When the leaves change, turning into their brilliant shades of gold, red, brown and orange, I think of you. Each and every time my darling, each and every time. As summer ends, my heart aches for you even more than it usually would. Autumn was ours, it held so much promise for our young hearts. It is the time of transition, between summer and winter, life and death, our love and the war that stole you away. Sirius, my darling, oh how my old body yearns to be young again and in your arms once more.

You had been strong and loyal, kind and brave. Always handsome beyond anything I had ever seen. You won me over with that first smile, and that is why I put up such a fight. It scared me how easy it was falling in love with you.
"Lucy, wait, LUCY!"

"What Black? Want to embarrass me some more? Didn't get you fill in the great hall? Had to follow me to the black lake, and what? Show off to the giant squid!" My long brown hair

blew in the wind as I whipped around to scream at you, my chocolate eyes ablaze.
"What? No, I followed you because I...I think I might love you." You ran your hand through your hair then, a nervous trait you picked up from James. "Lord only know why, you are stubborn as hell, you never listen to what I say and you yell like a banshee. But God, I really love you." with each word you seemed to get more and more confident, and by the end of it, you grabbed my arm and pulled me in for a kiss. Our first. Standing under a tree out by the black lake, as the first leaf fell.
a few months later we graduated, heading out into real life. I had been scared that we wouldn't make it, that one of us would get hurt. I guess I had been right. But not yet, first we had love.
"Do you, Sirius Orion Black take Lucy Marie Clare as your lofly wedded wife?"
"I do." you said it with pride, grinning at me from your place by my side. Even after all that time you could still make me blush.
"And do you, Lucy Marie Clare take Sirius Orion Black to be your lofly wedded husband?"
"I do."
my wedding dress is still hanging in the closet, along with your cloths. I could never bring myself to get ride of it. It still vaguely smells of your cologne, and it hold as many memories as it does moth bites. After our wedding day, in the middle of Autumn, a few more leaves fell.
It wasn't long before my fears and doubts crept back up to me. Poisoning my thoughts and eating away at my bravery.
"Sirius?" I whispered in the middle of the night, unable to sleep.
"Yeah Luce?"
"Are you, are you scared?"
"Only that I might loose you, or anyone else I love."
"You don't get scared for your life? Not ever? "
"No, I believe in the cause, in what we are fighting for. Its worth dying for to me."
I wish you never said that, because in the end both our fears came true, I lost my best friends and my husband in one fowl swoop. Lily and James, the thought of them stings my eyes. So young, good, kind, strong and much braver then I. Gone in a second, and you in the next.
"I love you Lucy Marie Clare Black, and don't you ever forget it."
You walked out of the house that day. Thinking it was just another day at the order, but it wasn't. You never walked back into this house, our home. It still echoes with your voice, when I am really quiet. Your bark like laugh and your soothing sweet words linger in the air. This house hasn't been a home since you left it. Even though my once rich brown hair has turned gray and my chocolate eyes have dulled, I could never leave. For I love you, and miss you too much to leave this place. It holds all my dearest memories. It was the place young Harry took his first steps, the place where Lily, James, Remus, you and I talked for hours until the sun had come up. The place where you first made me your own. And the last place you ever told me you loved me.
