I snuck into the dorm at about six am and jumped into bed. It was the greatest night of my life. James loved me. I fell into a deep, happy sleep.
I was awakened early in the morning by a shrill voice.
“Clem! You’re back!” Rosie shrieked.
“Hmmm?” I said groggily. I was tired.
“Where were you? When did you come in?” she demanded.
“Damn it Rosie, you sound like my mother! Let me sleep!” I groaned. Honestly, it was too early to be awake.
“Clem?” said another groggy voice. “You’re here!” It was Lucy.
“You made it back!” exclaimed Marina. What were they all so excited and awake about? So I’m here, whoop-dee-doo.
“Let me sleep!” I complained.
“What’s all the fuss? Why are you all awake so early?” Lana said as she awoke. Suddenly, she got all excited too. “Clem! You’re back!”
“Where were you last night, Clem?” Rosie asked sternly. She really did sound like my mother.
“I was at the ball! Just like the rest of you!”
“The ball was over at midnight! You mustn’t have been back until at least four am!” Lucy shrieked. She was learning from Rosie.
“I don’t know… it’s too early!” I sort of panicked. Did they know?
“We’ve known you for five years Clem. We know when you’re lying. You were with James,” Marina said.
“I know what you’re thinking! Nothing happened!” I shrieked. “And if anything did happen, then it’s none of your business!”
“When my best friend sleeps with my cousin it’s kind of my business!” Rosie screamed. What they fuck.
“Please Clem, just tell us!” Lucy pleaded.
“Just drop it!” I screamed. I got out of bed and went into the bathroom. They didn’t know anything about me.
I was in the train with Clem, Rosie, Luce and Scor. We were going home for Christmas. Rosie told Scor and I about what happened and I couldn’t believe it. Clem sat in the corner of the compartment, not looking at any of us. Lucy had her head on Scor’s shoulder and his arm was around her. Rosie just fidgeted nervously.
“Please Clem! Talk to us!” Rosie suddenly said.
“We just want you to tell us what happened,” Scorpius piped in.
“You won’t get it.”
I snapped. I couldn’t take it. “Did you really sleep with my brother Clem? I’m going to kill that bastard!”
“Al, please! A little restraint!” Lucy reprimanded me.
“Don’t lie Luce! Albus just voiced what you’re all thinking,” she stared at me with a look that I had never seen before. Her eyes were cold.
“Clem, we all know what James is like,” Rosie said softly. “We just want to make sure you don’t get hurt.”
“You don’t know him. You might be related to him, but you don’t know who he is.” Why was she defending that bastard? He already broke her heart once.
“Then tell us who is he is,” Lucy said.
“James actually cares about me!” Is that what she thinks? Boy was she ever wrong. James cared about no one.
“Tell me Clem, has he ever said that?” I asked. She was kidding herself if she actually thought her cared. “Has he ever called you anything but hot or sexy? Has he ever actually taken care of you or treated you well? Bloody hell Clem! Just tell me, do you really think he fucking loves you?”
I shouldn’t have done it. I shouldn’t have yelled, but she needed to see the truth.
“Shut up!” she screeched. “You don’t know anything Albus Potter! He loves me! We don’t need to discuss this any further!”
“Can’t you see Clem?” I pleaded. “He only wants your body! I don’t want to see my brother break my best friend’s heart again!”
“You won’t.” And with that she left. She went to see James.
“She can’t do this,” Scorpius murmured. He was right, I wouldn’t let her. I ran after her.
“Al! Wait!” Scorpius had followed me. “I care about Clem too, but you can’t just go curse James, she’ll be with him.”
“Did you hear what he did to her? I can’t just let him fuck around with her. She’ll be heartbroken.”
“I know mate, but you can’t just-” Scorpius started to say.
“Yes I can.” I found James. The bastard was sitting in his compartment with his arm around Clem laughing with his stupid friends. I threw the door open.
“Hello baby brother!” James called. “What can I do for you today?”
That stupid callous arsehole. “How could you James?” I screamed. “How could you do this to her?”
“Albus! Leave!” Clementine shrieked. She pushed me.
“Get off me Clem! Can’t you see what he’s doing to you?” I yelled back. Could she really be so blind?
“Leave me alone! I don’t need your help!”
“Clem,” Scorpius cut in. “I know Al’s acting like a bit of in arse, but he’s worried about you.”
“I don’t need your concern Scorpius,” she said tersely. “Leave. And take Albus with you.”
“Clem, come on, he’s a prick! He doesn’t deserve you!” I yelled as Scorpius tried to drag me out.
“Jealous, baby brother?” James sneered.
That was it. I pushed Scorpius off me. “Fuck you James! I can’t believe you’d do this to her! You’ve known her for practically your entire life! Doesn’t that mean anything to you? Do you have a shred of respect for anyone? Or is it your life goal to just fuck up as many lives as possible?” I had screamed myself out. I couldn’t do it anymore.
“Leave Albus! Now!” Clementine screamed. Scorpius pulled me out into the hall.
“Come on mate, you can talk to James later.”
Clementine didn’t come back. We waited for her but she didn’t return. We all waited for her in silence, but she didn’t come back. Rosie looked like she was going to cry. I rested my head on Scorpius’s shoulder and waited. He had his arm draped around me and he held me close to him. It would have been perfect, if it weren’t for the fact that my best friend was gone.
Pretty soon the train screeched to a stop. We had reached the platform. Looking out, I could see Uncle Ron and Aunt Hermione waiting for Clem, Rosie, Hugo and me. I was staying with them for a few days before going home and then to the Burrow. We all gathered our things in silence and started out of the train. Before Scor left, I stopped him.
“Wait, before you go,” I reached up on my tip toes, pulled his head down a little and planted a quick kiss on his lips. You could almost taste the Irish. “I had to.”
He didn’t say anything for a while. He stood there in silence. Then a small smile broke out of his face.
“I’m really going to miss you Luce,” he said.
“Me too, but we’ll see each other soon enough!” I said cheerfully. “We always do!” The five of us often convened over Christmas, so I would see him soon.
“Yeah, you ready to go?” he asked, grabbing hold of my trunk.
“Wait, just so you know, I don’t want to tell my parents yet,” I said. “Dad still isn’t really used to the idea of us being friends, so I’d rather not drop that bombshell on him now.” When dad first found out that I was friends with Scorpius Malfoy in first year he practically had a heart attack. He still didn’t really like the idea of me associating myself with the Malfoys.
“No problem, we’ll act like nothing’s changed.”
“Thanks Scor, but they aren’t here right now, I’m going with Rosie,” I said, pointing outside to where Rosie, Clem and Hugo were waiting.
“Okay, I’ll write you,” he said as we exited the train. I saw his mother squash him in a giant hug. The Malfoys waved at me before heading out for their long journey back to Malfoy Cottage.
A/N: Another chapter up! I hope you liked this one! Scorpius has done it again and failed to tell Lucy that he doesn't really like her. Shame. And Clem! All her friends know now, so I guess some shit is about to go down :P Also, there will be some sensitive stuff towards the end of the next chapter, it isn't horribly explicit or anything, actually it's more implied than anything else, but it's still there, so I though I'd give you all a warning first :)
