Background: Font color:
“Ever thought of maybe not being some sort of sexual delinquent towards her?” Scorpius asked as he sat with Albus in the hospital wing, Albus was waiting for his arm to be healed. He had covered himself with a blanket having been unable to change into normal clothes, so he was still in his borrowed clothes, which now had grass stains on them thanks to Mariah.
Adam, Amelia and Lucy, who had come down to watch the Slytherin practice had brought Albus up to the hospital wing, before going to find Scorpius so he could sit with him.
“She pushed me off of my broom!” Albus told him angrily, cradling his arm and trying not to pass out from the pain that he was in.
“You rubbed your arms on her... which I have no idea how you managed to do that whilst on a broom,” Scorpius stated, trying to resist the urge to poke Albus and see if he was faking it.
“I broke my arm!” Albus cried loudly, Scorpius noticed that Albus always spoke loudly when talking about Mariah as if he wanted the whole world to know about her.
“You don’t know if it’s broken,” Scorpius tutted rolling his eyes as the Healer came over to them.
It was in fact broken, in three places.
“You’re not a very supportive friend,” Albus stated as both him and Scorpius walked away from the hospital wing, his arm in a bandage and sling. The bones had been fixed, but he still had to wear the blasted sling until the bones mended fully, that would be the next morning.
“Neither are you,” Scorpius pointed out.
Albus shrugged at him, “fair enough.”
The next morning brought the loss of the blasted sling, which Albus nearly choked to death on because he ripped it off too fast and got it caught around his throat. Scorpius had to save him.
But unfortunately the new day brought Herbology first thing with Mariah, he would get her back somehow for physically damaging his right hand, and he’d never forgive her if it was permanently damaged so he couldn’t use a quill to do his homework.
Scorpius had scoffed when Albus had voiced his concerns about his arm and pointed out that Albus wouldn’t know what homework was if it hit him in the face. Albus responding by trying to hit Scorpius in the face, but Scorpius had gotten him in a headlock and Albus was quickly defeated.
He managed to get his revenge though - on Mariah not Scorpius, he was too scared to get revenge on Scorpius. He had made sure that he had moved into Mariah’s usual place at the desk, they unfortunately had to share, claiming that the teacher asked Mariah and Albus to move, Mariah stupidly believed him and took Albus’s regular place, which was situated next to a very large plant that liked to reach its viney, planty arm things towards people, ‘yes’ Albus thought, ‘that is definitely the correct term for it’, and try to grab hold of the people who were too stupid to go near it. Albus many times had been forced to fend off its advances with Albus believed were starting to turn strange.
Chuckling to himself, he knew how he could pay back Mariah for the irreversible damage to his quill holding arm. He just needed to get her unprepared. He waited until the lesson had almost ended before making his move.
“What the!” Albus cried frowning as he pointed to the other side of the classroom, “Merlin is back from the dead and dancing in his underpants?”
Mariah quickly whirled her head around, almost cricking her neck as she tried to see the make believe scene unfolding.
“Idiot!” Albus cried before rushing around the table and shoving Mariah into the plant. It instantly wrapped its vines around her, Mariah let out a loud scream as she tried to struggle against the plant which was slowly dragging her into its foliage. Albus laughed manically as he grabbed his bag and ran from the room, just as the bell rang.
Albus was given another detention by Professor Longbottom that night, after someone finally managed to get Mariah out of the plant and she told them straight away that it was Albus. It was another one he could add to the many he had from abandoning the Great Hall in the mess that he and Mariah were meant to clean up.
“I can’t believe that Albus pushed her into a plant,” Amelia said, shaking her head as she leant on the seat behind her and looked up into the sky.
Scorpius laughed, “Oh, I can,” he said. Kelly also shook her head, a small smile on her face as she kept glancing at Scorpius.
“Albus is such an idiot,” she told them.
“I can hear you, you know,” Albus said from a few seats behind them.
They were currently all sitting in the Quidditch stands watching Gryffindors practice take place. Most of the Weasley/ Potter family members still at school were sitting with them apart from James and Roxanne who were at the training, Roxanne was chaser and James was the keeper.
“Well, we weren’t being quiet,” Scorpius told him with a roll of his eyes. He turned around to face Albus who had his arms crossed in what appeared to be a huff. “Why are you sulking anyway?”
“I’m not sulking,” Albus huffed, seeming to cross his arms tighter.
“You’re looking and acting like a child,” Scorpius told him, turning back around to face the pitch. Albus pulled a face at the back of his head.
“Why is he sulking?” Amelia asked Scorpius as she watched her brother catching a fake snitch. Adam was the seeker for the Gryffindor team.
Scorpius shrugged, “Merlin knows. It’s probably nothing.” Albus scoffed from behind them.
“Her toad was in my bed again,” Albus answered for them.
“Who’s toad?” Amelia asked, turning around to face Albus, just as Kelly asked at the same time as Lucy Weasley, “What do you mean by again?”
Lucy laughed as she glanced at Kelly, who smiled tightly.
Kelly wasn’t that big a fan of Lucy, she didn’t seem to like the fact that Lucy and Amelia were becoming friends in potions. Amelia really hoped that Kelly would start to get to know Lucy, knowing that they would get along like a house on fire if Kelly really tried, but so far Lucy was doing all the work.
“Mariah’s toad Toby,” Albus cried, climbing over the seats to be closer to them, in the process of moving closer was climbing over his sister Lily and cousin Hugo, who were deep in conversation about today’s dinner, which they would all be going to after the practice. They let out a loud, “hey!” but Albus ignored them.
“He’s out to get me just like her!” he seethed angrily as he took a seat next to Scorpius and leaning forwards to look at them all, “it’s like she sends him out on purpose to torment me. Toby is my second mortal enemy.”
Kelly opened her mouth, but Scorpius shook his head at her.
“Don’t ask who the first mortal enemy is,” he whispered to her, “we all know its Mariah; we don’t need to hear his speech again.” Kelly nodded as she stared at Scorpius wide eyed; he gave her a smile before dropping his hand from her face looking away from her. Kelly brought her hand up to her face as she smiled dreamily.
Albus continued fuming as he thought about Toby.
“I don’t think people can send out Toads to do their evil bidding Al, you’re just being paranoid,” Lucy muttered laughing at her cousin and wondering just why she had a family full of people like him.
“That’s what toads want you to think!” Albus cried a crazy glint in his eyes as he looked at Lucy, who recoiled from him.
“Did you get any sleep last night?” she asked him as she took in the dark circles under his crazed eyes.
“Yeah. Course,” he stated dismissively before mumbling about toads again. Scorpius leant forward to talk to Lucy over Amelia and Kelly, Kelly swooned slightly.
“Only because he slept in my bed, because he was too scared to be in his own bed. Now I normally wouldn’t mind sharing my bed with a man, but Al tends to fidget as well as hog all of the covers and the bed. I’m surprised he didn’t push me out of it. Although it was a strange surprise to find him spooning me this morning,”
“Hey, you know you enjoyed it,” Albus told him, causing Scorpius to turn and face him again.
“Clearly,” Scorpius drawled sarcastically.
They sat in silence for a few more minutes before they looked back at the now empty pitch.
“I take it practice ended,” Kelly stated looking around at the others.
“Shall we go to dinner, then?” Lucy suggested.
They all agreed heartily before grabbing their stuff and standing up.
“Adam, can I ask a favour?” Amelia asked sweetly as she sidled up to her brother who was sitting alone at the Gryffindor table, James must have been off with his girlfriend somewhere.
Adam glanced at her out of the corner of his eye before he answered. “No you can’t have any money,”
“I’m not after that, I have enough money of my own. I was wondering if you could tutor me?”
Adam frowned before turning to face his sister, “you want me to tutor you?” he stated, “in what subject? You’ve got really good marks in all of your subjects already what do you need my help for?”
“I haven’t got that good marks,” Amelia shook her head at her brother who rose his eyebrows at her as though he didn’t believe her, “I want to get my potions mark way up and I was wondering if you could help me. We all know how great you are at potions and it would help out your favourite sister a lot,” she batted her eyelashes at him.
"You’re my only sister,” he told her rolling his eyes, “as a matter of fact you’re my only sibling.”
“So will you help me?” Amelia asked, Adam let out a sigh which Amelia took to mean him agreeing with her.
“You are the best brother ever, do you know that?” Amelia beamed at him, giving him a big hug.
“Yeah, yeah” Adam said but he had a smile on his face, “I’ll let you know when I’m free ok? We need to work around my schedule. I have N.E.W.Ts to practice for you know.”
"As if you’re going to fail them you genius you,”
“Ok, stop sucking up you’ve already got me to say yes to you,” Adam tutted, pushing her away from him, “now go back to your table and stop annoying me before I change my mind.”
Amelia gave him another quick hug before she walked back over to her table, knowing that she would buy the biggest bar of Honeydukes chocolates she could find for Adam the next time she went to Hogsmeade.
