Maria Hill sighed and opened the last room she hadn’t checked yet. After going through each and every room in Stark Tower, there was no trace of the Avengers anywhere. She had tried phoning Tony Stark, Dr. Banner, Agent Romanoff, and Agent Barton with no avail. They had to be in here somewhere!
Looking around the room, she saw that the room was indeed far from untouched, but there was an absence of any presence within the last few hours. Steve’s shield was lying there on the floor, and Clint’s bow and arrows sat untouched on the sofa. There was a missing chair at the breakfast bar, and as for the breakfast bar counter, it was a mess. Metal pieces and trinkets were everywhere, and on the floor were some tools and a bag of cold, uneaten shawarma.
Making her way to the breakfast counter, Agent Hill spotted a huge piece of butcher paper lying underneath all the clutter. It was messy with pencil smudges and held many scratch-outs and diagrams done in pen. Gently sliding the blueprint from underneath the mess, she analyzed it and read the title which said, The De-Aging Time Pendant! With raised eyebrows, she looked over the facts that were scattered all over the paper.
“I wonder what Fury would make of this.” She muttered softly to herself. This was clearly the work of Banner and Stark.

“Director Fury, I believe the Avengers, and Loki, are considered missing.” Maria Hill announced stiffly, stepping into the debriefing room of the Tower. Nick Fury, who was standing looking out the window, turned abruptly, his eyebrows furrowing in suspicion.
“What do you mean, ‘missing’?” Fury said in a low, dangerous voice, eying the agent with a look that she ought to explain. The Avengers, he didn’t really worry about being missing. Well, he took that back, he did care, but it wasn’t that big of a problem opposed to Loki. It was Loki he was concerned about.
“What I mean Director,” Agent Hill said taking a deep breath. “Is that they are lost. They are lost in time.”
“Yeah right, and I’m Mace Windu disguised with an eye patch, lost on earth from a fallen starship.” Fury deadpanned in lame sarcasm. His tone however, was dangerously calm. “Now Agent Hill, if this is all fun and games, I expect you to stop.”
“I’m not playing games, Director.” Agent Hill said through a clenched jaw. “I’m being dead serious. The room they must’ve been in last night is a complete mess. There’s tools and metal all over the bar counter, Roger’s and Barton’s equipment is lying around, there’s untouched take-out food on the floor and they left this.” She shoved a rolled piece of butcher paper into the Director’s hands who looked at her with an eyebrow raised.
“Mind if you explain, Agent Hill?” Fury asked, not bothering to unroll the piece of paper, but Maria only sniffed impatiently.
“It’s a blueprint sir, the answer to your questions as to why they’re not here and why they haven’t answered to any calls and mysteriously have left without telling us.”
Director Fury sighed and unrolled the butcher paper. “I suppose you’re not giving up on this time travel game, hmm?” Agent Hill glared at her Director, but said nothing else.
At first, his expression was quite impressed and surprised to what he saw, but as the information soaked in, his face turned enraged. Maria Hill watched the Director with a smug face.
“Believe me now, Director?” She asked as Fury looked up from the blueprint. Agent Hill allowed herself to wipe the smirk away. Never mock Fury when he was mad.
“Tell me Agent Hill, why didn’t we keep Banner and Stark separated when we knew they didn’t have anything to do after everything had settled?” He asked in a low voice. Agent Hill merely shrugged, keeping a straight posture and a blank expression.
“I don’t know sir.”
“And tell me how the hell they managed to go back in time with something they invented overnight!” Fury slammed his fist on the table, staring at Agent Hill accusingly, as if she knew the answers. Maria only shook her head.
“I don’t know sir.” She said. Fury sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose as if he was undergoing a sever migraine.
“Pack your bags, Agent Hill, we’re going to the U.K.” Fury announced, striding for the door, the blueprint in his clenched grasp.
“We’re going to the U.K., what for? What does the U.K. have to do with anything?” She asked, following the Fury out of the room. They were now pacing side by side down the hall, their footsteps in synch.
“The U.K is our only hope in finding where these damn idiots are now. And remind me, Agent Hill. When we get those damn idiots back here, remind me that Doctor Banner and Mr. Stark are no longer allowed to buddy together in experiments without the watchful eyes of a fucking agent!”
“Understood, Director.” Maria said briskly. However, instead of making their way for the private jet, like Maria expected, they made their way into a room with a single sofa and fireplace. A very cozy room indeed!
“Erm, Director, I thought we’d be travelling on jet.” Agent Hill asked stiffly, and she watched Fury dig into his long, black trench coat filled with pockets inside. Agent Hill could’ve guessed there was around a hundred.
“We could go by jet, Agent Hill. But this is urgent.” Fury said taking out a container filled with green powder. Reading the faded label, Agent Hill could make out the words that spelled ‘FLOO’.
“Now just follow my lead, Hill.” Fury said, tossing the container to her. Maria caught it, feeling bemused as she watched the Director step into the fireplace. Had Fury lost his marbles? What was he doing, climbing into the fireplace like that?
“The Ministry of Magic, Auror, Kingsley Shacklebolt’s office!” Fury declared, and dropped the powder to his feet. Maria was hovering between the state of feeling amused and concerned; however, in a split second he was then devoured by green flames and was gone.
Maria Hill swallowed. First time travelling, now this? Though she wasn’t a fan of the Harry Potter fandom, she had been forced to listen to her eight year old nephew gibber about the books. Was she dreaming? Or did her Director already loose his mind? Not believing she was doing this, she followed suit and stepped into the fireplace.
“The Ministry of Magic, Auror, Kingsley Shacklebolt’s office!” Maria boldly declared, and as she threw the powder, she too was devoured in flames.
Author’s Notes: It’s really short, and a bit boring, I know. And yes, I could’ve made it longer, but this is only a short snippet. I didn’t want to drag on something that didn’t need to be dragged on so much. And for some reason, I CAN picture Director Fury pulling out a purple light saber from his many pockets. I just felt like the Star Wars sarcastic reference was needed. It felt right. Anyway, the Star Wars reference belongs to, well, Star Wars, and the characters you recognise belongs to Marvel! The next chapter, however, is going to be much more detailed and longer, at least, hopefully... Oh, can't you wait for the little ickle Potters?
