back to yours!” I yelled over the music.
He looked wary. “What if my roommates come back?”
“I’ve got Polyjuice Potion to change into Isadora!” I replied and he nodded.
“Alright, if you want.” We walked out together without talking to anyone. I’d text Isadora later. We were walking towards the dungeons when Scorpius turned abruptly and pulled me into a storeroom.
“What—” I broke off as he smashed his mouth against mine. I hopped up wrapping my legs around his waist as he sat me on a desk. He was more forceful than usual as he pulled me as close to him as physically possible. “Scorpius?” I asked, muffled by his mouth.
“Hush.” He growled and kissed me harder.
“Alright then,” I replied and promptly shut-up.
We were so focused on making-out that we didn’t even hear the door opened. We didn’t know anyone was there until someone yelled out. “Hey you two!”
“Fuck,” I muttered as Scorpius and I pulled apart.
“What are you two doing?” Teddy stood in front of us with his hands on his hips. We remained silent, looking at the floor. “Take off your masks.”
Scorpius immediately took off his mask while I weighed my options. The only problem was there were no options. I was too young to Apparate and if I tried to run past Teddy he’d stop me. I didn’t have my wand either.
“Thank you, Scorpius. Now you too, Miss.” Teddy sighed. I steeled myself and took off my mask. “Thank—” He stared at me with wide eyes. “Lily Lu? Merlin’s beard!”
“Teddy, you can’t tell Mum and Dad!” I ran up to him. “Please! They’ll be furious! Teddy, you have to promise me that you won’t tell!”
Teddy just looked blankly between Scorpius and I. “You and Scorpius?” He looked so confused and bewildered it was almost comical…almost. “I can’t believe this.”
“Well, Mr. Lupin, you owe me ten Sickles.” Professor Adustio was leaning against the doorframe with a smug look on her face.
“I know! Dammit!” Teddy cursed. “Come on, Lil! This was supposed to be Rose!”
“Thanks Lily, you’re a real team player.” Professor Adustio winked at me. “Pay up, Lupin. Come on.”
I stared open-mouthed at Teddy. “Are you kidding me?”
“C’mon Stella, you think I have that kind of change on me? I’m on a teacher’s salary for Godric’s sake.” Teddy turned to her.
I looked at Scorpius in puzzlement who shrugged in return.
“Then give me what you’ve got and I’ll collect the rest later,” she told him.
“Oh, for Merlin’s sake!” He plunged his hands into the pockets of his robes. “Here’s all I’ve got on me.”
“This is only three Knuts and a paperclip with lint on it.” She gave him a look. “You’d better get me the rest by tomorrow.”
“Excuse me!” I cleared my throat. The two “adults” looked over at us. “You promise not to tell our parents?” I asked sheepishly.
“Yeah sure,” Teddy agreed. “But you’ve got to tell them LP. I can’t keep secrets for long.”
“Yeah I will!” I grabbed Scorpius’ hand and pulled him through the door. “Thanks Teddy! See you later!” I called over my shoulder before racing down the hallway to the dungeons. We stopped a few feet away and I slipped out of my shoes. “These things are killing me.” I groaned.
“Here.” Scorpius took them from me. “Go on.” He stood with his back to me. “It’s either a piggyback ride or your feet touching the icky dungeon floor.”
I weighed my options before leaping on his back. “That was the weirdest thing I’ve ever had to deal with.” I shook my head as we entered the empty common room.
“You’re telling me,” Scorpius replied straight-faced as we walked up the stairs and into his dorm. He set me down and I walked towards his trunk when suddenly he burst out laughing. He was laughing so hard that tears formed in his eyes and he had to lean against the wall to steady himself. “That was…completely…outrageous!” Giggles burst forth again from his mouth.
I started laughing as well, because Scorpius had the cutest laugh and it was infectious. He then straightened up with chuckles still shining in his eyes. He smiled at me as I tried to stop giggling. “I’m sorry,” I told him. “Your laugh is just so cute.”
“Oi!” He grabbed me around the waist. “I’m not cute! I’m a manly man!” He tickled my waist and I shrieked with laughter. “Take it back!” He threw me on the bed and landed on top of me.
We froze, because Scorpius was straddling me with his hand far up on my bare thigh. Damn this dress and its incredibly high slit.
“Oh, I’m sorry!” He back-pedalled, stepping off the bed and promptly falling over his trunk. “Shit! Oh, sorry Lily!” His voice came from the floor. He jumped to his feet, but the fall had left his hair sticking up like Albert Einstein and his mask askew on his face. He looked so completely ridiculous that I started laughing. “I’m such an idiot.” He took off the mask and threw it in his trunk. He began shrugging out of his coat and loosening his tie.
I climbed off the bed and came up behind him. I slid my arms around his waist and hugged him tightly. “You’re not an idiot,” I told him. “I don’t know a better person than you, Scorp.” He just looked down at his feet. “Hey!” I spun him around and looked at him. “C’mon, don’t be like that.”
He looked up at me and I pressed my lips to him. My fingers began undoing the buttons on his shirt and I got halfway down before Scorpius stopped me.
“What are you doing?” He asked me with a careful expression. “Are you sure about this?” He looked me right in the face. “Lily, you don’t have to do anything that you aren’t sure about.”
I chewed on my lip a little feeling the Firewhisky heat up my cheeks. “But I want to.” I stood on my tippy toes to place a kiss on Scorpius’ neck.
“Can we talk about it for a second?” He asked as he wrapped his arms around my waist. “We never really have talked about this…”
I looked up at him before nodding my head. “Alright yeah. Let’s talk.” Scorpius liked to talk about things especially in our relationship. He was very open, easy to talk to, and quick to listen so I didn’t mind usually.
We both sat down on his bed, me with my legs folded like a fawn amid the midnight blue of my dress and Scorpius leaning casually back against his headboard.
“I know that I’d be your first,” he began, “and there’s nothing I’d want more, trust me. But Lily, this is something you can’t do again. You can’t get it back or get a do-over. There’s only one chance and I don’t want you to regret it. I know neither of us are even drunk, but still.”
I looked over at him and a grin broke out across my face. I shook my head, still smiling. “You’re literally perfect.”
His cheeks turned dark red and he smiled. “Not really. I just know my first time was crappy and I wish that I could’ve done it over with someone who really loved me.”
“What happened?” I asked him as I laid back against his chest.
He sighed. “Nothing. It was just meaningless sex. The boys and I had made a bet as to who could get laid first and I won. I wish I’d waited, but you know how competitive I get.”
I smiled at him. “It’s okay.” We got silent. “You know probably any other guy would’ve just slept with me and not thought anything about it.”
“Well, I wouldn't do that to the girl I love,” he replied as he stroked my hair.
I felt Scorpius freeze and turned around to face him.
“You what?” I asked him.
“I love you.” He smiled.
“I love you too,” I replied smiling back.
I woke up that morning in a pair of Scorpius’ joggers and one of his t-shirts. I climbed across his bed and grabbed the Polyjuice Potion out of my bag. I added one of Isadora’s hairs to the mix before drinking just enough from the flask to get me to Gryffindor Tower. I felt my body changing instantly. I took my hair down out of its ponytail and fingered the golden blonde strands.
“What—” Scorpius spluttered. I turned and saw him staring at me with wide eyes. “Isadora? Where’s Lil—”
“It’s me, Scorpius!” I hissed.
“Lily?” He whispered back. “Polyjuice Potion?” He asked and I nodded. “How did you get some?”
I laughed. “How on earth do you think? I brewed it myself.”
He looked at me wide-eyed. “That’s very advanced potion-making.”
I shrugged and whispered. “James taught me years ago so I could help him and Fred to skive class. He would’ve asked Al, but he’s horrid with Potions. Brankovitch’s the only reason that he’s passing. And Rose’s the only reason he has gotten this far.” I then shook my head. “Sorry anyways! I’m going to go, before everyone else wakes up. Bye love you,” I whispered and climbed out of bed.
“Love you too,” he whispered back. “I’ll text you,” he said as we got out of bed. We walked to the door and he smiled down at me.
“Bye.” I kissed him on the lips and left the room. I hurried back to Gryffindor Tower and began to sprint up to my room as I could feel the potion wearing off. Luckily Lucy, Bonnie, Elisaveta, and Isadora were all asleep still. I dropped my bag on the floor and grabbed some clothes before I went into the bathroom.
One look in the mirror showed that I was completely back to normal so I changed into some workout leggings and a huge t-shirt that was once James’ or maybe Fred’s. I then put on some tennis shoes and walked out the door. I wanted to get an early morning fly in since I knew that no one would be on the Pitch. It would feel damn good too.
I landed on the ground feeling infinitely satisfied. I put up my broom and pulled my jacket tighter around me. I walked up to the castle and entered gratefully into the warmth of the Great Hall. I spotted Lucy, Louis, and Hugo sitting at the Gryffindor table with Birch Ollivander (Hugo and Louis’ fit roommate) and Elisaveta. The older kids were nowhere to be seen probably hung-over or something.
“Hey mate,” Hugo said as I sat down.
“What this wonky thing you’ve got on your head love?” Birch asked me motioning to my ear-warmer.
“It keeps my ears warm. I went for a fly this morning.” I explained and he nodded with a smile. Birch was quite fit in the all-American way with huge blue eyes and strange golden brown hair. He was tall and muscular as fit as they come and quite rich as well. His dad runs Ollivander’s as did his dad before him and so on. Birch was so sweet too probably the nicest guy I’ve ever met aside from Scorpius. Those two give me hope for the male gender.
“You gonna start back practicing?” Hugo asked excitedly.
“Yep!” I grinned. “Aunt Hannah said I could if I took it easy.”
“That’s great, LP!” Louis smiled.
“Howdy folks,” Isadora said as she sat down between Birch and I. “Last night was exhausting.” She sighed as she began shoveling food onto her plate.
“Why what’d you do? Or shall I say who?” Hugo smirked and Lucy smacked him across the back of the head. “Ow!”
“Actually no one.” Isadora shrugged.
“Really?” Cora Summerby asked as she stopped behind Lucy. She was on her way to the Hufflepuff table. “That’s not what I saw.” Cora gave her a look as she fluffed her brunette waves.
“Well, what’d you see?” Isadora asked.
Cora shoved Hugo and Louis apart and sat down in between them. “Nothing terrible, but you know that Hogwarts’ gossip rag? The one that is anonymous?”
“The knock off Gossip Girl?” Lucy asked.
Cora nodded. “Yep. Someone uploaded these pictures on Wizard Whispers two hours ago.” She tapped away on her phone and turned it around to show us pictures of Isadora. The first was of Isadora at the Autumn Ball kissing Elijah Sloper (Al’s best friend and roommate). In one she (read: me) was kissing Scorpius goodbye in the doorway of his dorm. She (read: me) was wearing his clothes and he was shirtless. And then the last of Isadora (read: me) walking through the Slytherin common room. “You were busy last night.”
“Fuck!” Isadora exchanged serious looks with me.
“What is it?” Cora asked. “If you’re sticking with Scorpius then Maxima will be delighted! She might even promote you over India. Everyone knows that India’s been after him for years and never been able to catch him.”
“Okay, thanks Cora! I’ll talk to you later!” Isadora stood up. “You come with me.” She dragged me out into the hallway.
“What is it?” I asked her.
“Lily, you’ve got to fix this,” she told me. “I really like Elijah and I didn’t sleep with him, because I wanted to take it slow for once!”
“Isadora, I can’t just tell everyone about Scorpius and I! It’ll get back to our parents!” I hissed.
“Then just tell Elijah!” She begged.
“No, Izzy! He’s Al’s best friend! He’ll tell him!” I argued.
“No, he won’t!”
“I’m sorry Izzy, but I can’t,” I replied firmly.
“Isadora!” We looked up to see Elijah coming down the stairs, phone in hand. “Can we talk?” He asked.
Isadora looked at me with pleading eyes, but I shook my head. “Okay yeah,” she told him with a glare in my direction.
They walked away to where I couldn’t hear, but I watched as Elijah began motioning with his hands. Isadora was doing the same and I could tell that she was trying to explain the pictures without giving me away. But Elijah only looked more cross with each word she said. Finally, he stopped her and said a short sentence which made Isadora begin to cry. I could see her begging and pleading with him, but he simply turned on his heel and went to breakfast.
I ran up to her. “Izzy, I’m so—”
She snarled at me and pushed my hands away. “Don’t even say it! You, heartless bitch. I hope you know that Elijah just ended whatever we’d started. I didn’t spill your stupid secret not that he’d believe me anyway.”
“Izzy, I never wanted—”
“Godric! Cut the bullshit, LP!” She yelled. “Just stay the hell away from me!” She stormed off in the direction I was facing towards the dungeons. I wondered where she was going, but knew it was best to leave her alone for a bit.
“Fuck,” I muttered to myself as I thought about what I’d just done.
