“ASPEN SEPTEMBER ISABELLA ANNELIESE POWELLS GET YOUR BUTT DOWN HERE!” Kyle yelled from downstairs. I rolled my eyes, brothers. Yet I knew that they would come up here any second to drag me downstairs so I put the last of my lip stain on and went down stairs.

“Relax Kyle.” I said once I reached the living room. We were all going by floo powder to the Burrow, since muggles can use it. All of my family had used it before.

“Aspen, why don’t you go first?” My mum asked, and I nodded and stepped into the fireplace.

I got a handful of floo powder from next to the fireplace. “The Burrow!” I cried, a few seconds later I stepped out of the Weasley’s fireplace and into the crowded living room. I waited for my family too arrive.

When they arrived I began introducing them to everyone. All the Weasleys and Potters were there, plus the Longbottoms and the Scamanders and now the Powells! Oh and Scorpius and Teddy. So forty-seven people in all. Yeah, it was packed in there.

After my parents met almost everyone I slipped away with my brothers. I found Dom, Ally, James, Freddie, Louis, Roxy, Teddy, Victorie, Molly, Lily, Albus, Scorpius, Hugo and Rose in one of the back rooms.

“Hey guys, these are my brothers. Kyle, Brandon, Adam, Jason, Matt, Cole and Dylan. They’re all muggles.” I introduced them. Most of my friends just stared at my friends, confused. That could be because Kyle and Brandon were identical and Adam, Jason and Matt were identical.

“Hi, I’m Teddy.” Teddy said, shaking their hands. I never understood why people shook hands. Many Hufflepuffs do it. Freaking creepy Hufflepuffs. Yeah, that’s right, I’m talking to you Teddy!

After a while Nana Molly came and gathered us for dinner. It was being held outside in a forcefield dome. There was a huge table with heat charms all around it. My family looked insanly excited. Many muggleborns can be embarrassed about how muggle like there family acts.

I like it when my family acts like that though. It reminds me how amazing and beautiful my world is. Enchanting, that’s the word mum always used when talking about the wizarding world. I love that word. It fits the wizarding world perfectly.

All the adults sat at one end the kids at the other. I was in between Adam and Victorie. The Weasleys loved my family, I had known that since they had met Dom’s family back when we were in second year and they dropped me off for Christmas vacation and talked with my parents for three hours.

We had a huge feast of turkey, potatoes, pasta and salad. After dinner Nana Molly came out with a large cake that we all dug into quickly. Slowly, the adults left for some wine in the house. The younger kids went up to the bedrooms to play games, leaving my friends and I outside with a few of my brothers.

“Hey, Aspen, do you want to go for a walk?” James asked me.

“Sure.” I nodded and put on my coat. “Bye guys.” I said to everyone before leaving the heating charms with James. He took my hand and shot me a soft smile. It was the most comforting thing in the world.

“Why did you want to talk to me?” I heard the snow crunch underneath my dark gray boots.

“Who said I wanted to talk? I asked you to go for a walk.” He pointed out. I laughed and looked at him.

“James, I can tell when you want to talk about something. Your hand is a little sweaty and your biting your lower lip and you’re walking faster than you usually do. What’s up?”

We reached a large lone weeping willow by the pond out back, far away from everyone else. “Do you want to climb the tree?” He asked me, staring up into the top branches.

“Excuse me?” What the hell was he talking about?

“Remember how we always tried to climb this tree? You were always too small though. Even with my help, you couldn’t get up that far. Little Aspen. So, what I’m asking, is do you want to try to climb the tree again?”

I shook my head, “You are absolutely bonkers James, but sure! I’ll climb the tree.” I gripped the nearest branch and hauled myself up. After a few more levels of branches, I stopped and sat on top of one. “Ha! I climbed the tree all on my own!” With that, I stuck my tongue out and James laughed.

“Aspen, I do need to talk to you about something though.” His face became serious, which scared me. James was so rarely serious. Although, he was Sirius. Haha, get it? Okay, okay, that was a bad joke but you don’t need to throw tomatoes at me!

“What is it James?” I questioned, staring at him, he was only about two feet below me.

“You love me right?” I nodded. “Well, I love you too Aspen, I love you so much. You’re the single most amazing person on the planet, and when I’m with you I feel like I could do anything. You inspire me every day to be a better person. You’re carefree and fun and so full of life, even after everything you’ve been through. Aspen, I would do anything for you. I want to always be here to protect you.

“I know that we haven’t been dating for long, and we are really young, but we have known each other for twelve years. We know every single piece of each other. I know that your scared of people leaving you, and you don’t like heights and you will push over first years to get the last piece of toast.

“Though, the most important thing I know about you is that you love me, and that you’ll never stop. Because what we have, it’s the kind of everlasting love. We are never going to be the kind of couple that looks back at their yearbook and laughs that they used to date the other person.

“Aspen, I will do anything you want and need. I am going to protect you from every kind of bad thing out there in the world. I will lay down my life for you. I will beat up anyone who says a single bad thing about you.

“Now, I asked your dad and brothers, and they said that they are okay with it if you want it. Finally, I have one question to ask you. The question you’ve always wondered when you will here it. Aspen September Isabella Anneliese Madeline Powells, will you marry me?” My heart was beating a million times per second. I didn’t even realize what was going on.

James just proposed to me. I was only eighteen for Merlin’s sake! I couldn’t marry him. I just couldn’t. Yet, I wanted too. He was everything to me. Execpet, word vomit happened, and I blurted out, “Are you mad?”

What did he do? HE LAUGHED AT ME! “No, but I am mad for you. I know that it’s scary Aspen, but I really want to do this, with you.” James reached up and took my hands in his. “Trust me.”

I didn’t say anything, I just stared at him in disbelief. I was torn between my heart and my brain. My heart told me to say yes. Because I loved him more than life itself and he
felt the same way.

On the other hand, my brain was telling me to say no. To just say no. Because teen marriages are likely to end in divorces, according to experts. I just didn’t know which one to listen too.

Should I play the safe side? On the other hand, should I take a crazy and insane risk? I could tell James was waiting for my answer. I knew that I had to give him his answer now. Because if I told him I needed to wait a few days, he would be scared. That was the last thing I ever wanted to happen.

I took a deep breath, “Yes.” I whispered. “Yes, I’ll marry you James Potter.” My face was nearly splitting in half because my smile was so big. He gave a small laugh, as if he couldn’t believe it, and wrapped me in a large hug. Helping me down to the ground in the meantime.

“Were going to get married!” He cried and kissed me.

“I’m going to be Mrs. Aspen September Isabella Anneliese Madeline Potter!” I grinned as he spun me around.

“Here, let me put the ring on you.” James went down on one knee again and I held out my left hand. He opened a small blue box, and I found myself looking at the most gorgeous ring ever.

It was an emerald, surrounded by diamonds, I gasped when I saw it. “James, it’s too much.”

“No.” He said firmly, “It’s the only one in the world that could ever be slightly worthy of you and your beauty.” I smiled at him, that’s when I realized that I was crying. Don’t worry, it was the happy kind of crying. The kind you see when people get married in movies.

Slowly, he slid it onto my ring finger. “It was the ring my grandfather-James-gave it too my grandmother-Lily-because of her emerald colored eyes. Once I decided I was going to propose to you, I knew I was going to use this ring. Because of your eyes. Just like my grandfather.” He gazed into my eyes. I never payed much attention to my eyes. James said they were the first thing he noticed about me. That’s how he knew to trust me.

It doesn’t make sense to me. How eyes can make you trust someone, someone you don’t know at all. Even if it is a really romantic and cute to say. Though if James says it, I guess I believe it.

“It’s beautiful James. Thank you so much.” I wrapped my arms around his neck and hugged him.

“Not as beautiful as you.” He whispered. I’m seriously the luckiest person on earth. I felt blissful. Suck on that creepy fangirls! He’s mine, officially. So back the fuck off.

“So is that why you wouldn’t tell me why you needed to talk to my dad and brothers alone?” James nodded. “That means a lot to me, that you asked them. Plus I’m sure it means a lot to them.”

“Well, I’m glad. I know how important your family is too you Aspen. Now, speaking of family, when should we tell everyone our news?”

I thought for a few moments, “Now. Everyone we could possibly want to tell is here!” It was true, it was the perfect time to tell everyone.

So we headed back to the house, the teenagers had already gone inside since it was getting pretty dark and cold, even with the heat charms. James had an arm around my waist and when we stepped through the door began to try and get everyone’s attention.

“Hey! Everyone! Can I get your attention everyone?” James yelled. No one looked to us. “Excuse me, everyone!” Nothing.

“LISTEN UP!” I cried, causing everyone to turn towards me. Well hi guys.

“Aspen and I have an announcement to make!” He took a deep breath and said, “I proposed to Aspen.”

“And I said yes!” I raised my left hand and everyone’s jaws dropped.
