“Bella, it's my choice now just go!” The voice shouted, breaking the silence that had fallen upon the living room. The women who had shouted was stood up, towering over the other women who remained seated on the luxurious cream sofa, a vacant expression on her face. The women who was standing had long blonde hair that was blazing around her and her eyes seemed to sparkle madly with the tears that lay there, unwilling to fall in her sisters presence.
“Narcissa you listen to me and you listen to me now. If you do this the dark lord will think you are betraying him, going behind his back. You wouldn't want that now would you?” Her tone was flat, with just a hint of desperation falling through. Clearly she wasn't as nonchalant as she was making out to be. The women called Narcissa let out of cry that sounded like an animal being wounded before the first tear escaped and descended her pale cheeks, but she wiped it away angrily.
“My son, my only child.” Her voice broke on the word child and more tears fell but this time she let them. “He's all I've got left and I'm not going to sit here and let him be used as a, as a pawn in his games.”
“You still have Lucius and you know he would be proud to let Draco do he Dark Lord's bidding. It is an honour and you should be happy Draco,”
“Happy! Happy! Why on earth should I be happy?” She interrupted, her temper getting the better of her. “It's Lucius' fault we're in this mess, if he hadn't wanted to join up as a death eater, if he hadn't insisted on going on that catastrophe of a mission he would still be here and me and Draco wouldn't be left to fix his problems. If he had listened to me everything would be fine, but no, why should a man, a pure blood man listen to a women, a lowly women like me. Being a pure blood counts for nothing if you're a women.” She sank onto the seat next to her sister who was shaking her head.
“Cissy, you didn't want to join so you didn't, but you couldn't have stopped Lucius and you can't stop Draco now.” Her voice had taken on an almost comforting tone but she made no move to comfort her sister in any other way.
“Draco doesn't know what he's doing, he's sixteen. A child!” She put her head in her hands and her shoulders shook with renowned sobs before she suddenly stood back up. “There is a way,” she muttered and Bellatrix thought she was talking more to herself then to her. “Yes, he like him, trusts him even.”
“Who?” Bellatrix asked standing up to join her sister, she had a bad feeling about this.
“Snape,” she breather and Bellatrix almost lost her temper but managed to reign control it.
“Him, him! You have to be kidding, he's nothing but a coward and you know it. Living in Dumbledore's pocket, doing his bidding instead of the Dark Lords.” Her eyes flashed dangerously but her sister didn't even appear to have heard her never mind saw her eyes flash.
“Right, he lived in, in emm, Spinners End.” She muttered again and before Bellatrix could blink she was gone. Cursing under her breath she spun around and followed her sister out of there, to Spinners End apparently.
You don't have to be shell, No
You're the one that rules your world, ohh
You are strong and you'll learn
that you can still go on
It was almost two years later had things had progressed much further then Narcissa ever though they would. Lucius was out of Azkaban and he was still telling her what was right and what wasn't and she was getting more and more infuriated by the day. On this particular night her and Lucius were stood with the Dark Lord and the rest of his followers facing Hogwarts,or what was left of Hogwarts and most of the students, staff and members of the order of the phoenix who had assembled in front of it. Unlike the majority of the death eaters who had an air of excitement around them, they wanted to continue to kill, harm and hurt all of them, they wanted to be victorious. Narcissa felt none of this, she wanted Draco and she wanted to go, she wouldn't have even been here had it not been for Lucius and his wish to show support to the Dark Lord.
At that moment the Dark lord was telling everyone who was there how he was now in charge and anyone who didn't play along with his rules wouldn't be around much longer. She didn't doubt him for a second, he was a cold callous monster who would stop at nothing to get what he wanted. Even pulling children into his schemes, luckily Draco had survived his plan without actually killing anyone and she hoped he could make it out of the war safe. Lucius had started to call Draco over to them and for once she agreed with him, backed him up even. Thankfully Draco started walking over to Narcissa and Lucius and when the battle erupted Narcissa placed an arm around Draco and walked off, away from the fighting.
She didn't even want to know if Lucius had followed, yes I hurt like hell just to walk away from him; she did actually love him but she had to finally put Draco first. She had to stop listing to him, stop following his stupid irresponsible actions and protect her and Draco. She could do it, she knew she could, there was no doubt in her mind and she would prove to him you didn't need to follow a leader to get somewhere. The road ahead seemed long but she would come out fighting, she always did.
