Tyler has not adjusted well to you being gone. Sometimes he’ll refuse to eat or be fussy when it’s time to go to bed. You don’t need to worry though honey. All babies do this when they get separated from their mother for a long period of time. He’ll be fine when you come home for winter break.
With all our love,
Mum, Dad, and Tyler.
I’m such a bad mum. I should’ve waited until he was older. I could’ve taken remedial classes at a university. Tyler is too young to be left without me. I should’ve never even though about coming to Hogwarts. I should’ve put my education on hold for Tyler to grow up before finishing it.
“Nikkole, what’s wrong?” China asked as she took a seat next to me.
“It’s Tyler.” I cried, wiping my tears away. “He’s not adjusting to me being gone. Mum says he won’t eat sometimes or he’ll be extremely fussy at night. If he doesn’t eat or sleep right, he’ll get sick. My baby can’t get sick just because I’m not there.”
I was shaking with tears. China led me out of the Great Hall and into an abandon bathroom.
“It’ll be okay.” China said, rubbing my back. “Winter Break is only two weeks away. He’ll be okay.”
China didn’t feed me lies. She sat there and told me how I was a good mum and how this will benefit both Tyler and me. She sounded a lot like Candice.
Oh what does he want? I’m trying to keep my deal with Alexia. I shook my head at China, telling her to keep quiet.
“I know you guys are in there.”
“He has this map.” China whispered. “It shows every in the school and where they are.”
“This is where all the girls cry.” James said. “China, let me in.”
China sighed before she stood up and let James into the girl’s bathroom. I pulled my knees up closer to my chest.
“Nikkole, what’s wrong?”
I looked down at my knees, avoiding eye contact with James,
“She won’t talk to you.” China said, taking her spot on the floor.
“Why not?” James asked.
“Alexia black mailed her.” China whispered, looking at me. “Nikkole has a lot to lose and she doesn’t want Alexia blabbing it around.”
“Oh, how bad can it be?” James asked. “It’s not like she has a kid or anything.”
My head jerked up and China’s eyes wert a little wide. Not good, not good, not good at all.
“You have a kid?” James whispered.
Is this a good moment to at in the ‘by the way, you’re the dad. Congrats!’ Nah, probably not.
“Merlin’s pants. Nikkole, why didn’t you just tell us?”
“I didn’t want you guys to find out.” I whispered. “But then Roxie did then Alexia, and China. Then Alexia black mailed me and I agreed because I couldn’t have her tell the whole school and ruin your life.”
“Ruin my life?” James asked, confused. “How would it affect me?”
“Because you’re the dad.” I murmured.
My voice was hardly audible. I was so fucking scared to tell James.
“I’m the what?” James asked in shock.
Fuck!” James yelled, punching a stall door.
Well, he’s taking this pretty badly.
Are you sure?” He interrupted.
“Sure of what?”
“Is it mine?” James questioned.
Seriously? Who does he think I am? I’m not Alexia.
“Yes, Tyler is yours! I’m not some little skank who sleeps with everyone.” I yelled, appalled. “You may not have been my first but you were my last James Potter. I don’t know any other way to explain this but there’s a mini you running around.”
That’s what happened when you indirectly call me a slut. China stood off to the side, watching the whole thing.
“Fuck.” He said. “Fuck. Why didn’t you tell me Nikkole? Why did you wait two whole fucking years?”
“I didn’t want to ruin your life. We were fifteen James. You weren’t ready to have a baby. You weren’t ready to have a son.”
“I would’ve supported you Nikkole! I would’ve been there for you and our son.” James said.
“Would you have?” I asked. “You don’t know how hard it was. I got expelled for being pregnant! I was home schooled for a year to raise Tyler. My heart was shattered into a million pieces when I had to say good bye to my wonderful boy to get on the train. It’s hard to be a parent James.”
With that I began to sob. James pulled me into a hug and I let myself sink into his chest.
“Nikkole, you should never have to do that yourself. Let me be there for you and Tyler.” James whispered into my hair. “I promise not to leave, no matter how hard it is.”
I heard the door shut and noticed that China had left. I felt James breathing onto my neck, his warm breath making me nervous.
“You promise not to leave?” I asked.
I held my breath, holding in my excitement. Tyler was finally going to have his daddy around.
Tyler, Mummy is so glad she told the truth.
