The next day, Hermione did her best to avoid Draco as much as possible. At breakfast she made the mistake of glancing at the Slytherin table and as if Draco could feel her eyes on him, he looked up and locked eyes with her. She could practically feel the heat of his gaze burning right through her and although she would never admit it to anyone, she was starting to like it. Hermione shook that thought out of her head and looked away, scolding herself for thinking like that about Draco Malfoy. Fiery gaze or not, he was completely dangerous and only a fool would think otherwise. Today Hermione realized just she much she saw Draco on a daily basis. She passed him in the hall four times on the way to classes and every time, her eyes never left his as they each walked with their friends.
All through lunch, Hermione couldn’t shake the feeling that she was being watched; She didn’t have to look to know that it was Draco. Being the fool that she felt she was becoming, she looked over and saw that Draco was not only not staring at her, but he was majorly distracted by Siobhan Kennedy; she was sucking on a lollipop and his eyes were glued to her mouth. Jealousy shot through Hermione’s body as she focused on Siobhan. This girl was the epitome of perfection and Draco was putty in her hands; Hermione didn’t understand how someone could be so flawlessly perfect. Of course, Hermione wanted nothing to do with Draco, she just wanted to march over to the Slytherin table and rip Siobhan’s hair out by the roots just because. Hermione mentally scolded herself for thinking like that and told herself over and over that she wanted nothing to do with Draco Malfoy. Siobhan pulled the sucker out of her mouth, licked her lips, and slowly wrapped her mouth around it again and Hermione rolled her eyes and brought her attention back to her friends.
A few tables over, Siobhan saw that Hermione had finally looked over and then away and she pulled the sucker out of her mouth and dropped it on her plate, “Will you please tell me what that nauseating display was about.”
She heard a few sounds of disappointment and looked over to see that all the guys within a five foot radius were staring at her with their jaws on the table. She rolled her eyes at them and turned her attention back to Draco, “Well?”
“It’s just a…project I’m working on.”
“Hermione Granger is a project? What in Merlin’s name would you want with Granger?”
Blaise was sitting on the other side of Siobhan and he leaned over to whisper in her ear, “He’s planning on defiling and disgracing the Gryffindor princess.”
Siobhan’s eyes went from Draco to Hermione and back again, “Please tell me he’s joking.”
Blaise smirked, “Do I sense a little jealousy?”
Siobhan turned her head and glared at Blaise, “Did you really just ask me that? What in the Hell do I have to be jealous about when it comes to Hermione Granger? That little twit can’t hold a candle to me.”
Blaise chuckled, “Way to hide the jealousy.”
Siobhan waved her hand dismissively at Blaise and turned back to Draco, “Why are you messing with her Draco?”
Draco sighed and dropped his half eaten apple onto his plate, “She’s just a know-it-all little witch who needs to be knocked down a few pegs and I plan on being the guy who’s going to do it.”
“That’s all well and good, but does it really have to involve sex? Sleeping with her will tarnish your reputation as a Slytherin.”
“First of all, I won’t be sleeping. Secondly, nothing I do could ever tarnish my reputation and you know that. If anything, destroying Granger’s innocence would raise my popularity.”
“He has a point.” Siobhan brushed off Blaise’s comment. “If you mess with her, her little followers will be out for your blood.”
“That may be, but it doesn’t mean they’ll get it.”
Siobhan sighed, “I don’t see why you are wasting your time on that Mudblood! There are plenty of girls around here to actually do want you!”
Siobhan got up in a huff and stormed out of the Great Hall. Blaise glared at his best friend, “I told you this would happen. You know how she feels about you; why would ask her to help you?”
“Who better to make Granger jealous?”
“Yea, at Siobhan’s expense. Do you really think hurting your friends is the best way to go about this? That girl has always been there for you, no questions asked and this is what she gets for it.”
Draco slammed his fist onto the table, “Ok, I get your point! I’ll go find her and apologize.”
“I’ll go with you; she’s less likely to kill you with witnesses.”
“Or she’ll just kill you too.”
“Touché.”
The boys got up and went in search of their wounded friend.
At the Gryffindor table, Hermione had been showing an immense amount of self-control by not looking at the Slytherin table after the lollipop showing. Only after she saw Draco leaving did she actually relax and start to enjoy her lunch. She finished her food, chatted with her friends and made a mental note of the books she needed to get at the library before her next class started. She grabbed her book bag, said goodbye to her friends and headed towards the exit.
As soon as Hermione was out of the Great Hall, she ran right into someone’s chest. “Oh, I’m sorry…” She stopped and glared when she saw who the chest belonged to.
Draco and Blaise were walking back to the Great Hall after they had had no luck in finding Siobhan. When a girl ran into Draco, he grabbed her arm to steady her and tightened his grip on it when he realized that it was Hermione, “Watch where you are going Granger!”
Hermione pulled her arm away, “Get your paws off me Malfoy!”
Draco grabbed her arm again and Hermione gasped when he almost pulled it out of the socket as he pulled her right against him so their noses were only inches from touching. His voice was so low Hermione barely heard him, “I told you to watch how you talk to me Granger. What’s it going to take to make you believe me?”
“You seem to be under the impression that I’m actually afraid of you.” Hermione spat as she tried to wrench her arm from Draco’s grasp.
“Get your hands off her Malfoy!” Harry yelled as he and Ginny exited the Great Hall. Quicker than he thought possible, his wand was out.
Malfoy loosened his grip but didn’t let go, “So nice of you to join us Potter. I was just having a few words with your girlfriend here.”
Harry tightened his grip on his wand, “I said…let her go.”
Hermione jerked her arm away from Malfoy and went over to Harry, “I’m fine Harry; let’s just go.”
Draco saw the look on Harry’s face and smirked, “If I wanted to point my wand at Granger’s head and end her miserable life right now, do you really think you could stop me?”
Harry stepped closer, “There’s only one way to find out.”
Draco whipped his wand out and stepped closer and Hermione and Ginny both jumped in between them and Blaise stepped up to back his friend. Ginny put her hand on Blaise’s chest to stop him and Hermione put her hand on Harry’s wand, “Harry don’t; he wants you to do this! Let’s just get out of here.”
Ron, Seamus, Neville, and Dean came out and Ron jumped in, “What’s going on here?”
Hermione pulled Harry away from Malfoy, “Nothing. Now let’s go!”
Ginny’s hand was still on Blaise’s chest and she looked at him and saw that he was leering at her, “You better stay out of this one Red; I’d hate for someone as pretty as you to get hurt.”
Ron’s face turned beet red but Ginny grabbed his arm and pulled him away.
They started to leave and Draco glared at Hermione, “This isn’t over Granger.”
Ron started to turn around but Ginny tightened her grip on his arm, “Don’t!”
Hermione and Ginny pushed both the boys down the hall and the rest of their friends followed.
Draco kept his hand on his wand until they were all out of sight, then he put it back in his robes, “Fuck the part where I shag Granger senseless, I’m just going to kill her.”
“Or you could just leave her alone.” Siobhan came walking up to them after witnessing the scene.
Draco gritted his teeth, “Not now Siobhan.”
She grabbed Draco’s arm and looked at Blaise, “Can you give us a minute? I need to have a little chat with my friend here.”
Blaise put up his hands in surrender, “Chat away; I’ll see you guys in Transfiguration.”
He walked off down the hall and Siobhan pulled Draco into a more deserted section of the hall, “Did you see what just happened? It was you and Blaise against seven Gryffindors! I know that you think pretty highly of yourself, but not even the great Draco Malfoy can take on seven people with wands.”
Draco looked at her like she was crazy, “I didn’t plan for any of that Siobhan! My plan is to get Granger alone. You don’t see how she acts when it’s just me and her; this is going to be a piece of cake. I wish you would have a little faith in me.”
Siobhan released Draco’s arm, “I do have faith in you Draco. Maybe that’s the problem; I have too much faith in you.”
Draco was beginning to lose his patience, “What the Hell does that even mean?!”
Siobhan did lose her patience and she pushed Draco into the wall, “It means that I’ve been wasting entirely too much time on you!”
“Well, that’s you own damn fault; don’t blame your obsession on me!”
Draco immediately regretted those words when he saw the look on Siobhan’s face change from furious to devastated in less than a heartbeat.
“Siobhan, I’m-“ Draco reached out to take her hand, but she jerked it away from him like he was a flame.
“You are absolutely right Draco; it’s not your fault. I’ll be sure that my little obsession never bothers you again.”
Siobhan turned around and ran off before Draco could stop her. Draco’s hand balled into a fist and he punched the wall and let out a string of obscenities that would have gotten him detention for a month had a professor been around. All reason went out of Draco’s head and he decided that Hermione was to blame for his and Siobhan’s fight and she was going to pay for it.

End of 3.
I’m sorry it took so long to update. I had a little mishap with my finger and a meat slicer and I was out of commission for a while. Thanks for not giving up one me! :)
