Doin' Dirt~

Draco drummed his fingers in anxiousness. He was standing outside of Hermione's temporary apartment at Madame Barnes. The sun was about to set as wizards and witches scurried about to rush home. He had called her two minutes ago, telling her he was here.

"Be there in a second!" Her voice rang before hanging up.

He straightened out his tie for the millionth time and smoothed out his black suit. This date was the beginning. Of what? He had no clue. But something special was going to happen after today. Somehow, Hermione didn't seem like the shy bookworm mudblood she was at school. Now she looked like a intelligent fierce witch that had a knack for bringing people to their knees.

Just then the door of the building opened and out strode Hermione. His heart dropped. Everything he had seen in muggle movies came true. He heard violins in his ears as she walked towards him in slow motion. Her smile caused a series of butterflies to flutter in his stomach.

Hermione's chestnut hair was half up in an intricate twist while the rest cascaded into elegant curls. Her champagne strapless dress hugged her curves before flowing into a slim skirt ending above her knees as she held a matching clutch next to her hip. Her high heels made her almost as tall as Draco but still below his nose. Hermione's eyes gleamed into Draco's as he grinned.

"You look amazing," she said gazing at him as she walked closer.

"You look beautiful," he said softly, not realizing how close he was to her when he said it.

"Thank you. Shall we go?" She said whipping out her wand.

He grabbed her hand and prepared himself for the rest of the night.

(Hermione's POV)

We finally reached the wedding and took our seats close to the front. It was beautiful. Luna had adorned everything to look like a garden. The grass was as green as it could be under the shining sun that seemed to glow brighter every second. The altar was a large hollow tree with humming birds flittering above it.

I looked at Draco and felt my head go dizzy. I ignored the whispers that echoed as we walked in. All I could think about was his hand in mine. How perfect it felt... like it was meant to be that way forever.

The music began to play the traditional magical matrimony anthem, one I was unfamiliar with.

"Is this your first Wizard Wedding?" Asked Draco behind my ear. Shivers coursed through me as I felt the heat of his breath against the back of my neck.

I nodded, smiling as Rolf, Luna's about to be husband, strolled towards the tree.

"Well first, like all weddings, the groom walks in," he narrated. "Then, like muggle weddings as well, the bride and her father approach the alter."

Luna and Mr. Lovegood skipped down the aisle arm in arm smiling grandly. Luna looked beautiful in her green and pink flowy dress with her traditional radish earrings.

"Then the officiator begins the ceremony. It's like an unbreakable vow. Listen," he said as we turned back towards the alter and grabbed my hand.

"Good morning to you all! Today, we are here to witness this wizard and this witch join together in the most powerful magic of all: love. Mr. Rolf Scamander, would you please turn to Miss Luna Lovegood?"

Rolf turned and put out one hand and grabbed Luna's wrist as she did the same to his. The officiator drew out his wand and began to bound their wrists in streams of red.

"Do you Rolf take Luna to be your wife from now until you die?"

"I do." He said smiling.

"And do you, Luna, take Rolf to be your husband from now until you die?"

Luna grinned and I felt tears well in my eyes. "I do."

The bounds changed from red to gold before disappearing. I could feel the warmth of everyone in the meadow.

"You may kiss your wife."

Rolf and Luna closed together and kissed as everyone cheered for the couple. We stood up and clapped and smiled as they walked back down the aisle. As I stood I saw Ron, Harry, and Ginny standing on the other side of the altar. Ginny and Harry were smiling at each other and Ron was nuzzling a dark haired girl besides him. I couldn't tell who it was but something flared inside of me.

It wasn't jealousy. I didn't envy the girl on his arm. What was this feeling? It wasn't happiness or sadness. It was... Anger? Was I truly angry that Ron had moved on after I broke up with him? I clutched Draco a bit more firmly to remind myself who I was with.

Everyone went to the little barn Luna used as a dance floor. The Mused Brooms began to play lively songs as the bride and groom danced around. We took our seats before they announced for the rest of us to join them.

Some people drifted towards the floor and began to dance. I took a slow sip of my wine before feeling a touch on my shoulder. I turned to see Draco holding his hand open smiling.

"Miss Granger, would you give me the honour of dancing with you?"

"It would be my pleasure, Mr Malfoy," I giggled.

As we reached the floor, a slow melody began to play. I locked my arms around his neck as he hugged my waist closer to his hips. We were maybe an inch apart, if that. I could see each and every fleck in his greyish blue eyes gaze over my face before stopping at my lips.

I began to look at his. They were perfect. Not too full like a woman's but not too slim either like some men's. There wasn't any dryness on them. They looked as smooth as a stone on the beach as it was washed over and over again. His lips parted slightly and I felt myself lean in closer, like I was being pulled into him. We were two magnets that were strongly attracted to each other.

I felt his lips on mine as electrifying shocks traveled across my skin. I couldn't feel the floor anymore or hear any music. The only sense that was functioning was my taste as my tongue craved more of his mouth on mine. I deepened the kiss just as someone backed into me, breaking off our contact.

Fury rolled through me at the person who cut off the action for us. I turned to see Ron and... Astoria?

"Hermione..." Mumbled Ron as he turned to see us, his face blank.

"We're terribly sorry. We got so wrapped up in the music we weren't looking where we were going," chuckled Astoria.

I felt Draco tense underneath my touch and pressed my hand into the back of his neck softly to relieve him.

"Oh it's alright. Nice talking to you two," I said politely as I grabbed Draco's hand and walked back to our table.

Before we reached our seats, we bumped into Ginny and Harry.

"Hermione!" she said surprised immediately enveloping me in her arms as I heard Harry and Draco's hands slapping together in a shake.

"So... You two are together?" asked Harry shyly.

I smiled, remembering my brave and modest friend. "We're on our first date," Draco replied.

Ginny's eyes lit up at me and I looked down and smiled once more.

"Well, we're glad we bumped into you. Hermione, call me tomorrow?" said Ginny.

I nodded before Draco led me outside the barn where it was now dark. I could smell the musty oak masked by food. A small lamp illuminated the wall.

I stood against it as he looked at me and laughed.

"What?" I ask nervously.

"Nothing... nothing... Just. This night- it's been..."

"Weird," I finished for him.

"Yes... It has. But I've enjoyed every moment of it... Besides our exes interrupting us."

I laughed at his comment as he leaned against me once more, pushing me straight against the wooden wall.

"Which reminds me," he whispered, his nose just above mine. "Where were we?"
