Loud bangs and shouts erupted from the compartments of the Hogwarts Express only a few moments after Arianna had left Sirius, James and Remus to think about their conversation.
“What do you think she’s done?” James asked his two fellow Marauders as he looked down the corridor curiously.
“Who cares” Sirius scoffed at this question, pretending not to be interested in the new girl’s pranking abilities. He even tried to stop himself looking at the cloud of mist that had begun to materialize in the train corridor.
Remus laughed at his childish attitude towards Arianna, knowing all too well what the reason was behind it
“You’re just upset mate that she didn’t fall for your” he paused so he could swallow his smirk “charm”
“Are you bloody mad Moony? That is just the most complete bollocks you have ever said” Sirius glared, obviously annoyed.
“She not even that fit” he muttered.
Both boys rolled their eyes at this statement. They all knew that Arianna was good looking; perhaps James would argue that she wasn’t as beautiful as his “Lily Flower” however, pretty none the less.
It wasn’t a surprise that Sirius was brooding over the rejection of a girl. To be honest, it never happened. The boys knew that he liked to get what he wanted, or who, and usually he did. Sirius Black had grey smoldering eyes that danced with rebellion. With dark ebony hair and his pale complexion, girls went crazy in trying to capture his attention. Although all the marauders were popular with women, Sirius took it and used it, never having a serious relationship that could last over a month. He was not only skilled in the art of magic, but also seduction and it wasn’t hard to do, most girls fancied the pants off him already. He just had to choose.
But Arianna Cortez didn’t melt when he smiled at her. She didn’t faint when he kissed her hand.
No. Arianna Cortez didn’t even flinch. She wasn’t like most girls at Hogwarts.
“No Moony” Sirius spoke with determination, “there are more important matters to think about in this situation”
“Here we go” Remus thought, rolling his eyes at the dramatics
“Gentlemen” Sirius stood
“This is about honor, we are Hogwarts Marauders” he yelled in triumph and James whooped loudly, raising his fist in the air.
“And we must make sure that we live up to this title”
“Here here” James yelled, encouraging his best mate to continue the pep talk.
“Arianna Cortez is the enemy and we cannot, nay! Will not let her win, this is war” Sirius sat back down and looked darkly at the boys who looked just as solemn.
They knew there were some truths in his over dramatic war speech.
“You do have a point Padfoot’ Remus stated looking a bit surprised.
“Of course I do, we have been Hogwarts’ mischief makers since day one. Do we really want to forfeit our place to Cortez?”
“Hell no!” The boys yelled in unison
“Well let’s start planning mates, we need to show this girl who’s in charge around here” James grinned mischievously rubbing his hands together, ready to cause a bit of trouble.
Remus smiled as well, an idea popping in his head, as if a light globe had just switched on “And I think I know just the prank that will show it”
‘There’s our Moony we all love” James slapped in on the back in good humour.
Remus punched him lightly back then went straight into to planning what Hogwarts would soon remember to be the best prank the Marauders have ever produced.
Arianna was finished scaring the Hogwarts students in the neighboring compartments and decided to venture off to the far end of the train. She didn’t do very much skill wise, just simple spells and charms that made mist appear in the corridor and fake ghosts that chased students around if they left their compartments. It wasn’t that exciting but it did feed the hunger of creating a bit of mischief. It was also a warning to the students. A statement. It was to let them know that someone knew was coming to Hogwarts, someone not to be reckoned with.
“Hello Gorgeous, what are you doing in this end of the train”
She turned around to see a boy who looked almost her age maybe a year older. With white blonde shoulder length hair, it was slicked back to reveal his narrow face. His light skin made his cold blue eyes stand out and prominent cheek bones framed them. His jaw was a pointed shape, giving him an aristocratic appearance. His body language demanded superiority. He stared her down. His smile revealed malice.
He wasn’t alone either. Next to him on either side, stood two boys with twisted smiles on their faces. One boy in particular caught her attention.
“Are you lost?” the boy taunted.
He had grey eyes. His black hair was shorter than Sirius’s and although he was smaller and less good looking, Arianna knew that this boy and Sirius must have been related. Yet this boys eyes did not share the same warmth, no, this boys eyes were cold. He looked dangerous.
“I was actually looking for a bit of fun, I have obviously found some” Arianna stated slowly looking bored. If they thought she was going to run away screaming, they had another thing coming.
“Well that all depends really.” The boy walked closer to her, “on what kind of fun you were looking for”
The two boys snickered behind him, wolf whistling, making their friend laugh.
He was now close enough that she could feel his breathe on her skin. As he was about to grab her wrist, she slapped his hand away.
“What is with you boys trying to seduce innocent girls such as myself” she smirked wickedly.
The boys smile faltered and just as he was about to reach for his wand, Arianna punched him just below his stomach. He let out a low growl and fell over.
This is when the battle had begun.
Spells were shooting at her from the other two boys, she deflected them easily and shot spells back. She was careful not to harm them, just clever charms, jinxes and protection spells. It wasn’t long until all three boys were disarmed and frozen on the ground.
She always liked the Pretrificus Totalus spell, it always came in handy.
Before she could leave a girl with long red hair walked in with her face twisted in anger “If you boys think you can…” she stopped when she saw the scene in front of her.
Taking one good look at the ground to see the three boys frozen, she looked up at Arianna in shock.
‘I thought you were the Marauders playing tricks again”
‘What the devil is a Marauder?” Arianna asked plainly, raising an eyebrow in confusion
The girl snorted, “as I prefect I don’t condone magic being used outside of class, however” she paused and looked at the boys again “In this case, I didn’t see anything”
“Didn’t see what?” Arianna smiled
‘You’re the new girl aren’t you? We haven’t been introduced, I’m Lily Evans”
Arianna walked towards her “Arianna Cortez”
Lily smiled “Well Arianna, would you like to come sit me with and my friends?”
“Why not? I’ve got nothing to do now do I?” she laughed and nudged the blonde haired boy with her shoe.
‘Great, maybe when we are seated I can tell you and warn you about the Marauders” Lily scoffed
‘They sound like an interesting lot” Arianna laughed “Sounds very interesting indeed”
“More like annoying and stupid” Lily muttered and ushered her new friend to her compartment
