I woke up on Saturday morning and lay in my bed for a while before I realized that I would have to get up to go to Hogsmeade at some point. I got out of bed and pulled on some jeans, a t-shirt and my incredibly warm jumper. Juno was not in bed so I just assumed that she was already down in the great hall waiting. I wandered downstairs and walked into the great hall, I made me way over to the boys who were as I suspected sitting with Juno. Someone caught my sight and I could just see them waving at me out of the corner of my eye. I turned and found Ronnie, the butterflies in my stomach growing
“Nice birds nest,” I heard a laugh from behind me
“Oh hush up Vik,” I said to my brother. He laughed and walked with me to the table were the boys and Juno were sitting
“Hey Viktor! How are you going?” Juno said as she bounded up to my brother and gave him a hug. Viktor had always been close with Juno, I think he liked her a little but they were more like brother and sister than anything. He hugged her back and said
“Nothing much Juno, the usual. How come you didn’t come to the quidditch world cup?” he asked. Earlier that year on break I went and watched my brother play in the quidditch world cup, the Weasley’s, Harry and Hermione went as well but Juno couldn’t come she was busy.
“Busy, parents dragged me to some pureblood elitist function. I have no idea why we were there, pure bloods piss me off,” Juno replied. Juno was a pureblood, she was somehow related to that fourth year Draco Malfoy, 3rd cousins twice removed or something, and they didn’t really talk much though her being a Gryffindor and all. She hated him anyway.
“Hey! I’m a pure blood you dipshit,” I said to Juno
“We are two!” Fred and George said together
“Dude, did you fail to realize that you’re a pureblood too, you fuckwit,” I laughed
“Okay don’t get so defensive. All purebloods but us can go suck it,” she laughed. A few Slytherins in our vicinity turned and shot her a glare but she just laughed it off. I admired Juno for that, she had no fear.
“Shall we go then lovelies?” Juno sang and sauntered out of the great hall. We were happily following Juno when Harry, Hermione and Ron came over to talk to Fred and George. I called out to Juno who was in her own little world and she came skipping back.
“Hello Ronny, what could we do for you?” Fred said
“Do you think he wants tips on getting with girls? I don’t think we can help him in that department. To ugly,” George laughed
“I was actually going to ask if you could lend me some money. Mum forgot to owl my allowance,” Ron asked
“Bugger off!” George said
“Break into Gringotts, do whatever but we can’t lend you money!” Fred said
“We both owe Juno and Magenta chocolates from Honeydukes,” George said
“And on top of that five galleons, from each of us!” Fred continued
“So in the short, we’re nearly broke,” George admitted
“Go beg Ginny. Oohh she’d probably say yes if Harry asked,” Fred laughed. Ron sighed knowing that it was a lost cause and the three walked away. I looked over to my brother who was staring after Hermione like she was the most beautiful thing in the world.
“Who was that?” he asked, his eyes wide
“That was Hermione granger,” I said simply
“She’s beautiful,” he said
“I don’t really know, she’s pretty, but I don’t see that much of her. Go talk to her at some point, she’s really smart, so try hold a conversation,” I laughed
“What are you trying to say?” he asked with a smile
“Exactly my point,” I laughed and he punched my shoulder.
“So, are you playing quidditch tomorrow?” Viktor asked me
“Yeah, are you coming to watch?”
“Of course! It will be the first time that I will see my little sister play competitively.” He smiled at me
“I’ll try to do you proud Vik,” I said
“You made me proud from the moment you made the team Ten. I’ve always been proud of you,” he said as he wrapped me in a giant bear hug. We all walked to Hogsmeade laughing at the twin’s jokes and watching Juno dance around without a care in the world. From time to time Viktor would mention something about Hermione and I would laugh at him for acting so love struck. We reached Hogsmeade and headed for The Three Broomsticks first so I could treat Viktor to his first British butter beer. Bulgarian butter beer was stronger than the British stuff, had more of the beer and less of the butter and cinnamon. We ordered and I paid for all of the orders
“Magenta. Let me pay for my own,” Viktor protested
“Nope, it’s on me. Take a leaf from Juno, Fred and George’s books, they’re not complaining,” I said to him
“Yeah because we know this is the only bloody thing you’ll buy us for the year,” Juno said
“You’re right there lovely,” I said laughing. We walked over to a table and the waitress brought our drinks over.
“Go one Viktor have a drink!” George said. Viktor brought the glass to his mouth and drank in long gulps
“It’s very sweet,” he said
“I know, that’s what I thought. But you get used to it,” I said. We drank our drinks and started walking through town.
“Oh, Fred, George,” I said
“Yeah?” the both said simultaneously
“Mum owled me. Wants to know if you want to come to Bulgaria for the two week break?” I asked
“We’ll have to owl mum but that sounds amazing! Never been to Romania,” Fred said with an excited tone in his voice.
I woke up on Sunday morning to Juno’s alarm going off at 6 in the morning. I groaned and crawled under my covers pulling my blanket over my head
“Get out of bed you lazy sod,” Juno said
“No!” I exclaimed adamant at not getting out of bed
“Quidditch today lovely, and remember you have that bet with Ronnie,” she said in a sing song type of voice. I sat up straight and started at her with wide eyes
“How did you know about that?” I asked
“Fred and George you ninny. You know they can’t keep something like that a secret,” she laughed. I managed to peal myself out of bed and I walked towards the bathroom
“Don’t bother getting in the shower, you smell like roses and sparkles and you’re just going to get sweaty during quidditch anyway,” Juno said as she shoved me out of the bathroom. My dorm mates Angelina Johnson and Esme McKinnon were still asleep. They were both on the quidditch team as well; Juno was the odd one out. As much as I love her that girl doesn’t have co-ordination to save her life, she loves the sport, just can’t stay on a broom. She only got up this early to make sure I was never late for a match. I liked have a fly around the pitch before everyone went down to set up and the only way I could do that is if I got up super early. I opened my wardrobe and got changed into clean underwear, a white tank top with the Gryffindor lion on the front and my number on the back. I was number 13, my lucky number. I put on some black sports shorts and my runners and I knocked on the bathroom door. I told Juno that I was going down to the pitch and she told me she’d meet me there soon.
I exited the dorm and walked to out to the pitch, the air was slightly chilly and it was still dark. I got to the pitch, walked through the gate and headed to the Gryffindor change rooms. I got out my broom from my locker and headed out to the pitch. I mounted my broom and flew up into the air. I did a few laps around the pitch; I was on my third lap when I saw a figure with black hair dressed in black come through the pitch gate. I flew down behind the person and when I recognized who it was I nearly fell of my broom. It was Ronnie. I got up some courage and put my face close to his ear
“Boo,” I whispered. He jumped about six feet in the air
“Magenta! You fucking scared me!” he exclaimed
“Yeah well, think you would have seen my pink hair flying around the pitch. By the way, what are you doing here?” I asked
“Could say the same for you,” he smirked
“Actually I was just leaving; I always come up here before a game. Give me a bit to warm up,” I smiled
“See you on the pitch later then,”
“Yeah, prepare to lose, snake,” I said before flying back to the change rooms. I put my broom away and took the short cut out the back door that lead to the Gryffindor common room. Fred and George were sitting in the couch as I emerged from the shortcut that came out of the side of the fireplace.
“Where were you little missy?” George asked
“Nowhere,” I said
“Nowhere! How dare she lie to us Georgie! I thought we were better friends than that!” Fred said with quite a dramatic flair
“Fine, I was at the pitch doing a few laps. Being my best friends I thought you would have known I love to do warm up laps before the game,” I said as I plonked myself down next to Fred.
“Oh we do. We also happen to know that most warm up laps you don’t do with a certain Slytherin,” Fred said
“How did you know that?” I questioned. Unless they were down at the pitch there was probably no way they could have known… wait
“Being our best friends you would have thought you would’ve remembered we have a perfect view of the pitch from our dorm window!” George said
“I remembered. It just slipped my mind,” I said leaning my head back onto the red leather couch. My stomach made a rather loud growling noise and if I wasn’t sitting with two of the Weasley brothers I probably would have been embarrassed. Fred just laughed and said
“Come on George, I think we need to get this one some breakfast,”
“I think your right Fred, can’t have our best chaser going hungry! Especially when this day is so big for her! Gryffindor has to win.” George replied
“Why does Gryffindor have to win?” I asked
“Because first off, it would look bad if you didn’t kick ass in front of your brother,” George said
“Second of all, have you forgotten a deal you had with a certain Slytherin?” Fred finished
“You’re right. But let’s go I need breakfast,” we headed out of the common room and George walked a little in front of me. I waited until he had walked a few steps in front of me then I took a run up and jumped on his back so he was piggy backing me.
“Oi!” George exclaimed
“Hey, if you want me to kick ass today then shouldn’t you be letting me rest my poor legs?” I said with a smirk
“Fine, but I’m dumping you on your ass as soon as we get to the table,” he laughed. I laughed as well and said
“Yes?” He asked
“Have you seen Juno?”
“Nope, I’m guessing she’s at breakfast already,” He shrugged. We entered the great hall and walked to the Gryffindor table. Sure enough Juno was sitting there having a conversation with my brother
“Hey Juno!” I said from George’s back. I lifted my hand to wave and the next thing I knew I was in my brother’s arms
“Nice catch Vik,” I laughed.
“No problem Ten, didn’t want you hurt on the big day,” he said as he sat me down next to him. I scoffed down my breakfast; I always ate more when I was excited for a big match. When everyone was finished and people were still sitting down gossiping, I took it upon myself to stand on the table and say
“Hello everyone!” I got muttered hello’s a few get of the bloody tables, but those mostly came from the people within the vicinity that didn’t really know me
“I would like to say, that I hope Slytherin gets pounded into the ground. They will but you know I just give them luck on not breaking any limbs,” I waited a minuet and added
“Actually. I really hope they do break some limbs. I mean come on, who doesn’t?” I laughed and stepped down from the table. Everyone was laughing and some people even clapping
“Very incredible speech Magenta,” Fred laughed
“I really like the part about the breaking limbs,” George added.
“I think you lot better head down to the pitch,” Juno said as she pushed me off of my chair. Fred and George got up and we raced each other down to the pitch, we walked into the change rooms and parted at the hallways which lead to the girls changing room if you walked right and the boys if you walked left. When I entered the girl’s room everyone was already in there
“Where have you been missy?” Angelina asked
“Breakfast with the boys, Juno and my brother,” I said non chalontley
“Saw your speech at breakfast. Also noticed that Rickett couldn’t take his eyes off of you,” Katie laughed from a few lockers down. I blushed
“I’m so gonna beat his arse into the ground today,” I smirked
“Either way, you get a date with him,”
“How did you know that?” I exclaimed
“Twins,” Katie and Angelina chorused together. When we were ready we walked to the meeting room and we walked out onto the field as a team. We took our positions and mounted our brooms. We were 20 minutes into the game and 40 points ahead when Ronnie flew up beside me with the quaffle
“Looks like your winning Magenta,”
“Looks like it Ronnie,” I smirked. I was about to shove him off his broom when I was engulfed in darkness.
