“PHOEBEEE!” Ellie screeched through the phone.
I winced and pulled it away from my ear as she continued to shriek. After I heard her taking a breath, I quickly said, “Are you okay? Did you want to come over?”
“YES. I NEED TO TELL YOU SOMETHING, I’LL BE OVER IN LIKE TEN MINUTES, OKAY?!”
“Sure thing, see you then!” I said brightly, hanging down the phone. Jack then bounded to me and I picked him up. “Good grief, Jack, you’re getting fat!” He wagged his tail and licked the side of my face. “How did you get so fat, you cheeky boy?”
Louis then walked out from our bedroom with his hair raised up on one side. “He likes to snack,” he said. “Good morning.”
“Good morning,” I replied, grinning at him. We’d been together for two years and I still was having the best time of my life with him.
I put Jack down and walked over to where Louis was making himself some breakfast. I wrapped my arms around his waist and I could feel him laugh.
“Aren’t you late for work?” I asked, kissing his cheek. He looked at the time in alarm and swore.
I let him go as he rushed to get his uniform on and he tried to get his hair to lie flat. I rolled my eyes and finished his breakfast for him. He quickly gave me a kiss before saying, “I love you! Bye!”
“Love you too! Bye!” I waved at him before he apparated to work.
Then a knock sounded on the door and I answered it, only to be greeted with a flying Ellie. “PHOEBEEE!” she shrieked again.
“ELLIEEE!” I shrieked back.
She bounced on her toes with a goofy grin. “What?” I asked warily. She smiled even wider, showing all her teeth.
I did not realise humans had so many teeth.
Then she squealed, “I’M PREGNANT!”
My jaw dropped and I wrapped my sister in-law in a hug. “That’s great news, Ellie! I’m so happy for you!” She squeezed me tightly and squealed some more.
“And you know what the better news is?” she asked, after finally pulling away.
I frowned. “What’s the better news?”
“THIS IS AN EXCUSE TO SHOP AND TO HAVE PEDICURES.”
We were sitting in a chair that was massaging us as some ladies painted our toenails. Ellie kept calling up people (I felt very special – I was the second to know, the first being Matt, obviously) and I flicked through some bridal magazines that Ellie made me read.
I don’t know why she was making me read them; Louis and I weren’t even engaged yet.
The ladies finished and I wriggled my now-orange toes. I beamed and said brightly, “Thank you!”
The lady smiled and then Ellie and I paid and went off to shop.
“You know what we should get you?” Ellie asked me.
“A t-shirt that says, ‘WORLD’S GREATEST AUNT’?” I said, grinning down at her.
She rolled her eyes. “No. A wedding dress!”
I choked. “Ellie! I’m not even engaged!”
She nodded and rolled her eyes. “I know that, I’m not stupid!”
I looked at her incredulously. “Then why are you suggesting I buy a wedding dress?!”
She laughed. “We won’t actually buy one, let’s just try them on. It’s really fun!” She grinned at me and I shook my head.
“No way. I am not going to try a wedding dress on when I’m not even engaged – that’s just sad.”
Ellie just gave me a smug smirk.
“I can’t believe we’re doing this,” I muttered.
Ellie just dug her elbow into me and got the attention of an assistant. “Hi! My friend just wanted to try on some wedding dresses!” she said brightly.
I made a noise in the back of my throat and Ellie stood on my foot discreetly. The lady happily obliged and she pulled me towards a rack and I picked out a strapless one.
She forced me into the changing room and I struggled to get the thing on. When I finally zipped the back up, I stepped out and Ellie gasped, “That’s absolutely gorgeous, Bee! Look at yourself!”
I grumbled a bit but looked at the mirror and my jaw dropped.
You know what; maybe I will have a little bit of fun.
In the end, my favourite was a dress that had a sweetheart neckline and had lace patterns all over the bodice. However, we had to put it back and I nearly cried while giving it to Sheila, our assistant.
“I’ll come back one day,” I promised Sheila.
She beamed. “Of course! You looked absolutely gorgeous!” she said, grinning.
Ellie nudged me and smiled at me. “Anyway, we better get going, Sheila. Thank you so much for your help!”
She waved at us and then Ellie turned to me. “Okay, I haven’t been very truthful. I’m having a party in like two hours and so I’ve already booked a hairdresser and make-up appointment. The clothes that you will be wearing are already at the venue so don’t worry about that.” She beamed at me and I felt a wave of frustration.
“Ellie, please tell me you’re joking. What are you even having a party for?!” I cried out.
“I’m not joking! And the party is an early birthday party for you!” she said happily, tugging me along to the hairdressers.
I looked at her flatly. “My birthday is six months away. And it’s only my 24th, nothing special,” I said.
She huffed. “I knew you’d react this way! But since I’m the hormonal pregnant one I get my way!”
I rolled my eyes. “Ells, you’re only like eight weeks.” Instead of replying, she stuck her tongue out at me. “Mature, Ellie. I bet your child will be more mature than you.”
She shrugged. “Meh, anyway we’re here!” She shoved me through the door and immediately someone forced me to sit down.
I looked around and saw a guy already fluffing with my hair. “You guys are two and a half minutes late! There is no time for pleasantries! Ernesto! Get the product now, we’re going in deep!” He started brushing my hair roughly and Ellie sat down, laughing as a young girl started combing through her hair gently.
I glared at her and she blew me a kiss before pulling out her phone and texting someone. I sighed and the guy tugged my hair a bit more. “Please stop moving. You have no idea how tight my schedule is!”
“I’m sorry,” I muttered, not liking the guy at all.
“As you should be. I’m Mikey, by the way. Now, let’s see what we’re doing here. Okay so this should go here and that should be layered…” I stopped listening and instead read a Muggle magazine.
After an hour of my hair being tugged and teased and re-brushed, my hair was falling in loose curls shining bright red. I smiled at Mikey and Ernesto (they worked together) and said, “Thank you! It looks amazing!”
They smiled smugly and we quickly paid before Ellie tugged me to the make-up store. Her usual shoulder-length hair was in a low bun with bangs on either side of her face. She looked really sweet. So I told her that.
She beamed at me and said, “Damn right! Now let’s get this make-up on you!”
I rolled my eyes and moaned, “Ellie, I can do my own make-up!”
She shook her head. “No, please just let me do this!”
I huffed and said, “Okay, but you owe me one.”
She muttered something and I asked her to speak louder but she sung, “Don’t worry! Just me thinking out loud!”
I narrowed my eyes at her. “Ellie, are you okay? You look kinda stressed out.”
She shook her head. “Nah, I’m fine, don’t worry.” She grinned at me but there was something off about it. In the end I let it go and let the girl called Missy attack my face with make-up.
She finished but before I could say thank you, Ellie screamed, “NOW!”
Immediately my hands were bound and there was a blindfold on my eyes. I roared, “ELLIE! WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO ME?!”
I heard her come closer and she apologised over and over again. “I’m so sorry, this has to be done! You’ll thank me later, I promise!” I moved around and then she said, “Okay now we need to get her to the park. But if you dare ruin her hair or make-up, I will cut you up into little pieces and force feed them to my father in-law’s donkey.”
I was very confused and then two sets of hands grabbed me on either arm and I was terrified. “WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO ME?!”
“Bee, I promise this is all good! Can you please just cooperate for like five minutes?” Ellie pleaded.
I sighed. “Fine. But if I end up somewhere random with no one around I will murder you.”
“Of course, now take her away boys!” Ellie said.
Oh good God what has she done?
I was put in a car, very delicately because Ellie was shrilling in the background, “DON’T YOU DARE HURT THAT MAKE-UP OR HAIR! I WILL DRINK YOUR BLOOD!”
“We’ve put spells on it so it doesn’t get ruined,” an unfamiliar voice said. Ellie ignored it and kept shrilling until I couldn’t hear her anymore.
“Where are you taking me?” I asked nervously.
A low voice chuckled. “Don’t worry; we’re not going to hurt you. You’ll thank us later.”
Wait a second, I know that voice.
“I know your voice!” I said accusingly. “Can you talk more so I can try and remember it?”
Another voice came from the right of me, “There’s two of us. And after this sentence we won’t say anything. Strict orders.”
“I know both of you! Who are you?” I asked but they never responded. I purposefully started doing annoying noises in hopes that they would tell me to be quiet but the driver just asked me politely to stop being annoying.
Woops, I forgot there was a driver.
We finally arrived and the two mysterious men led me out of the car to…
I didn’t have a clue where I was, so I let them lead me to wherever I had to go and then they left me. I went to start taking off the blindfold (even though they gave me strict instructions not to), but Ellie screamed, “DON’T YOU DARE REMOVE THAT BLINDFOLD, MISSY!”
I jumped about a foot in the air and Ellie slapped my hands away. “Okay, I need you to be perfectly still. I’m going to dress you in something different.”
“Wha –? Ellie, no!” I awkwardly smacked her hand away from the zipper of my dress with my bound hands. “I’m not letting you bloody dress me! Do you not hear how crazy this is? I’m pretty sure you’ve –”
Ellie silenced me and apologised, “I’m sorry, but I’m going to need to do this.”
Then she made me freeze so I couldn’t move or talk.
She dressed me and when she finally finished zipping me up, putting on my shoes and God knows what, she called out, “Mark! Come in now!” Then quieter she said, “Alright, you’re going to have to keep the blindfold on and please don’t touch the dress. It’ll make everything better at the end, I promise. See you then!” She gave me a peck on the cheek, unbound my hands, lifted all the jinxes off of me and then I heard her footsteps bounding out of the room.
“Bee? Oh, you look gorgeous,” Dad said, coming over to me and linking my arm with his. “Now don’t touch your dress and hold on tightly to me.”
“Dad, what’s happening? I’m really nervous,” I said, gripping his arm as tightly as possible.
He laughed. “Don’t worry, you’ll see soon. Now we just have to walk a few meters forward and then you’ll be able to see everything.”
I nodded and then Dad said, “Okay, now we’ll start walking. One, two, one two, one, two,” he counted, keeping a firm grip on me. When I started walking, I jolted, realising that the dress that Ellie put on me was long and heavy.
Then we finally got outside, the warm sun burning my skin, Dad said, “Here, I’ll take the blindfold off.”
I breathed a sigh of relief when it finally was pulled off but then cried out when the bright sun hit my eyes. I squinted my eyes and then when they finally adjusted, I looked around.
There were chairs set up on either side of an aisle and they were all filled. They had all stood up and were looking at me, smiling expectedly.
Louis was at the end of the aisle beaming at me, with his best friend and two of his cousin’s on the side. Ellie was also waiting, on the other side and Rachelle was there along with Dom, Louis’ sister.
Everyone was grinning at me and I looked down, realising I was in the wedding dress I tried on earlier.
I looked towards Dad and he was trying not to laugh. I looked for Mum and saw her out the front with Matt and Burrito.
I asked Dad loudly, “Is this my wedding?!” Everyone started to laugh and then a wedding tune started playing in the background.
“You’re up, sweetheart,” Dad said, grinning at me. He took my hand and started walking me down the aisle.
I was so confused, I don’t remember being engaged and I didn’t remember organising this.
But then I locked eyes with Louis and as cheesy as this sounded, I forgot it all because he looked so bright and happy. I felt a smile make its way on my face and then I finally reached him. I let Dad peck me on the cheek and I walked towards him eagerly.
“Wanna explain?” I asked him.
He laughed and then said, “I guess I should have been more conventional about this. Do you want to marry me, Pheebs?”
I laughed and kissed his cheek. “Of course.”
He turned around and screamed, “SHE SAID YES!” Everyone started clapping and cheering and then he turned back to me. “I had to say that.”
I laughed and the minister coughed. “Should I start now?” We nodded and started listening to him, and when the vows came up I looked at Louis in horror.
“I don’t have vows!” Louis laughed and shrugged.
“It doesn’t really matter, can we skip that part?” he asked the minister. The minister looked at him in confusion but then nodded and continued the service.
“Do you, Louis William Weasley take Phoebe Amelia Sandhurst to be your lawfully wedded wife?”
Louis smiled brightly at me and I felt a flutter in my stomach. “I do,” he said proudly. I beamed and then the minister, with a small smile, turned to me.
“Do you, Phoebe Amelia Sandhurst take Louis William Weasley to be your lawfully wedded husband?”
I grinned at Louis and without a moment’s hesitation, I said, “I do.”
“I now pronounce you man and wife,” the minister declared, “you may kiss the bride!”
Louis lifted me up and gave me an enthusiastic kiss. I wrapped my arms around his neck and when we broke apart, Ellie coughed slightly.
“Thank you so much, Ellie,” I said gratefully. “I’m sorry I was being annoying and late.” She grinned at me.
“Didn’t I say that you’d thank me later?” She nudged the side of me and I beamed at her.
Louis laughed. “Thanks, Ellie. Wouldn’t have been able to do it without you.”
She grinned and then Louis and I made our way down the aisle.
As husband and wife.
Okay that was so cheesy but hopefully you all enjoyed it! Heaps of people asked for a sequel and at the time I had no inclination of writing one but then this little plot bunny was nagging at me and I just had to write it! :p
Please leave a review and tell me what you thought! :D
