But I'm getting ahead of myself. To continue the ending I need to tell the start, and I'm not talking about a boy being born, or his parents getting killed but he survived. No I'm talking about something that happened seven years later. The day that changed everything. The day that eight year old Danni Philips and her parents went out for their yearly family camping trip. As they were out hiking they thought they heard someone following them. All of a sudden whoever was following them attacked Danni. Her parents pulled him off of her only to discover he was a vampire. They quickly apperated to Saint Mungos. They waited for an excruciatingly long hour before a healer came out to get them. On the way to the room the healer told them that Danni was going to be fine but that she was going to be a half vampire and that they didn't know how many of the symptoms she was going to have, but that she shouldn't need to drink blood. So Danni grew up as the fastest and strongest kid on the block. Her parents were worried that she wouldn't be able to attend Hogwarts though. But after many letters to Dumbledore assuring him that she did not drink blood she was accepted into Hogwarts.
"Hi" Danni said nervously to the cute blond next to her on the platform.
"Who are you?" he said quite rudely.
"My name is Danni Phillips"
"Oh I'm Draco Malfoy. You must be the half vampire."
"Um, yes. How did you know?"
“Dumbledore had to send something out to all the parents to make sure that they were ok with it and then I noticed how sharp your incisors are.”
“Oh. They are kind of sharp aren’t they.”
“You don’t drink blood, right?”
“Eww. No, of course not. I’m only a half vampire, not a normal one and anyways, blood is gross.”
“Good. I better go; my mum is probably worried because I’m not back yet.
See you on the train.” He yelled over his shoulder as he walked away. Danni was happy that she had made a new friend already. Maybe school wasn’t going to be as challenging as she had thought, I mean sure the classes are going to be hard but she was worried about nobody wanting to be her friend. For the first time in a while she began to feel more normal, like she had finally found a place where she fit in.
“Danni, hurry up. You’re going to miss the train.” Her mum yelled. Danni gave her parents one last hug before she hopped onto the train. After waving to her parents until they reached the curve she walked down the corridor trying to find a compartment that had room. Spotting that the compartment that Draco was in had some room she knocked and asked if she could come in.
“Who’s she?” the bigger of the two other boys in the compartment asked.
“This is Danni. She’s the half vampire.” Draco replied. Danni shot them a wicked grin, making sure they could see her incisors. The other boys shrunk back in their seats a little.
“What are your names?” Danni asked.
The shorter on replied “I’m Crabbe and this is Goyle.”
“Oh. Those are your last names I assume. May I know your first names?”
“Their first names are Gregory and Vincent. It’s Vincent Crabbe and Gregory Goyle.” Draco said.
“Vincent and Gregory?” Danni snickered.
“You have a problem with that?” Goyle asked standing up.
“No. I Don’t. ” She said flashing her pointy incisors again.
“Right.” He said sitting back down.
“So what house are you hoping to be in?”
“Slytherin.” They all said at the same time.
“What about you?” Draco asked.
“I don’t know. I just really hope it’s not Hufflepuff.” Danni replied.
“I think I’d rather be Hufflepuff then Gryffindor.”
“Gryffindor’s not that bad. Both my parents were in Gryffindor. ”
“Oh, well I just hope we all get in Slytherin.”
For a while they all sat silent. Danni used that time to think about if she really wanted these people to be her friends, after all Slytherin produced the darkest wizard of all time and most of his followers. Most likely if it weren’t for him she wouldn’t be a half vampire, until he came around vampires only lived in America. He brought them to Great Britten for his own personal uses. Deciding that she would just wait and see what house she was in before she decided she broke the silence.
“So what do your parents do for a living Draco?”
“Why do you want to know?” He replied.
“Well it just seems like your family is pretty well off so I just thought that they must have good jobs.”
“Oh, I don’t really know what they do for a living.”
“How do you not know?”
“I just don’t o.k.?”
They shifted back into an uncomfortable silence. Just when Danni thought she couldn’t take it anymore a lady knocked on the door to their compartment.
“Anything from the trolley dears?”She asked.
“Sure.” Draco said. “Danni you want anything.”
“No, I’m good but thanks for asking.”
After Draco paid for what he had bought he tossed Danni a chocolate frog.
“I told you I didn’t need anything.” Danni said.
“I said want, not need. Anyways if you don’t want it I’ll give it to Crabbe or Goyle.”
“Fine, I’ll eat it.” She grumbled.
“Want to play a game of wizard’s chess?”
“Sure, but just as a warning I’m pretty good. I beat my mum and dad every time.”
“Sure, sure. Say what you want to, even if it’s not true.”
They started playing. In less than five minutes Danni had Draco beat.
“Wow you weren’t lying.” Draco said.
“Of course I wasn’t.”
“So what do you want to do know?”
“I don’t know. Oh wait, I have an idea. There’s this muggle game called Truth or Dare.”
“How do you play it?”
“I ask you Truth or Dare and you have to pick one. So if you pick truth than I ask you a question and you have to tell me the honest answer or if you pick dare then I dare you to do something and you have to do it. And then it’s your turn to ask me Truth or Dare.”
“Alright, let’s play.”
“Truth or Dare?”
“Have you ever kissed a girl?”
“No. My turn. Truth or Dare?”
“Have you ever drunk blood?”
“Yes. When I was in Saint Mungo’s they had me try it to see what my reaction was. It was gross! Ok, Truth or Dare?”
“I dare you to lick the bottom of your shoe.”
“Eww! Gross! No! That’s repulsive!”
“You have to.”
“Fine.” He takes of his shoe and licks the bottom of it.
“There that wasn’t that bad was it?”
“My turn. Truth or Dare?”
“I dare you to lick the bottom of your shoe.”
“O.k.” She gives the bottom of her shoe a long deliberate lick.
“My muggle friends make me do it all the time.”
“Yeah it kind of is. But they’ve made me do worse.”
“Eat bugs, drink out of the toilet, eat a fish raw, lick…”
“Ok, enough. That is thoroughly disgusting.”
They sat in silence for a while.
“We should probably get our robes on. We’ll be there soon.” Danni said. They all got their robes on. Just as they were sitting back down the train started to slow down. When the train came to a stop they got off.
“Firs’ years ov’r here.” They heard someone say the turned to face him.
“Wow! He’s huge!” Danni exclaimed.
“He’s a half giant. I heard he’s kind of wild.” Draco replied
They get in a boat together along with Crabbe and Goyle. The boats start gliding across the lake by themselves.
“Wow it’s like magic.” They hear someone yell.
“It is magic you idiot.” Draco yells back. Everyone in the boat starts laughing so hard that the boat shakes. They all stop laughing when they see Hogwarts.
“Wow it’s beautiful.” Danni whispers.
“It’s bigger than my house!” Draco said, a shocked expression on his face. “I thought my dad was joking!”
“Your house must be pretty big then.”
“Yeah it is.”
They get of the boats and follow the half giant that they had heard was named Hagrid. They are taken into a huge entrance hall. Draco walks up to a kid in the front.
“So your Harry Potter. Listen there are some wizards that are better than others and those are the ones you want to make friends with. I can help you there.” Draco said.
“I think I can figure that out on my own.” Harry replied turning away from Draco.
“That was harsh.” Danni said.
“Yes it was.” Draco said.
“He seems kind of mean.”
“I really hope I’m in a different house than him. I hope I’m in Slytherin.”
