AN: Anyhting that you recognise does not belong to me.
And so we come to the end of this story but like so many others, the end of one story is the beginning of another...
“James Sirius Potter you had better give that broom back to Sophie or else!”
“Or else what, Ella? You don’t scare me.”
“Oh, is that so? Excuse me one moment.” The eleven year old blonde girl strode calmly away from the dark haired boy who had stolen her sister’s new broom that she had been given for “when she goes to Hogwarts” from their father. She approached her sister who was being restrained by their brother. Looking at each of them in turn she gave them the infamous Malfoy smirk. “I have a plan.”
Meanwhile a little further down the garden sat the parents of the children along with a few others. This included: Draco and Hermione Malfoy, Harry and Ginny Potter, Hermione’s parents, Narcissa Malfoy, Ron Weasley and Blaise Zabini. They had gathered for the last few days before the children went to Hogwarts for their first year. Albus Potter who would have to wait until next year was upset at being left behind and so was currently sat in a strop on Ginny’s lap. The adults had been chatting about their days at Hogwarts when Sophie climbed onto Draco’s lap with tears in her eyes and her bottom lip quivering.
“Baby, what’s wrong?”
“James stole my broom and he won’t give it back and he said...” Sophie began to cry.
“What else did he say?” Draco said through gritted teeth.
“I can’t tell you. It will make you angry.”
“Baby, just tell me what he said.”
“He said that... he said that I’ll become a death-eater just like you and that death-eaters don’t deserve nice things.”
“That’s it! I’m gonna kill him! Nobody makes my baby girl cry and nobody calls me a death-eater!” After placing Sophie on Hermione’s lap Draco stood up and stormed off towards the children. Harry quickly stood up and ran after Draco; he knew his son deserved to be punished for what he had done and said but he couldn’t trust Draco not to actually kill him. Knowing what was coming, Scorpius and Ella ran over to Sophie away from the argument that was to come. The triplets smirked at each other knowing that everything had gone as planned, unfortunately Narcissa caught them smirking.
“Oh you’re good. James didn’t say anything, did he? He just stole your broom.”
“What?! No!” The three triplets said in unison just a bit too quickly whilst failing to look innocent.
“Is that true?” Hermione asked staring each of them in the eye intently. The children knew better than to lie to their Mother; she knew them to well. At most, the best they could get away with was a little white lie.
“It’s true, Mother,” Said Scorpius “But it’s my fault, I told Sophie to say it. James upset Sophie and I wanted to make sure that he got what he deserved.” Scorpius lowered his head in shame.
“Well in that case you can help the house-elves with the dishes until you start Hogwarts and once I tell your father you will have whatever punishment he gives you as well.”
“Now run along.” Scorpius, Sophie and Ella went back over to Draco and Harry who had retrieved the broom from James. If you listened carefully you would be able to hear the girls thanking their brother for covering for them but fortunately for them no one was paying any attention. Hermione sighed and leant her head back against her chair. “When did my babies become manipulative?” She was talking to herself but Narcissa answered anyway.
“My dear, it’s a Malfoy trait; they’ll have been that way since birth. When they start this year, Hogwarts won’t know what’s hit it.”
AN: So this is the end of Listen To Your Heart. Thank you to everyone who has followed this story from the beginning and thank you to those who have reviewed. I am currently in the process of writing a sequel (however it is more based around the children) so look out for that.
