Silence hung in the air within a second of my outburst. I stepped down off the table slowly and left the room. I leaned against the wall, my hands shaking. What have I done?
I heard the door open and close and my dad stormed past me, not even looking in my direction. He was headed towards the door.
"Dad... wait..." I begged as he began to open the door. "...Please."
He stopped for a moment, as though to consider his options, before opening the door and walking outside.
I fell to the ground, my whole body shaking. The frosty facial expression he wore when he'd walked out made me know that I'd lost him. I sat there, silently. There was no way I was going back into the front room. I could hear mum arguing with James and Al about me. The door opened and closed again, and this time it was Victoire who'd left the room.
"You see what you 'ave done?" she told me, tears staining her face, her french accent getting thicker as she got more upset. "You are a selfeesh little girl! You 'ave ruined the evening because you are so stupide!"
I opened my mouth to speak, but she stormed off before what I wanted to say had been said. A few moments later Teddy left the room, glancing at me as though he wanted to say something, before following Victoire.
I heard Al shouting as the door opened again. "No! I will not stay in here! I need to talk to her, mum!" before leaving the room. He began to walk up the corridor, so I coughed slightly to get his attention.
"Oh, it's you," he muttered, walking back over to me.
"Yeah," I sighed. "It's me."
"It's true then? You really are pregnant?"
"No, I made it up to get attention," I replied sarcastically, before sighing. "Yes, I'm pregnant."
"Are you sure?" he asked, a sign of desperation in his voice. "I mean... you could..."
"Yes, I'm sure, Al."
"How? When? Where? Why was I not there?"
"In all fairness, brother, I don't think either of us would have been comfortable with you being present while I had sex with someone."
He grinned slightly. "Well answer the rest of the questions then."
"At James' graduation party last month. I got drunk and no one was around," I shrugged.
"But..."
"I need some air," I lied, standing up and walking out into the back garden. I couldn't stand anymore questions, even though I knew more were to come. I stood there silently, not moving, as I stared at the sky, wishing everything would go away.
The silence didn't last very long.
The back door slammed and someone stormed over to where I was stood.
"Am I the father?" the someone asked.
Scorpius. Oh shit.
I looked at the ground, pretending to have misheard.
"Am I the father?" he repeated, raising his voice.
I looked up at him for a second, and nodded slowly.
"Are you sure?"
I nodded again. "I'm fifteen, Malfoy."
"And?"
I slapped him in the face. "You were my first, Malfoy. There's no way it's not yours, so stop being an insensitive prick."
He slammed his fist into the wall. "Why do you have to be so stupid?" he asked.
"I'm sorry, Malfoy, but me? You were the one that got me drunk in the first place. You were the one that was supposed to do the contraception charm. You were the one that was stupid enough to kiss me in the first place!"
"I suppose," he shrugged, before gasping. "Shit! What about Rose?"
"What about her?"
"You're pregnant, she's my girlfriend. She doesn't know!"
"Well you'd better tell her."
"I can't."
"Scorpius Malfoy, if you don't tell her then..."
"Then what? You'll tell her?"
"No. It's not fair on her if you don't talk to her," I told him.
"Do you want to keep it?"
"I... I don't... I don't know," I sighed.
"You need to make a decision, Potter."
"Well, Malfoy, give me time to make them," I snapped. "I need to think about it."
"Time isn't on your side at the moment, you know."
"I know," I moaned. "Go and talk to Rose. I'll talk to you about it after you've spoken to her."
"Fine. But who says I want to talk to you?"
"You will talk to me, Malfoy, because I am pregnant with your child. We're in this together."
"Whatever, just send me a time and a place," he shrugged walking into the house.
