When we returned back to school she worked with me for potions and gave me the necklace I’d gotten her for Christmas. When we finished school she left the country and went back to the states. I still think about her all the time, I’ve gotten better at talking to Women. I haven’t vomited on anyone since Addie, but it’s just not the same.
I’m now working for the profit writing a travel column. I don’t have to talk to many people to do this job, just the editor. James has since married Jenny and their expecting their first child. Lily is a seventh year now. Rose and Scorpius are married too, they however stayed in touch with Addie.
“So Al, where are you headed to next?” James asked. We were at the annual family picnic. Gran Weasley forces us she says that if she’s forced to only see some of us during the holiday’s she’s going to force us all to be in the same place at the same time once every year. He doesn’t mention Addie, no one does.
“I think California in the states, there’s apparently a wizard retreat that just opened up,” I told James. Yeah I know I’m going to the states, but I never see Addie. I don’t even know what she does.
“When do you go?” Jenny asked.
“Tomorrow morning.” I told her. Jenny jumped a little.
“I’m fine, she just kicked me in the bladder.”
“Don’t you mean he?” I said. There’s a pool going around for weather the baby is a boy or a girl. James desperately wants a boy and Jenny wants a girl.
“You wish,” she smirked. “I know you’re all gambling on the gender of my baby!” Jenny wasn’t stupid, in fact I heard she’d made a bet too. James on the other hand had no idea. And currently he was yelling at Lily about Quiddich.
I arrived at the resort shortly after ten, I went into the office to check in. “Good Morning,” said the young girl behind the counter. “Checking in.”
“Yes, Potter, Albus.” I told her.
“Alright, “ she said. “Just sign here and here’s your key, room 231.”
“Enjoy your stay,” she called out as I headed to the room. I set my things down and went to look around the property. Everything was beautiful. The gardens were perfect not even a dead plant. I headed to the dining hall for dinner, okay, so I went to get a drink. I sat at the bar sipping on my bourbon when I saw her. It was the first time I’d seen her since We left Hogwarts, she was just as gorgeous as I remember. Her long dark hair was pulled back and she was in a black slacks and a white button up carrying a serving tray. She looked like she was having a good time. She turned at our eyes locked, and just for a moment, I thought maybe she still loved me. Maybe I… Then she dropped her tray and all of the half filled plates and drinks fell on to a customer. She looked super embarrassed and apologized profusely. Fortunately for her, I think the customer was trying to hit on her. He kept checking her out.
I left the bar and was headed out of the restaurant. “Albus!” She called out to me. I stopped and turned around. “It is you.”
“I uh… didn’t expect to see you here. Working.” I said.
“I own the place, sometimes, I waitress, tonight my best waitress got sick, so I took over.” She told me. “So what are you doing here?” she asked.
“Working?” she was confused then again I didn’t sound so sure of what I was doing either.
“Er... yeah, I write a travel column for the Prophet”
“Oh… Well, do you like what you’ve seen so far?” She asked. Things were starting to get awkward.
“Yes, very much,” I gushed out.
“I have to go back in there, but it was great seeing you, uh maybe I’ll see you later,” Addie smiled. I nodded and watched her walk back in.
I’m such an idiot. I should have told her… something. Truth is I missed her. Seeing her also triggered all of my ld feelings. Well almost all of them, I didn’t have the urge to vomit anymore. I owed Addie a lot- an apology, an explanation, but what I owed to her most of all was gratitude; gratitude for getting me to stop being nauseous around women.
I returned to my room to start my initial impressions log. I got distracted; I really just wanted to talk to someone. I stuck my head in the fire place and placed “A Call” to Scorpius and Rose.
“Hello!” I called out.
“Al?” Rose’s voice said then she came into view. “What are you doing aren’t you supposed to be working?”
“I am… I ran into Addie” I said bluntly.
“Did you talk to her.”
“Sort of, it was really awkward.”
“You didn’t vomit on her again did you?” Scorpius said coming into view and plopping himself onto their sofa.
“Scorpius!” Rose turned no doubt to glare at him.
“Did you know she owned a resort?”
“Yeah, but she’s not the only person to own a resort there.”
“You could have warned me.”
“I didn’t think about it, we never Talk about what happened with you two.”
“It’s because it’s a sensitive subject and Mrs. Potter would beat us senseless if we upset poor Albus,” Scorpius said.
“Quit being a bloody prick! Get comfortable on that couch Mr. Malfoy; you for sure are not sleeping in my bed tonight!”
“Too much information!” I shouted.
“Albus, relax be nice. Tell her hi from everyone here.” Rose smiled.
“Fine, bye guys; and Scorpius, when I get back I’m going to sock you in the nose.”
“I’ll be here,” he smirked as I pulled my head out of the fireplace.
