A/N Hi guys, this is just something I had wanted to write for a while. I just whipped it out about an hour, so don't judge to harshly. It's set with the same characters as another of my stories, Reckless, and I highly recommend reading that first if you haven't already read it, as this story contains a couple spoilers for that one. Thanks and enjoy!

Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter (JK Rowling) or the song Free Ride (JaneDear Girls).

Just because I don't have a diamond ring
Doesn't mean I'm gonna be your dirty fling.
I'm just dancing with my girls on a Friday night.
Don't need you buying me a drink to have a good old time.

Lily stalked into the club, smirking, with her friends flanking her- her cousins, Molly, Lucy, Dom and Rose to her left, her newest friend, Karen Appleby, and Adele Thomas, an old friend, behind and to her right, and her best friend, Lyra Malfoy, to her immediate right with a matching smirk on her face. That's right, a Potter and a Malfoy were friends. But Lyra and Scorpius were fine by the Potter-Weasley standards.

The whole gang was out for post graduation celebration party.

Lucy, Rose, and Dom immediately began dancing with the nearest blokes, although Rose danced the most with Lyra's brother Scorpius, and Dom seemed to have taken a liking to Lysander Scamander. Karen was dancing shyly with her steady boyfriend, Hugo, who handled her as though she was made of glass. Adele just waded into the crowd to do her own thing.

Lily, Molly, and Lyra pushed their way through to the center of the floor, twisting deftly through the pulsing crowd of people. In the middle, they began dancing. Molly was shy, but graceful. Lyra was wildly energetic, her platinum blonde hair flying everywhere, but also strangely alluring, and, even with the diamond ring glinting on her left hand, every guy in the club had looked at her at least once. And Lily was oozing sexy.

Plenty of eyes followed Lily, in her tight gold mini skirt and bright red tube top (ever the Gryffindor), both of which clung just right. Pretty soon, one of those pairs of eyes was brave (or cocky) enough to come up and dance with her.

At first it was fine. The boy was cute, with shaggy chocolate brown hair and bright blue eyes. Tall, a little on the lanky side. But then his hands started wandering. The first time, she smacked his hands away. The next, she whirled on him.

"I'm not a whore and that seems to be where you're going with this!"

He smirked at her. "Why shouldn't it happen? You're not engaged, like your friend over there. I'll even buy you a drink."

I know that you wanna take me home.
You wanna take a little drive just to get me alone.
But I'm a good girl,
Momma taught me watch my back
I gotta stay away from boys who play like that
Cause there's no such thing as a free ride
Good night.

Lily tapped her chin sarcastically. "Hm, let me think about that, NO!" she said bitingly. "You just want me to get in your car and go home so you can get some. That's not how I roll, you wanker, so just turn around and walk away now." She made a little twirling motion with her finger, then turned her back to him and started dancing again.

As her flaming hair swirled out to form a fiery halo, she fumed about the prick. Mum had warned her and Lyra had taught her a few good ways to persuade someone to let go. Then she shrugged. The world was full of stupid people. She didn't let them bother her for long.

I've heard those lame lines way too much.
You can look all you want, but you can't touch.
Don't tell me 'bout your tricked out four wheel drive.
I can see just what is on your mind.

"Did it hurt when you fell from heaven?" came a voice from behind her. "Cause you must be an angel."

Lily spun around, exasperated. "That is the oldest line in the book. If you can't even bother to be creative, I'm not going to pay attention."

Another pair of staring eyes had detached itself from the crowd, this time an Asian boy about 19 and well muscled. He flexed, smiling and not at all perturbed by her rejection, and put an arm around her shoulders.

"Don't be like that baby. Why don't we go outside and I can show you the four wheel drive on my car. We can go to a private field, if you know what I mean."

Lily rolled her eyes. Yet another boy thinking with his pants. She shrugged his arm away violently.

I know that you wanna take me home.
You wanna take a little drive just to get me alone.
But I'm a good girl
Momma taught me watch my back
I gotta stay away from boys who play like that
Cause there's no such thing as a free ride.

"Like I don't know where that's going.  Try her if you want that," Lily said, pointing to a blonde whose outfit could not accurately be described as a dress, seeing as it didn't cover anything at all.

Lilt turned on her heel and stalked off to the bar.

Hey, maybe you're stuck living in a dream
Or some kinda wicked fantasy.
I know that you want what you can't see.
Got news for you, that'll never be.
Sorry pretty boy, but you're outta luck
I'm never gonna jump in the back of your truck.
Go try your tricks on another one.
If that's what you want then
Back up
Back up.

Lily stood, arms folded on the bar, and ordered a Firewhiskey. As she waited, she heard someone come up behind her. She turned, already sighing, to see the first boy, back and leering at her. Oh bloody hell, this is not happening.

He ruffled his hair in a way that remained Lily of James and that only made her angrier. What business did this wanker have, reminding her of her older brother?

He stepped closer and pinned her against the bar, with an arm on either side as she glared up at him, arms crossed. "Hey baby," he whispered huskily. "How about you and I go out to my truck and... get to know each other better?"

Lily's eyes (and her temper) flared. "Who the hell do you think you are?" she asked hotly. "No, no, NO,  not if you were the last man on earth! Not if I were starving and you were the only person for a hundred miles with food! This is not a dream, this is no fantasy, this is reality, so get it through your THICK HEAD that you are as not as irresistible as you seem to think you are and that I am NOT going home with you! Now BACK! OFF!"

She shoved him off with the last words.

I know that you wanna take me home.
You wanna take a little drive just to get me alone.
But I'm a good girl
Momma taught me watch my back
I gotta stay away from boys who play like that
Cause there's no such thing as a free ride

As the boy came back towards her, fists clenched and eyes angry, Lily saw Lyra out of the corner of her eye holding back James and Al, with her head cocked and a smirk on her face.

No more time for that, Lily turned her attention to the angry boy. As he came toward her, she snapped her leg up and out. Her foot flew past his arms, crossed instinctively over his crotch, and slammed into his stomach, winding him and sending him staggering back. She followed up with a right hook to the jaw. Lily's punch had surprising force, given that she was so much smaller than him, but he still crashed to the floor, semi-conscious.

Lily stepped back, shaking her hand, with a satisfied smile on her face. She turned towards the shocked people. "Anyone else got a problem?" she asked. The floor seemed a very interesting place for many people all of a sudden. "That's what I thought," she replied.

And then she downed her Firewhiskey and went back to dancing.

Good night.
No such thing as a free ride.
