The first time I saw Sirius Black, I know he was mean for me.

He had every quality a girl could dream of. He was perfect.

He was mine.

Now, I wasn't going to resign myself to being one of his fan girls. No, I was not that hopeless. Neither was I going to be one of those girls who denied liking him even when it was so painfully obvious that she did.

Oh, no. I wasn't going to be the one who ran to him. Instead, I was going to become as notorious as he was for breaking almost every single girls heart and using them like Kleenex.

I was going to beat Sirius Black at his own game.

Gryffindor Common Room
Hogwarts, Scotland
12:56 A.M.

"What the hell are we doing?"

"If this is a joke, I'll murder whoever it is started this."

"I will kill their family,"

"Oh my god, what's wrong with you people?"

"I'm sleepy."

"We have lessons tomorrow."

"Shut up, I think I see someone coming."

A hush falls over the group of people that I've been gathered with in the middle of the Gryffindor common room. We sit draped over the plush sofas and armchairs, impatient and exhausted.

Why are we all here?

Well, you see, I'm not quite sure. On the ride to Hogwarts, Madeline Richard gave us all one message: "In the common room, 12:50 sharp."

And with Madeline, it's best to stay on good terms. She can make the most loved girl become the most hated, the meanest boy into the nicest. She's Hogwarts' silvertongue.

"I bet you're wondering why I've gathered you here today."

The voice came out of nowhere, and someone squealed. Madeline steps out from behind the sofa.

"I know you're all tired, so let me get to the point," she paused, looking in everyone's eyes. "I have picked 5 girls from Gryffindor, for one special reason which I shall reveal to you later." Looking cautiously back at the stairways to the dormitories, she moves in. "We are going to form a pact."

She paces quickly across the room. I steal a glance across the room at the other girls.

Lily Potter, who I find slightly snobbish. Pamela Perkins, the sweetest, most annoying girl ever. Brandy LeVaine, someone who I consider the same league as me, and Chloe Rovex, who isn't particularly pretty, but charming.

Hmm, none of these girls are the ones I'd usually hang out with. They'd probably say the same for me.

I focus my attention on Madeline. "This is our sixth year. Also, the year of the Ball of the Houses. I believe it's time we start to get the attention of the... Opposite sex." She skirts her eyes over us. "If you join me, I promise you, you WILL be successful in this. I will give you until the morning to decide."

She stops pacing abruptly. "As you leave, I'll give you the choice of knowing why I picked you."

She stands by the entrance to the girls' dorm. I look around at Lily, Chloe, Pamela and Brandy and see that they're all starting to rise, sizing each other up. We form a line up the stairs, Lily first, Chloe second, Brandy third, Pamela fourth and me last.

As they enter the dorm, all the girls hesitate but shake their heads no. Madeline raises an eyebrow at me.

"Yes or no?" She asks. I purse my lips. What's the worst that can happen? "Yes." I whisper. She smiles with satisfaction.

"I've been watching your behaviour, habits, interactions.... Lexi, you have the potential to break people... And feel nothing."
