She flipped the album open and saw the very first picture was of Harry kneeling on one knee in the grass of a packed quidditch pitch in his seeker robes, while Ginny was shown blushing in her Holyhead Harpies robes. Their brooms discarded to the side. As Ginny watched Harry stood up and picked her up in a large embrace that quickly turned to snogging. She watched smiling as the happy couple was cheered on by the crowds. She was glad that some fans had thought to whip out their cameras and take pictures. Otherwise she wouldn’t have this picture.
Ginny smiled remembering that day when Harry proposed. She had been so confused when the match had stopped in the middle and Harry zoomed towards her pulling him onto his broom. She tried to ask him what was going on but Harry cut her off with a kiss. When he had kneeled in the grass he had looked so nervous when he asked and then shocked and pleased when she said yes. That had been one of her happiest moments, and she remembered the day well.
She turned the page and found a picture of Hermione and her browsing through wedding dresses, helped by an overjoyed looking Mrs. Weasley. Hermione picked up a large flashy, strapless, white dress covered in many intricate bead workings, with a white lace corset, and a silver beaded top. The bottom was made of layers and layers of fabric and ruffles, making it puff out like a marshmallow. Ginny shook her head laughing as the two burst into a fit of giggles. Mrs. Weasley then got really excited and pulled out a simpler dress. Ginny saw it and beamed. With a few alterations it would be perfect!
She leaned back against the wall as the memories of the wedding filled her mind.
Ginny paced the room in a nervous anxiety. She was in a stunning dress that flattered and fit her body perfectly, her long red hair in an elegant bun on the top of her head. Her face had a thin layer of makeup on it, enhancing her features and making her look even more stunning. The door opened and she turned to see her dad walking towards her in his best dress robes. She ran to him and wrapped him in a warm embrace.
“Oh Ginny I can’t get over the fact that my little baby darling is getting married!” He said tearfully, pulling out of the hug.
“Dad, I’m so happy! This is everything I dreamed of when I was younger. Now it’s come true, it’s like a fairy tale! But I’m so worried-”
“Don’t be,” he said cutting her off, “Harry is a nice young man and will take very good care of you. You to are sure to be very happy together, for a very long time.”
“I know that but I can’t help thinking of what ifs-”
Ginny was embraced with another hug from her dad as he said in a soothing voice “Ginny. don’t worry. Harry won’t let anything happen to you.”
Ginny smiled as a tinkling bell ringed. “Oh!! It’s about to start! We should get go!” Ginny exclaimed.
They walked out of the room and down a long hallway decorated with pictures of Hogwarts professors and an assortment of goblins, knights, and house elves. They reached the end of the hallway and waited at the double doors. The signal was given and Mr. Weasley pushed the doors open, Ginny holding onto his arm. They stepped onto the Hogwarts grounds by the Black Lake in a cloud of warm, summer, sunlight. She couldn't have asked for a better day to have her wedding. She smiled as the crowd of guests rose from their seats and turned to get a better view of her.
She felt self conscious wearing a dress, she normally wore jeans and a t-shirt but all her fears and worries melted away as she looked at Harry. He was wearing dark green dress robes that made his bright green eyes more noticeable and vivid, and the rest of his features even more handsome. He was beaming as he watched her. She fixed her eyes on Harry to distract her mind from all the people watching them. She slowly walked down the path of daisies toward him, and when she reached him they hugged as they turned towards the old wizened wizard who was performing the ceremony. With a start she realized it was the same wizard who had done the ceremony at bill’s wedding. She was wondering how he had lived so long when he started speaking. The guests sat as the ceremony began.
“Mawage. Mawage is wot bwings us togeder tooday. Mawage, that bwessed awangment, that dweam wifin a dweam.”
Harry and Ginny glanced at each other smiling. They looked away so that they would start laughing. Yes there would definitely be jokes later on at the reception. Mawage, that dweam wifin a dweam. As Ginny thought of this her mind started wandering towards the man standing next her. She still couldn’t believe Harry was hers. It was a childish dream that she had given up on, and then one day he was there. For her. Forever.
“And wuv, tru wuv, will fowow you foweva… So tweasure your wuv.” She was certainly going to treasure his love, forever. The wizard pulled out his wand as Harry and Ginny grasped right hands.
“Do wou Hawey James Powter pwomis twoo love Ginny foweva and twoo pwotect her fwom all harm, sickness, and danga that might ocuwr?”
“I do.” Said harry gazing into her soft brown eyes. A jet of light red light shot out of the wizards wand and wrapped around Harry, and Ginny’s clasped hands.
"Do wou Ginerva Mowy Weawey in tuwn pwomis twoo love Hawey foweva and twoo pwotect him fwom all harm, sickness, and danga thar might ocuwr?
“I do.” She said softly. A second jet of light burst out of the wand, this time light pink. As the light wrapped around their hands the man spoke again.
“Do you have the wing?”
Harry and Ginny exchanged rings smiling. They didn’t wait for the wizard to say “man and wife” or “you may kiss the bride.” They were already doing that. The crowd cheered as the daisies on the path started to play soft music and float over the couple, and weaving into ginny’s long hair. Harry and Ginny broke apart smiling.
“I love you.” Harry whispered in her ear.
“I know.” She whispered back.
