As we mounted our brooms and headed up to the sky, I noticed that we were going in the opposite direction of the Burrow. I guess we weren’t going there.
After what seemed like forever, we started our descent to the ground. We came into a little park area between two sets of townhouse buildings. Moody led us to one side and showed Harry a piece of paper. He looked at it then stared at the buildings. The next second it started to expand. I was amazed, although I probably should have expected something like it since I’ve been in the magical community for four years.
Inside, there was a long hallway. There was a door slightly ajar at the end of it and Harry and I glanced inside. Sirius, Remus, and a bunch of other people were in the room. Mrs. Weasley came out.
“Harry! Natalie! It’s good to see you! I’m sorry but dinner will have to wait until after the meeting.”
“But what…” Harry started.
“Ah, no time to explain. Go upstairs and your room is the first door on the left. Natalie, you will be sharing a room with Ginny. She’ll show you where it is.” We nodded and ascended the stairs.
Just as we entered the room, Hermione threw herself at Harry. I walked past them and made my way to hug Ron.
“How’s your summer been so far?” he asked. I smiled.
“It’s been good. I spent a few weeks with Draco and his family!” He sneered.
“I will never understand how you like that foul, evil…”
“Ron…” I warned. “Please. I don’t want to get into a fight over this. Haven’t we all agreed to keep our opinions to ourselves? Didn’t we all agree to just let it go and be glad that I’m happy?” He nodded.
“So, what is this place?” Harry asked.
“Headquarters.” Ron answered.
“For the Order of the Phoenix. It’s a secret society Dumbledore formed back in the first war.” Hermione elaborated.
“Why haven’t you put this in any letters? I haven’t gotten any news all summer!” Harry exclaimed.
“Dumbledore didn’t want us telling you anything.” Hermione said.
“Dumbledore?” They nodded. “Well I should know! I’m the one that saw Cedric Diggory get murdered! I saw Voldemort return! I fought him! I should have gotten news!!!!”
“Mate...” Ron said.
“No! None of you know what it was like!”
“Actually Harry, I was there too.” I said. He growled.
“Oh, just shut up.”
“No, I won’t shut up! You need to! You need to get that thick head of yours out of your arse and learn to let people help you! Stop shutting us out!” I shouted.
There was a sudden pop, and we all jumped. “Heard you shouting, mate.” George said.
“Yeah, there’s no need to keep it bottled up. Let it out.” Fred added. Harry grabbed a book off the bedside table (probably one of Hermione’s) and chucked it at the wall. It flew right in between Ron and me. He looked at me as if he just used an Unforgivable Curse and as he was about to apologize, I stormed out of the room and sat down on the top step.
“Jerk.” I mumbled.
“Yeah, brothers can be real gits sometimes. I would know.” Fred said as he sat down next to me and wrapped an arm around my shoulders. I laid my head on his shoulder and sighed.
“He’s been so angry and shutting me out again.”
“Well, he did witness his greatest enemy that wants to see him dead come back from almost not existing.”
“I was there too, you know.” He sighed.
“Yes, but you have things to keep you distracted from the haunting memories.” He faked cough and I thought I heard him mutter, “Malfoy” under his breath. I playfully slapped him on the leg.
“What?” he asked. I laughed as he smirked. “Now, if you’re all done moping about, let’s do something more interesting.”
He pulled out a string with two rubber ears on each end.
“What are those?” I asked.
He smiled proudly. “These are Extendable Ears. We can hear what the Order is talking about. George and I developed them.” I laughed.
“Do they work?” He looked offended.
“Did you just ask me that?” he asked while dramatically placing a hand over his heart. “I can’t believe you doubt my awesomeness!” I laughed.
He smiled as he stood up and pulled me up with him. We met up with Ron, Hermione, George, Harry, and Ginny at the railing. Fred dropped one end of the ear to the ground and held the other one so we could hear the discussion of the Order members. Unfortunately, Crookshanks ate it when the really interesting parts came up.
When we were called for dinner, we ran down the steps while Fred and George apparated. Mrs. Weasley yelled at them, of course. I saw Remus and ran to give him a hug.
“How was your summer?” he asked. I grinned.
“It was awesome! I got to spend a few weeks at Draco’s house.”
“Draco who? Malfoy?” Sirius asked as he was eavesdropping while catching up with Harry.
“Yes.” I replied.
“Why in the bloody hell would you want to do that?”
I sighed. “He’s my boyfriend, remember?” He rolled his eyes. The four of us finally made it downstairs to eat after talking for a bit longer.
I sat down in between my twins. “So Nat, your birthday is a week away.” George said.
“Yup,” Fred said. “August sixth. Is there anything you want?”
“You guys don’t have to get me anything.”
“Well, why wouldn’t we?” George asked.
“You are our favorite Potter.” Fred finished. I laughed. I loved how they finished each other’s sentences. I sighed.
“I don’t have anything specific in mind.” The room all of a sudden got quiet. I looked around and saw Sirius talking. I tuned in, but only caught the end when Mrs. Weasley interrupted.
“He’s a boy! If you say anything more, you might as well induct him into the Order!” she exclaimed.
“Good.” Harry replied. “If Voldemort has an army, then I want to fight!” I smiled. He was and will always be the hero.
A/N: And here’s Chapter 5! The conversation between Harry, Nat, Hermionne, Ron, Fred, and George, and Mrs. Weasley (that includes in the dining room) belongs to J.K. Rowling in the Order of the Phoenix! Sorry for the long update! I haven’t been able to get to a computer due to other things getting in the way. Also, school just started for me this week, so the next update will probably be long as well. Please read and review!!
