Eleven years after I walked away from Draco, I was still in love with him. You couldn't tell by looking at me, but I was. At first I was wreck. I didn't think I would ever find someone who could make me happy again. Eventually I did, but it took a while.

I didn't start dating again until Scarlett was about four and I was about twenty one. The first few years didn't go too well to be honest. I always found a reason for why it wouldn't work out. But when I was twenty five, things turned around.

There was this formal ball being held. I wasn't going to go, because I had no good reason to go, but Mum convinced me. And then I heard the Malfoys would be attending, and I really wanted to go then. I thought maybe I'd run into Draco and somehow we could get things back to the way they were and get back together and I could see my son.

It didn't work out that way. Draco didn't show up, turns out he was sick that night. But I did run into his parents and for five awkard minutes we talked. They told me Draco and Scorpius were doing just fine. That made me sad. They were doing fine without me.

I told them Scarlett and I were doing just fine too, and they said they couldn't wait to see her all grown up. Finally the conversation was over. To this day, I still don't know why I stuck around at the ball. There was nothing much to do.

I was asked to dance by an awkward man, who seemed really sweet, so I said yes. But he was a horrible dancer. He constantly stepped on my feet, his hands were sweaty, and nearly dropped me at one point when he dipped me.

And then out of nowhere, someone came to my rescue. A handsome man by the name of Hugh Bennett. He asked if he could cut in. He on the other hand was a great dancer. We got into conversation, and well, I kinda liked him. He was nice, funny, charming, and incredibly sweet. I had no idea why he was interested in me.

One dance turned into five and then we were out on the balcony. We talked about our lives. I was doing more of the talking in that department. He kept asking me questions about my career. I owned five wizard clothing stores that were rather successful and at that time I was getting to open a sixth one.

Hugh didn't tell me much about his career at first, just that he made a lot of money. At first I thought he was caught up in some shady business or something. I was always so quick to think the worst when it came to men.

But finally he spilled what he did. He was a prince. The Australian prince to be exact. I was in shock. I had danced and flirted with a prince! And what's more, this prince liked me.

Against my better judgement I told him about Scarlett. He didn't cringe like the other men usually did upon hearing I had a kid. Hugh smiled and asked me to tell him more about her. That was earliest sign that he was not like the other men.

By the end of the ball, we had danced a few more times, Hugh had kissed me and asked me on a date, to which I agreed to.

I easily found myself falling for Hugh. He was a great man who treated me well, respected me and when they finally met after five months of us dating, Scarlett adored him. I think it had something to do with his royal standing, personally.

Things went surprisingly well when I met the King and Queen. Hugh told me they loved me. After a year of dating, Hugh told me he loved me for the first time, and I said it back immediately. For our two year anniversary, he bought me a house. It was big and beautiful. I tried to turn it down, but he wouldn't have it.

So Scarlett and I moved in. Hugh practically lived there too. He occasionally went away on business in Australia, but other than that, things were great. Now we've been together for three years and I know he's dying to ask me to marry him. He's not sure what I'll say though.

Of course I'll say yes. I won't mean it with my whole heart, because of my love for Draco, but I'll mean it with most of my heart.

Draco on the other hand was already engaged and due to be married any day now to Astoria Greengrass. I cried all night when I found out about his engagement. I just couldn't believe he asked someone else to marry him. I guess I couldn't expect him to be alone forever if I wasn't going to be. What's worse is that I received and invitation, as did Hugh.

He had already RSVPd us, so I have no choice but to go. Hugh was aware of the odd situation Draco and I were in. He thought Draco was foolish for giving up, but that he was glad because now he had me. That always made me smile.

I watched closely as Scarlett slid down the slide and then smoothed out her dress. She was so much like me, it was crazy. She got my hair color, my mannerisms, my brains. But she had Draco's grey eyes, quick tongue, and pale skin. I watched a blonde boy about her age come up to her, they talked for a moment. Then they started running around chasing eachother.

Something about this boy was kind of familiar, but I couldn't put my finger on it. I continued watching closely. They went to the grass and I saw Scarlett making flowers grow. I had told her so many times not to use her magic in public.

"Scarlett!" I called. "Scarlett, honey, come here!"

She immediately runs over, her little blonde friend following behind. I bent down and whispered. "I thought I said no magic in public."

"It's quite all right, ma'am." The boy said. "I'm a wizard, not a muggle." A slight sneer came to his face.

I know that sneer, but why can't I remember where I know it from?

"Oh, that's lovely." I said with a hint of sarcasm. I turned back to Scarlett. "I still don't want you doing magic."

"But he did magic." Scarlett said.

"Well, his Mum obviously has different rules." I said.

"I don't have a Mother, just a Father. Don't you know who I am?" He asked.

I gave him a look of disbelief. "No."

"Well you must know my Father then." He said.

"I don't think so." I said.

"Well here he comes right now, once you seem him, I'm sure you'll know."

"Who is he devil?" I muttered.

I turned around to see who he was pointing to. Draco Malfoy was walking towards us. Well, I was close with my guess. I suddenly realized something.

If this boy's Father is Draco, that means...

"I'm sorry if my son is bothering you, Miss he's-Viv?!" Draco's expression showed surprise.

"Hey, Draco." I shyly.

"Merlin, Viv, it is you!" He gave me a quick kiss that made my knees weak. "You look amazing!"

"So do you." I said smiling.

"So you do know my Father." Scorpius my son said.

"Yes, I do. We go way back." I said. I held out my hand. "I'm Vivienne."

"Scorpius Malfoy. Pleasure to meet you." He said shaking my hand. I wanted to hug him. To hold him tight and tell him that I loved him.

Scarlett held out her hand to Draco. "I'm Scarlett Setori. Wonderful to meet one of my Mum's old friends."

Draco shook her hand, looking as though he wanted to hug her too.

"Why don't you two go play while we catch up." I said. They ran off.

"Well, this is unexpected." Draco said.

"Yeah." I agreed. "Weren't supposed to be seeing eachother for a few more months."

"Yeah, I was going to talk to you about that at my wedding." He said.

"Right, your wedding. Five days away huh?" I said trying to sound casual.

"Yeah, I'm kinda nervous." He admitted. I didn't say anything, I just nodded. "How have you been Viv?" He asked.

I smiled. "I've been good. Everything is going really great right now. I'm happy."

Draco gave me somewhat of a sad smile. "I'm glad you're happy. You deserve it."

We were silent for a few moments. We watched our children play with eachother. "So, that's my little girl, huh?" He asked. "She looks just like you, beautiful."

"Yeah, she is beautiful, and smart. She has your eyes." I responded.

"Scorpius has yours." He said quietly.

Again we stared at our children. "I can't believe how long it's been. It's like time went fast and slow at the same time."

"Yeah. One minute Scorpius was a baby, the next he was five years old asking about his Mother." Draco said.

I smiled. "Scarlett was five when she started asking about you too."

"What did you tell her?" He asked.

"That soon enough she would meet you."

"I told him the same thing about you."

Just then Scarlett and Scorpius ran over to us. "Mum, I'm starving! Can Mr. Malfoy and Scorpius have lunch with us at home?"

"Yes, Father can we please go?" Scorpius asked. Seeing them stand next to eachother like that was just wonderful.

"Of course." Draco and I answered at the same time.

"Wow, Father, this is even bigger than our house!" Scorpius exclaimed when we got there.

Draco merely chuckled.

"Scarlett, honey, go get the sandwiches out of the kitchen and you and Scorpius can eat them in your garden. We'll be in here if you need us." I said.

"Okay. Come on, Scorpius. Just wait until you see my garden..." Her voice trailed off as they disappeared.

"She has her own garden?" Draco asked as he sat down.

"Yeah, she loves flowers." I replied, also taking a seat.

"Your stores must be doing fantastically." He said, smiling. "This house is magnificent."

I grinned. "Yeah, the stores are doing fantastically. But, um actually, Hugh bought this house for me."

Draco's smile seemed to fade. "Right." He said. "I almost forgot you were dating that Australian prince. How are things with him?"

"They're great. We've been together three years. I think he'll be asking me to marry him pretty soon." I answered.

"That's good." He said quietly.

"I'd ask about things with Astoria, but obviously you guys are wonderful since you're getting married." I said.

"Yeah, they are wonderful. Right now Astoria is stressing about the wedding, but I'm sure things will be fine after the wedding. Or I hope so..."

I laughed. "It's a big day. I'd be freaking out too."

"I always thought I'd be around to deal with that." He said.

"You got lucky." I joked.

"Well, that all depends on your meaning of lucky."

I just looked at him, afraid to ask what he meant. Afraid to hear him say he no longer loved me.

"What are we gonna do about the kids, Viv?" He asked.

I sighed. "I don't know. Maybe we should try to keep them away from eachother until it's time."

"Or maybe we should let them spend time together and let them get used to eachother and then tell them when it's time." He suggested.

"Well, we need to figure out what we're going to do." I said.

"Mum, Mum!" Scarlett said. "Can Scorpius come over tomorrow for a play date?!"

"Looks like we've figured it out. They want to be around eachother." Draco said.

"Well, then that's what we'll do then." I said quietly.

I realized the more time Scarlett and Scorpius wanted to spend with eachother, the more time I'd have to spend with Draco. What if I couldn't control my feelings for him? Did that even make a difference. He probably doesn't even love me anymore.

"So, I gues we'll be spending some time together then." Draco said.

"Yeah, I guess we will be."
