I do not own Harry Potter or the other fairy tales, Beauty and the beast is owned by Jeanne-Marie Le Prince De Beaumont, the author of Cinderella is Charles Perrault, The author of Snow White are Brothers Grimm and the ugly Duckling is owned by Hans Christian.

I raced up to the castle embarrassed from my mistake. I am such an idiot if Draco had not of found me I would be on my way back to London. Oh no.. What am I saying… Draco, since when to I call him Draco. Its Malfoy, Malfoy, Malfoy.

“Hermione, I have been looking for you everywhere, I didn’t see you get off the train and I freaked out. I am so glad you are okay.”

“Hi Ginny, I just needed to be by myself. I am actually lucky I fell asleep and had it not been for     Dra-Malfoy I would have been completely oblivious to the moving train as it left.”

“Hang on, Malfoy helped you out? I’m confused Ron is being an idiot, Draco is being a gentlemen, what’s next Harry will be mopping around.”

“I know” I gave her a small, sad smile.

“Hey don’t worry, Ron didn’t deserve you, your prince charming will come even in the least expected person.” She gave me a broad smile before pushing me towards the great hall for dinner.

As Professor McGonagall gave the start of year speech, I zoomed out and went to the moon. Why was Dra-Malfoy acting so weird, it was almost like he cared, there were no rude comments, no scowl on his face, he didn’t even call me mudblood.

I heard squeals of excitement erupt from around me.

“Why are all the girls squealing Gin?”

“Because Professor McGonagall just announced a ball, da” She gave me a questionable look before Professor McGonagall continued.

“The ball will be in four weeks time, with that there will be shopping to do so there will be a special Hogsmede trip in two weeks.” Everyone cheered for that. “Now it is time for me to announce the heads of houses for this year. Our head boy for the year is Draco Malfoy from Slytherin and our head girl is Hermione Granger from Gryffindor everyone cheered as we both stood up except one of course, Ronald Weasley. Though it did not stop the smile that spread across my face. I always wanted to be head girl.

“Mr. Malfoy and Ms. Granger if you could please see me after dinner in my office. You may now enjoy the feast.”

I was so excited we continued to talk for the remainder of the feast but I couldn’t help but feel a familiar pair of grey eyes watching me.

We walked side by side not speaking a word but sneaking glances until we reached Professor McGonagall office.

“Sherbet Lemon” we said in unison.

The gargoyle moved to reveal a staircase. Upon arriving at the door Malfoy knocked twice and the door flew open. We entered and took a seat in front of the desk.

“Congratulations on making Head boy and girl, Mr. Malfoy and Ms. Granger. I am very proud as I have seen you to go a long way and especially being the school’s two brightest students. Now as you know there are some jobs you must do such as patrols and allocating jobs to the prefects. Now I have a special job for you both, I want both of you to organise the ball. Come up with a plan and then just come and get me to approve” She gave us a warm smile and continued.” Now there is another matter to go on to, the head common room. As you know we revoked the privielege last year but I will be reinforcing this year, so please don’t make me regret it.” She gave us a stern look.” Since that is all here are the directions to the common room and the password. Goodnight to you both.”

“Goodnight Professor”

Once again we walked siliently to the new common room only making a sound when we spoke the password.

Upon entering the common I couldn’t help but let out a gasp it was stunning, beautiful. The room was blue and silver it had a small kitchen a fireplace, comfy chairs and a small library.

“Goodnight” Mumbled Malfoy as he walked up the stairs to the left.

“Goodnight, I guess”

I made my way up the right staircase to enter a beautiful bedroom decked out in Gryffindor colours. It was magnificent. I lay down on my new four poster bed and thought about the days recent events and what was to come.

The ball…I don’t know…Ron will probably go with Lavender, Harry with Ginny and me with who. Ginny was wrong I’m the ugly duckling I don’t have a price charming. If only someone wanted me.
