LILY’S POV

“Are you sure you have to go?” I asked, pouting only slightly.

“Sorry, love. I told my mum I’d go visit her this month.” He replied, gently caressing my cheek.

“But, but, you’ll miss school. I don’t want to have spend what time we have together tutoring you.”

Remus looked down and smirked at me. “Do you really think we’d actually study?”

I grinned sheepishly. “Probably not.” I admitted.

“That’s what I thought.”

Remus was rubbing slow circles on the back of my hand as he walked me back to the common room and I was in a miserable state of mind because I wouldn’t see him for a week.

“Are you sure you have to go for a whole week?” I whispered.

“I’ll try and be back as soon as I can.” He promised.

“Okay. I s’pose that’s all I can really ask for.”

We had stopped at the common room now and I was staring up at him. He moved my hair out of my face and traced patterns lightly on my neck and collarbone, making me shiver.

“I love it when you do that.” He whispered, slowly moving his face towards mine.

I closed my eyes waiting for him to kiss me, but he just brushed his lips against mine and quietly laughed.

“Remus!” I whined, opening my eyes.

He stood there smiling down at me. “See you next week.” He winked as he sauntered off towards grand hall.

“Tease!” I yelled and caught him grinning.

JAMES’ POV

“Tease!” Someone yelled outside of the portrait hole.

I laughed. It sounded like a girl. Blimey, roles were really reversed these days.

Just then, Lily walked in and I smirked. “Trouble in paradise?” I asked.

“You don’t know the half of it.” She said, sitting down beside me.

I guess this was acceptable behaviour seeing as we’re friends now.

“Something wrong?” I asked.

“My boyfriend’s leaving for a week!” She whined.

“Blimey, Lily. Don’t be so pathetic. He is coming back, you know.”

She turned and glared at me. “He didn’t even kiss me goodbye properly!” She huffed.

“What? What do you mean?” I asked, confused.

“He just brushed his lips against mine. What the hell is that?”

I laughed at her confusion. She really had no idea what he was trying to do.

“What’s so funny?” She asked, clearly annoyed.

“He wants you to have this built up sexual tension between you two by the time he gets back.” I laughed again as her face turned red.

“Don’t be a git!” She said hitting me.

“I can’t believe you didn’t think of that! Isn’t it painfully obvious?” I asked, still laughing.

“James, c’mon.” she pleaded. “Let’s just drop this.”

“Alright,” I agreed. “For now.”

I looked over at her and she truly was embarrassed. Like I wasn’t going to hang this over her head forever.

“You’re a prat.” She said after a few seconds.

“And you’re so unbelievably innocent. It’s adorable.”

“Whatever, James.”

She rested her head against the back of the couch, her eyes closed. She seemed perfectly relaxed, not to mention beautiful. She loved me. It was obvious. No one could be this comfortable around someone they didn’t love, could they?

“Lily?”

“Mmm.” She answered.

“We’re friends now, right?” I asked apprehensively.

“ ‘Course, why else would I be talking to your big-headed self?” She asked, a smile playing on her lips.

“Ouch.”

She opened her eyes and turned her head towards me. “Is there a reason why you want to know?”

“Well, friends can tell each other everything and, as a friend, I think you should know that you love me.” I said, a sly grin forming on my face.

“I thought we weren’t going to do this anymore? It was part of our deal, wasn’t it?” She reminded me.

“Oh, I’m not flirting with you or pouring my feelings out to you, but you seemed to want to the other night.”

“What d’you mean?” Confusion was all over her face.

“Well, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you said you loved me while you were sleeping in my dorm.”

“I did not!” She huffed. “Why would I say something so ludicrous?”

“Loving me is not ludicrous! Just admit that you do and we can get on with our lives.” I grinned. “Everybody loves me, so adding one more person to the list really isn’t a big deal.”

“Don’t you dare wink at me, Potter!”

I watched as she got up and stormed out of the common room. Looks like I had pushed a button on Miss. Lily Evans. I guess my hunch wasn’t too far off.

LILY’S POV

“Unbelievable!” I said, storming into my room.

Alice looked up at me and I forgot her and I had gotten into a fight that was still unresolved.

She stared over at me and smiled. “What’d he do this time?” She asked.

“He said I said I love him, which I don’t!”

I’m glad she was talking to me again. I really couldn’t handle Potter and all of his drama alone.

“When did you say you loved him?” she asked, thoroughly confused.

“Apparently when I was sleeping. He’s such a git!”

“Listen, Lily, I’m really s-“ Alice began.

“Don’t worry about it, Alice. I understand completely.” With that, she grinned at me and I grinned back. “So, how are things with Frank now?”

“Unbelievable.” She admitted. “He surprised me last night and took me out to the most romantic place I have ever been and I am only mildly embarrassed to say that we snogged for a good fifteen minutes.”

I laughed. “Why is that embarrassing at all?”

“Well, that’s not embarrassing, but getting caught by Sirius Black is.”

“Oh, Merlin. What did he do?” I asked, not really wanting to hear the answer.

“He said, ‘Ow, ow. You got a good one there, Frank. Seems like she would do anything to please you.’ Then we both got really red and he walked me to the stairs leading to our dorm.”

“He’s such a bloody prick.” I agreed.

“Anyways, even with that happening, it was a bloody fantastic date.” Alice said as she fell back onto her pillows.

“Good. I’m happy for you.” I smiled over at her and closed my eyes, hoping this week would go by quickly.

This week had, fortunately, gone by quickly. This was in no way thanks to James. Yes, he had laid off of the whole me saying I love him things, but he was still as clingy as ever.

“James, please.” I begged. “Let me finish this homework so I can be free this weekend.”

“You just want to spend time with Moony when he gets back.” He countered.

“So what? He is my boyfriend.” I counter.

“Are you that sexually frustrated?” He asked, smirking.

I turned crimson. “Bugger off.” I said, glaring at him.

“Oh, did I hit a soft spot, Evans? Let me remind you that he’ll have to catch up on homework and loads of other things.”

“Obviously, Potter. I’m not completely daft, I do understand what missing a week of school means.”

He stood up, ready to walk away, then paused. “We have patrols in an hour. I’ll meet you outside of the common room.”

I nodded stiffly and he walked away. “Bloody prick.” I mumbled.

“Oh, love, you know I hate it when we fight.” I heard Sirius say behind me.

“Why can’t you people leave me alone?” I asked, sighing.

“There are too many of us. One of us will always be around you throughout your whole life. It’s just how nature works.”

“You’re an idiot.”

“No, I’m Sirius.” He countered, his eyebrows raised in amusement.

“Well, Sirius, if you don’t leave me alone I will never finish this-“

I stopped short as I saw Remus walk through the portrait hole, smiling. My heart pounded and my eyes greedily took him in. He looked exactly the same as before, except his hair was a little shaggy and, let’s face it, I honestly don’t mind that.

“Finish what?” Sirius asked with an amused expression.

I quickly pushed him out of the way and ran over to Remus.

His arms were already outstretched, all I had to do was run into them, which I did of course. He bent his head down, kissing the top of mine, making me melt into him.

“I missed you.” He whispered into my ear.

I quickly went up on my tiptoes and kissed him. I traced his lower lip with my tongue slowly, and then repeated the same motion on his upper lip. He sighed and my tongue entered his mouth without any hesitation, just tracing and memorizing everything I had missed the entire week. Slowly, his hands went to the back of my head, pushing slightly to deepen the kiss, and I obliged.

I broke off the kiss when someone whistled. “You have no idea how much I missed you.” I whispered back.

“I think I have a bit of an idea.”

I blushed as I looked around. Everyone was staring at me, but I guess that was a given. I really had changed. The old Lily would have never done this in a room full of people, but this Lily didn’t care. This lily just wanted her boyfriend to be as close as humanly possible right now.

Without thinking, I dragged Remus by the hand and went out of the portrait hole. This time I checked to make sure that there weren’t any people close by before kissing him.

This time, he met me half way and kissed me slowly, tenderly, lovingly. It was so sweet that I never wanted to let him go. I smiled against his lips and my hands trailed their way up to his hair, playing with it, and I was quite content. Without warning, he deepened the kiss by lifting me off of the ground, allowing us to be at eye level with each other so he didn’t have to bend. My reaction, I must admit, was a little on the eager side. I wrapped my legs around his hips and my tongue lightly swept his mouth. He moaned and pushed me against the wall, holding my hips in place wit his hands. His mouth moved to my jaw and my hand moved to his stomach, under his shirt. I lightly trailed up to his chest and then back down to the waistband on his jeans, ever so slightly sliding my fingers down. He shivered and his mouth met mine passionately. His hands began to slide up my shirt and I didn’t mind at all. I moaned against his lips and he found my bra. He smiled at my reaction and I just kept kissing him, our hands roaming everywhere.

“Ahem.”

Instantly, we broke apart, my face turning red. I looked over to see who it was.

“James.” I said, nodding slightly.

“Hey there, mate.” Remus said, pulling James into a hug, smiling.

“Hey, Moony. Have a good time?”

“As good as it could possibly be. That woman drives me bonkers sometimes.” He laughed and continued smiling.

“ ‘Right, well sorry, man, but I need to steal your girlfriend from you. We need to do patrols.”

“Fine with me.” He grinned, but bent down so his lips were at my ear. “See you later, love.”

I watched as he climbed through the portrait hole, then turned to James who was, surprisingly enough, grinning.

“What?” I snapped.

“So, was I right or was I wrong about him wanting to build up some sexual tension between you two?” He winked and I punched him on the arm.

What an ass.
