††I left early morning to get to platform 9 3/4 so I could slip into the Heads' cabin before anymore confrontations happened.
††Many families were now entering, saying goodbye, or mingling with their friends.
††I just sighed and put down the shade. I had planned on telling my friends that I received Head Girl at dinner. That plan fell apart when I got my heart broken by Ron.
††I decided to relax like I would normally do at home, music and books.†
††I found a way to make my IPod run off at magic instead of magic so I could bring it with me. I put the small metallic blue ear bud in and scrolled down my list of music until I came to Lincoln Park. I blasted the music in my ears and started to read Hogwarts a History for the hundredth time.†
††It was only forget five minutes until the compartment door opened up. Looking up from my book I noticed stormy grey eyes looking at me strangely.
††His mouth started to move but I was unable to hear him over my music. Taking the earbuds out I looked at him, "I'm sorry, what did you say? I couldn't hear you."
†† "I was asking you what that bloody contraption was in your ears," Malfoy repeated pointing towards my IPod. "Some muggle filth I presume."
††"It's an IPod. You listen to music on it and yes, it is a muggle product," I replied. "And what are you doing in the Head's compartment?"
†† "And they call you the brightest witch of our age," he smirked. "Guess."
††"No," I say my eyes widening. "No no no no! You're kidding me right? You can't be head boy."
††"And why is that Granger?"
†† "Because you are an arrogant prick," I replied evenly.
††"And you are a mudblood," he countered.
†† "Is that the only insult you can throw my way?" I questioned.
††"You haven't done anything to deserve more...yet," he smirked sitting across from me. "Just stay out of my way and I'll stay out of yours. We have an agreement?"
††"We do. Let me know when the prefect arrive please," I say putting my earbuds in again and I resumed to read my book.
It was another fifteen minutes before Draco decided to alert me of the prefects. I already new that they were here because I could feel Draco staring at me the whole time.
"Thank you Malfoy," I reply placing my book and IPod back in my bag before looking at the prefects. "Congratulations all of you for receiving the chance to be a prefect. What you do this year will affect your chances of being a head for next year."
†"To become a Head," Draco continued. "You must maintain good grades, be a good influence on other students ," I bit back a laugh after he said that earning me a glare from him, "and be fair in giving and taking points from a house and show no favoritism to friends and others in your house."
"Draco and I will create a schedule for corridor patrolling each month. We will let you know by Friday," I finish and then they all left the carriage.
I went to retrieve my book and iPod when I noticed Draco glaring at me.†
"What?!" I snapped.
"What was with that laugh Granger?" he asked referring to when I laughed during his portion of the talk.
"Last time I checked, you weren't a good influence on other students between hexing, name calling, and trying to kill Dumbledore," I replied.
Draco's face paled at the last part, "I didn't want to kill him. Voldemort would have killed me and my family if I didn't. Do not talk about things you don't understand."
I looked at him in shock. I knew he didn't want to kill Dumbledore but I never expected him to show fear in front of me. "I-I'm sorry. †I didn't know."
"Of course you didn't," he recovered himself to sneer at me. "Shouldn't you go back to scarface and your weasel of a boyfriend?"
"Harry is fine but he is probably we that stupid arse Weasly. It's your turn to be quite on things you don't understand," I seethe.
"Someone is mad. Weasel wasn't a good shag?" Draco smirked leaning back into the dark green chair.
"I wouldn't know but you could ask Lav-Lav seeing how he was cheating on me with that bitch," I smirked back.
Draco raised an eyebrow at me before assessing me. He just shakes his head, "With this attitude you could have done well in Slytherin Granger. To bad you're a muggle born."
I looked at him in shock, " You didn't say mudblood."
"I thought you aren't that bad so I promoted you."
"Thanks," I laughed. I saw him smile before his††sidekick†Blaise Zabini burst in the carriage and dragged Draco out of it.
"What do you want Zabini?" I asked annoyed. Granger was starting to appeal to me and she looked sexy when she got mad at the Weasel.
"You remembered when I told you I had a sister?" Blaise asked me.
"How can I forget since that was all you talked about this summer?" I replied.
"My parents told me before I got on the train that the glamour charm will wear off after the first years are sorted. I can't wait to meet her. Do you think she will like me? Which house do you think she is in? I hope it's not Hufflepuff-"
"Blaise!" I yell in his face while laughing.
"What?" It will be fine. Okay?" I say. "As long as it's not Pansy then we will be fine."
"I might kill her if it's Pansy," he replied with a chuckle. "See you in the great hall mate."†
"Later Blaise," I called back.
