Hermione sat in the bedroom that she was sharing with Ginny.
The Burrow was no longer filled with laughter or jokes, but tears and sorrow. Only two weeks a go the Battle that ended in Voldemort's death took place. Yet the pain that everyone felt was just as bad, just as ripe as it was that fatal day. George, of course, was the one that seemed to have suffered the most. Hermione couldn't even begin to imagine what it must feel like to have half your meaning taken away.
"'Mione? Are you coming down to breakfast?"
Ginny's voice came from the bottom of the stairs. Hermione rose and travelled down the stairs to the dining table where all of her friends were sat. Hermione took her seat next to Harry. Molly emerced with dishes of food and placed them along the table.
"Thank you Molly sweatheart."
Mr.Weasley said as he squeezed her hand.
Everyone soon began to fill their plates with the delicious foods when George came downstaris and smiled at everyone. Hermione examined him, he looked okay.His eyes were red and he had dark circles under his eyes, and for once his silky ginger hair was untouched and scruffy. Hermione decided she prefered his hair like this. George glanced over at Hermione then to the empty seat beside her, and again met her eyes. She smiled and nodded her head slightly to indicate that he could sit next to her.
George had a very big apetite and ended up having 3 helpings of breakfast.
"Thank goodness it's not just Ron who has a bottomless stomach!"
Hermione said as she smiled. She looked over to George and he was smiling as well. Hermione felt good that she had made George smile.
After everyone had finished Molly and Ginny began to clear the table.
"I've decided to go to the joke shop today to try and get it back up and running again."
"George hunny? Do you really think that to be a good idea?"
George glared over to Mrs.Weasley and she sighed.
Hermione was planning to go to Diagon Alley herself today and she thought about asking if George would mind her going with him. She sat thinking if she should go and ask him, when she came to the descion of asking him. She turned to ask him and he had already left, so she got up said thank you for the breakfast and went up to George's bedroom.
She got to his door and knocked lightly. She waited for a response.
"Come in.."
She slowly opened the door and smiled at him.
"Hi George. I was wondering whether you would mine me accompanying you to Diagon Alley, i was planning on going there myself today."
George sighed and rolled his eyes.
"Did my mum ask you to come with me?"
"What no! I just thought'd be nice if we both had company."
Hermione stepped away from the door and looked around the room. It was rather messy. There were a lot of items that Hermione suspected to be new projects for the joke shop. Eventually Hermione and George's eyes met. They smiled at eachother.
"I guess you can come along today, it'll be nice to have company again."
Hermione smiled at him.
"Great shall we go now then?"
George nodded and outstretched his arm. Hermione glanced at it and soon held onto his hand. The strangest felling erupted in Hermione's stomach... she felt nervous?! Why did she feel nervous about being around George?
