“-and he has the nicest ass EVER.” Dom finally concluding her hour long monologue about her current boyfriend. I roll my eyes and I see Rose doing the same. She does this every time she gets a new boyfriend, which is often. If you put together all the time we've spent listening to her monologues, it could pass the year mark. I'm not even kidding. Suddenly, there’s that familiar sharp pain in my stomach, and I walk calmly to throw up in the toilet. I'm so used to this now, its not even funny. The burning sensation and the disgusting taste is almost second nature now. When I leave the bathroom, no one questions if I'm okay or why I've been sick again, but Rose looks at me strangely.
“I smell bacon. Bye!” Dom says and streaks out of the room. Dom likes bacon more that she likes boys. Yes. That is possible. Almost.
“I should go to. I have to finish my potion assignment.” says Roxy.
And then there were two. Well actually two and a half because there's a baby growing inside of me. But it's only, like, the size of a shrimp thing so, it only counts as half.
So, correction: and then there were two and a half. And a huge awkward silence. It actually wasn't actually awkward, it was just tension and a little bit of anger. Tension because Rose knew something was up, and anger because Rose was still mad that she didn't get to kill me with a broomstick yesterday.
“I'm having a shower” Rose said shortly. I nodded and pulled on some jeans and a white T-shirt. I combed my strawberry blonde (NOT GINGER. I REFUSE TO BE GINGER) curly hair, then put a straightening charm on it, which worked quite well.
I sniffed angrily and tugged on my hair. Imagine an interview with my hair...
Me: well welcome Hair
Hair: hello. Thanks for having me
Me: no problem, thanks for being here. Would you mind if I asked you a few questions?
Hair: fire away.
Me: my first question is: WHY WONT YOU STRAIGHTEN PROPERLY?!
Hair: IT'S NOT MY FAULT.
Me: YES IT IS
Hair: NO IT'S NOT
Me: YES IT IS
Hair: NO IT'S NOT
And now I'm having interviews with my hair. First conversations with my stomach, and now this.
“BLAME IT ON THE HORMONES” I blurt.
Did I just say that out loud?
“Scarlett?” Rose calls from the bathroom.
Oh crap, she heard me.
“yeah...” I answer hesitantly.
“can you come here?” she asks. Well she doesn't sound mad or anything, just confused or calm or something. That's a new thing for her. I stride into the bathroom carefully, and see rose sitting on the side of the bath, a towel wrapped around her body, hold a little white stick.
“Give me that." I lunged for the test but Rose held it out of reach.
"Isn't this a pregnancy test...?" Rose asked slowly. "You've been sick in the morning..."
I knew that Rose was slowly piecing everything together.
"Scarlett, you're pregnant!" She shrieked.
"Rose, shut up!" I hissed desperately
"Scarlett, you're 16!"
"I-I know!" Tears fill my eyes but Rose doesn't notice.
"Scarlett what is wrong with you?" she says sharply. “Who's the father?” she demands.
I hesitate. I trust Rose, but it's er cousin, and she might tell him. And that is not happening. I decide to tell her though. She has the right to know.
"J-James..." I start to cry, tear streaming down my face.
“JAMES?! AS IN MY COUSIN?” she scream
I nod. I half expected this giant reaction from Rose. She has a problem with...change.
“HOW DARE YOU! YOU SL-" she starts
"-oh just shut up Rose!" I scream suddenly. "Don't you think I know?! I haven't even known for a week, and ever since I found out, I feel so guilty!!! I'M A SLUT ROSE! Leave me alone" I finish venomously.
All she does is take one look at me and push past me, out the door.
Great, so now I'm pregnant, the father doesn't even know, and I've lost one of my best friends.
I have a great life.
A/N: how did you like this chapter? Did you like Rose's reaction? I don’t really like this chapter, but tell me what you think – review :)
