Alice was asleep now and I had this big, goofy grin on my face. It was completely uncalled for and I felt like a fool. Remus was on my mind and the urge to get out of bed and visit him was unbelievably high on my list of priorities.
I quietly got out of bed and snuck down the stairs to the common room. It was completely empty so I took this as a sign that I was obviously supposed to be sneaking around and that I would not get caught.
I was nearly at his room when Remus ran into me.
“Umph.” I said as I was falling back towards the ground.
He quickly grabbed my arm and pulled me towards him. “I thought I heard someone.” He said, slowly moving the hair away from my face.
I smiled and blushed. “I just wanted to see you.”
“Oh, well, love. To be honest, this probably isn’t the best time to be sneaking into my dorm seeing as everyone is still awake.”
My face fell slightly. “When will everyone be asleep?” I asked.
He looked at the door, then back at me. “Probably fairly soon.”
I smiled. “Well, why don’t I go down to the common room and you can come get me when they’re all asleep?”
“Sounds like a plan.” He quickly brushed his lips against mine and squeezed my hand. “See you soon.”
I watched as he walked back to his room, then I headed down to the common room.
It had been only five minutes until I heard footsteps coming from behind me. With a huge grin spread across my face, I turned around. The down side to this? It wasn’t Remus, it was James.
“Hi, Lily.” He whispered as he sat down beside me.
“Hi.” I said awkwardly. “What are you doing down here?”
“I’m not dull. I know you were just creeping around upstairs.”
“Oh.” Was all I managed.
“Precisely. I’ve come to a certain conclusion in these past 5 minutes actually. Would you like to hear it?” He asked, a smile playing around the corners of his mouth.
“Do I really have a choice?” I asked kiddingly.
“Well, no. I just thought I should offer it to you. Y’know, to be polite.” He replied.
“Right, well. Lay it on me.”
He smiled and grabbed my hand, tracing circles on my palm. Merlin…
“ “Course. Why else would I have come down here?” He paused, taking a deep breath. “Lily, I’ve come to the conclusion that I really do love you, but I don’t like hurting you. Kissing you and pouring my soul out to you every time you’re within a thirty foot range can’t make you feel too, erm, confident about your present relationship, which I know
you have taken to, um, upper levels.”
I blushed, not wanting to look at him.
“Anyways,” he continued. “I just want you to know that I’ll stop.”
I gasped. “What?”
“I said that I’ll stop. There is, however, one condition to this.”
“I want you to be my friend. I want you to confide in me and tell me things you tell Alice. I know that if I can’t be in your life as your boyfriend, I still want to be in your life as a, erm, boy that is your friend.” He finished.
“Really? Just like that? You’re going to stop asking me out, kissing me, pouring your heart out to me, and stop trying to break Remus and I up?”
“Well,I figure that if you love something, you should set it free and if it doesn’t come back, it was never yours to begin with.”
“This is very mature of you.” I said, shaking my head. “It will take some getting used to.”
“That’s alright.” He said grinning. “We have the rest of our lives.”
I gulped. “That’s quite the commitment.”
He laughed, still tracing patterns on my hand. “Well, it’s either friends for life or a very annoying James Potter stalking you for the rest of your life.”
I looked at him and he winked. “Deal. We’ll be friends for life.”
“That’s all I’m asking.”
With that he took my hand in his and helped me up. “Now, I’m assuming you were lurking so you could see Remus, correct?” I blushed. “C’mon, Lily. We’re friends now. You can tell me anything.”
“I was going to see Remus.” I mumbled.
“Now was that so hard?”
He was leading me towards the boys’ dormitory and I stopped him. “What are you doing?” I asked.
“Taking you to Remus, of course.” He said this like it was the most natural answer he could have given me.
I stood there dumbfounded and stammered, “O-okay.”
We finally got to his room and he opened the door for me, nearly pushing me in.
Remus looked up towards the door, a book in his hand and a smile forming across his face.
“Lily.” He breathed.
I walked towards him as he opened his arms for me. I crawled into them and molded myself against his body.
“Hi.” I whispered.
I cuddled closer to him and yawned. “Want to sleep?” He asked.
“Well, why else would I be up here in the middle of the night? Don’t you dare say for a shag because all of your bloody friends are surrounding you and I’m not that kind of girl.”
I heard James laugh from his bed and I smiled into Remus’ neck.
“Of course not.” Remus replied, gently lifting the covers over me.
I took my hand and moved it over his stomach towards his chest and I felt him shiver. Merlin, it was so easy to make him do that. I swear, the slightest touch from me could turn him on.
I smiled as I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him. He was very gentle, not urgent whatsoever. His lips were so soft and his mouth felt so good against mine. I slowly traced his bottom lip with my tongue and I heard him moan slightly as I pushed it further, past his lips.
I smiled and he sighed, deepening the kiss.
He pulled back after a measly few minutes and kissed my forehead. “I thought you weren’t that kind of girl.” He whispered.
“I was only kissing you.” I replied. “It’s not my fault if you thought it was leading somewhere else.” I winked.
“Well, before I
get too carried away, we should probably just go to sleep.” He replied.
I turned so my back was against his chest and his arms tightened around me. ”G’night, Remus.”
“Night, Lily.” He responded as he kissed my neck softly.
I woke up the next morning and was so happy; everything was finally sorted out.
I turned over and looked at the clock. It was 5:30. I have to say, that was seriously the perfect time to wake up. I could go down to the common room and sneak back up to my dorm without anyone knowing I was gone.
I turned around to face Remus and kissed him lightly on the lips. Just as I was detangling myself from him and beginning to stand up, he pulled me back and kissed me so hard that I could barely move.
“Morning.” He grinned, opening his eyes. “I’ll see you at breakfast.”
Having a boyfriend was a lot more effort than I thought. Every time Remus did something like that, I could feel his soul pouring into me and I felt like I needed to do something special for him.
I woke up again at 6:30 and got dressed, and by dressed, I mean that I wore the most reveling clothes I owned.
The shirt I chose was green and was cut so low in the front that I couldn’t even wear a bra. My black skirt only reached half way down my thigh and the shoes I was wearing, let’s say they weren’t the easiest to walk in, but they sure as hell made this outfit even better.
I quickly put my robes on over top of the non-existent outfit before anyone, especially Alice, could see and walked down the stairs towards the common room.
Remus was already sprawled across the sofa, presumably waiting for me, seeing as none of his friends were around.
I walked towards him and leaned down, hugging him from behind, allowing my arms to cross over his chest.
“Hi there.” He said, a smile in his voice.
He turned around and pulled me onto his lap. I played with his light brown hair, as he looked me over, and then paused.
“Would you like to get some breakfast?” He asked.
“When have I ever missed a meal?”
“That’s what I thought.”
I got off of his lap and he stood up beside me, pulling me into a hug.
His arms slunk to my waist and I buried my face into the crook of his neck. Slowly, he brought his fingers up and down my back, then whispered, “Are you not wearing a bra?” into my ear.
I froze and smiled into his neck. He groaned and looked down at me. “Lily, why are you doing this to me?”
“I thought you deserved a reward for letting me sleep with you last night.” I winked.
“And torturing me like this for the rest of the day is your idea of a reward?”
I sighed and thought he deserved a quick glance of his actual reward. “Keep guard, okay?” I asked.
He nodded and looked at me expectantly. I quickly took off my robes and let him see me.
He gasped. “Damn it, Lily.”
He moved over to me at what seemed like an inhuman speed and started kissing my neck, sucking slightly. I laughed and said, “We really need to get to breakfast.”
He ignored me completely and his fingers lingered of the sides of my breasts as he captured my mouth with his. Thank Merlin no one was around.
“Remus.” I said around his lips. “Food.”
He sighed, but moved away from me. “It’s your fault, you know. No one should look so ravishing. Now I won’t be able to concentrate for the rest of the day and that will be on your conscious.”
“I think I’ll be able to make it up to you.” I replied sarcastically, winking at him.
I quickly put my robes back on and he took my hand, leading me towards breakfast. Mmmm.
