Blame it on the Pregnancy Hormones by limwen

“No.” I stated as simply as I could, because I really don’t think Albus understands the meaning of the word.

“I think it’s a brilliant idea! Get it all over with at one dinner, it’s the best idea we’ve had yet.” Was his well thought out response.

We have spent the past hour in my flat trying to come up with a way of telling our parents I’m pregnant, right now the idea in question is just invite everyone to the Burrow (including my parents) and just tell them there. I personally hate the idea, because that would mean I would have to deal with about a bazillion other peoples opinion on my pregnancy, and I just don’t want to deal with my parents.

And do you know how hard it is to keep these hormones in check?

But then again the only other idea we have come up with would be to send them an owl, and since I don’t feel like dying anytime soon I think we might have to go with Al’s plan. . .

“When would this gathering take place?”

“I think this Saturday would be good, we can’t wait too long, pretty soon you’re going to start showing,” Oh God, I’m going to be fat! I’m not the kind of person to be worried about their figure or anything, but I’m going to be as big as a whale!

“I’m going to be fat!” I cried out, ever dramatic! Al just smiled down at me and wrapped his arms around me.

“I think you will be a beautiful fat person,” he whispered in my ear. I think he thought that would be the right thing to say, it wasn’t.

Stupid Albus.

“That’s not something you should EVER say to the women who is carrying you’re child! Now go, and bring me tea!” As soon as the words left my mouth he started rephrasing his “complement” and apologizing profusely, I just gave him my best “go do what I told you to do or I will feed you to a Manticore!” glare.

He quickly got up and went to the kitchen without another word.

I have him trained well.

“Thanks love,” I called after him, a smirk playing at my lips.

I got up from the couch and walked over to the window. I looked out it to see the busy streets of Diagon Alley.

I smiled.

“If we are going with my brilliant plan, then you should draft a letter to send to everyone,” Albus told me from the kitchen. I just rolled my eyes at his eagerness, eager for his parent’s gleeful congratulations on my pregnancy. I’m even looking forward to it, but I am not looking forward to my parents shocked faces of disappointment.

“I’ll get right on that!” I informed him as I made my way over to the writing desk that was located in the living room, on the wall behind the couch.

I pulled the hair tie off my wrist and put my blond locks into a messy bun, I was only wearing one of Albus’ old Slythrin T-shirts, and a pair of black leggings. I most likely looked like crap. But I like to think I can pull off looking like crap, Albus thinks I can. But I think he just likes that fact that I’m wearing one of his shirts.

I sat down on the uncomfortable, but pretty looking, chair and started drafting a letter.

Dear people

No I can’t write that!

Dear Family,

That’s better.

Myself and Albus have some exciting

No not exciting, that makes it sound stupid.

I and Albus have some interesting

That’s the word!

Myself and Albus have some interesting news, so we would like to invite you all to the Burrow on the 23rd of June for dinner. If you cannot make it just send me an owl and I’ll owl you the news.

Lots of love,

Isabella Delur and Albus Potter

I read it over on more time before I heard Albus entire the room, the smell of tea following him.

“Thanks, love,” I said as I took the tea from his hands. I smiled up at him, his black hair a mess as always. He smiled back at me, staring at me with his big green eyes. You could see everything he was feeling by looking into his eyes, love was what filled his eyes as he took my hand and gave it a soft kiss.

“Is that the letter?” He asked me.

“Mhmm” I nodded as I took a sip of my tea, letting the warm fluid flow down my throat.

He looked it over, chuckling a little as he read. It was short and to the point, like all my letters.

“Do you want to take it to the post? Or should I?” He asked me. Since my owl died last week I’ve been going into the ally to send all my letters. I thought for a moment, weighing the pros and cons of going out into the Alley. I would have to take a shower, get dressed, and do my hair and makeup.

“I’ll go,” I told him with a smile as I got up to go take a shower.

“Okay, I’ll floo over to the office while you’re gone. You’ll be fine going at Diagon Ally by yourself?” He asked, his eyes filled with worry. I rolled my eyes.

“Of course I’ll be fine; I’m pregnant, not inept!” I said flaring my arms around.

He smiled wrapped his arms around my waste, and pulled me into a deep, lingering kiss. Whispering In my ear, “I cannot wait to marry you.”

After taking a shower I put on a pair of denim shorts, a white tank top, and a pair of brown sandals. Applied some mascara, and a little eyeliner.

And if I do say so myself, I looked hot!

“I’m heading out love!” Albus called from outside the bathroom as he knocked on the door. I opened it and smiled at him.

“Okay, I’ll see you tomorrow?” I said kissing him on the cheek. Rose was coming back from America today, so we were going to have dinner at the Leaky Cauldron.

“Or you could come over tonight?” He suggested, wiggling his eyebrows, and started slowly trailing kisses down my neck.

“I can’t,” I sighed.

“Why not?” He said before his lips came crashing down on mine. It seemed like every time we kissed there was just so much passion in it. Even if it was just a peck, you could feel the passion, the love.

“I’m having dinner with Rose tonight to discuss how the convention went in America,” I said after I pulled out of the kiss. I smirked at the disappointed look on his face.

I know I’m a terrible person, taking joy in my Fiancés pain.

“Fine, ditch me for Rose! I always knew you two were secretly lesbians, and that one day you would leave me for her!” Albus joked. At least I’m pretty sure he was joking, sometimes it is just so hard to tell!

“Your right Al, I’m madly in love with Rose. I don’t know how you didn’t see this coming, it’s not like I’ve had sex with you and that I’m pregnant with your child.” I rolled my eyes. Sarcasm clearly stated in my voice.

“Your right, I’m way hotter than Rose.” He winks, “I should get going, bye love” He kisses me one last time before exiting the bedroom.

I sigh, smile, and finish getting ready.

Why is Diagon Ally always so damn busy! I can’t take a single step without ether bumping into someone, or someone bumping into me! It’s crazy I tell you!

That and you always run into people you know, actually more like people you never expect to run into.

That’s probably why I, literally, ran into James Potter the 2nd. You might be wondering why I would not expect to run into soon to be brother in-law. There really is no way to explain my relationship with James without me sounding like a slag. But I will try!

So it all started in my 6th year at Hogwarts, it was Albus’ 5th year (I’m like 5 months older than him). At the beginning of the year party that is held in the Room of Requirement, I got REALLY drunk and ended up sleeping with James. I know what you’re thinking, but just keep in mind that I was incredibly drunk! Yeah, so after we had drunk sex we agreed to be friends. Friends that have the occasional snog, but we never snogged if the other was in a relationship.  That and we talked, a lot. He was without a doubt one of my best friends.

But once we graduated from Hogwarts we really didn’t talk to each other, other than the occasional letter.  And then one day, me and my friend Holly went to this club and ran into Rose and Albus (that’s also how I became friends with Rose). Albus asked me out and I said yes.

But that is beside the point. The point is that James does not approve of my relationship with Albus; we never really discussed why he does not approve. But he doesn’t, approve that is.

Rose thinks it is because he is secretly in love with me, but I’m pretty sure that that’s not it.

Oh, and Albus is unaware of the fact that I snogged his brother for about 2 years. But he does know that I lost my virginity to James. Stupid truth or dare games causing me to spill secrets!

Anyway, back to me bumping into James.

“You okay?” He asks as he helps me up, I smile and nod.

“I’m fine, you?” I ask as he brushes the dirt off his blue jeans and white tee shirt. He guides me out of the crowd of shoppers, towards the Quidditch Supply shop.

“Good, what brings you out of your flat on this fine day?” He asks as he sits down on a bench, I follow his lead and sit down next to him.

“Mailing letters, actually I might as well give you yours now,” I say, reaching into my massager bag and pulling out the letters. I hand him one with a smile.

He takes it with a curios sparkle in his eyes. He quickly reads it, and then stuffs it in his pocket.

“So, what is this interesting news?” He asks me with a grin, poking my arm.

“You’ll just have to wait to find out this weekend,” I say with a wink. I stand up, getting ready to say good bye when he takes my hand in his.

“Are you guys calling off the engagement?” He asks with a calculating gaze. I just stare dumbfounded.

“Call of the wedding? That is so far from the truth I feel the need to whack you upon the head!” I explain, whacking him on the back of his head.

“Well then what is it?” He asks. He is now standing up as well, and if this goes on for much longer we will most likely start to attract attention. One of the reasons we aren’t that close of friends anymore is because we always argue. So I take a deep breath to calm myself down.

“I’m pregnant, you asshat!” I yell whisper, so the people passing by can’t hear.

“What?” it was his turn to stare dumbfounded.

“You heard me!” I blame the pregnancy hormones for this outburst of anger.

There was a pregnant silence (I really need to stop with the pregnant jokes).

“I’m sorry, I’m just shocked. You must be freaking out; your parents are going to be freaking out,” He pulls me into a hug, I hug him back. Because I am a little freaked out with the fact that there is a little person growing inside of me, and that I will be pushing that baby out of a very small hole. And it’s good to have a friend. “How did Al take it?” he asks as he pulled out of the hug.

“He took it wonderfully!” I explain with a smile! Because as freaked out as I am about having a kid, I’m excited.  I’m going to be a mum!

“I’m going to be an uncle, Uncle James,” He said with a smile, I laugh a little.

“Well I better be off I have to mail these letters, and then go back home finish some paper work, then I’m meeting Rose for dinner,” I said giving him a parting hug.

“Okay, if you need anything don’t be afraid to owl me,” He said into my hair.

“Roger that, I’ll see you around,” I said with a final wave as I made my way back into the crowd and towards the post office.
