My eyes flutter open. The first thing I can see through the blurriness is white. White, white, white.

I turn my head and blink, trying to adjust to the light and my eyes landing on Scorpius, who is sitting grumpily in the bed next to mine.

I blink at him and he raises an eyebrow, a sour expression on his face. “What’s with you?” I ask dazedly.

He rolls his eyes. “They won’t let us out of here yet.”

“It’s bloody annoying,” another voice agrees from the other side of me. I blink and turn to see Rose, sitting up on the bed to my left, her bruise healed, a small scar just above her eye.

I tilt my head, looking at it, trying to recall where she could have gotten that, but she shakes her head and informs me, “Glass.”

My eyes widen and I turn to look at Scorpius, who (how did I not notice before?) has a long scar that suddenly stands out, starting at around his forehead and moving down to his cheek. I then look at my arms, staring in surprise at the long scars twisting around them. I swallow at this and Scorpius sighs.

“Kind of my fault,” he admits after a moment. “I probably should’ve cast a shield charm.”

I roll my eyes. “It happened too fast,” I say tiredly. “Besides, it’s not like it’s the end of the world. It kind of just shows bravery,” I muse, looking down at my arms again.

At this, Scorpius laughs. “Hooray for us non-Gryffindors showing off our bravery. Who says Slytherins are all slimy gits?”

Rose giggles slightly, and Scorpius winks at her, causing her face to turn bright red. I smirk at that. Rose glares this time, and I know I’m going to pretty much receive a beating for this one later.

I groan as I sit up and ask, “Where’s everybody else?”

Scorpius blinks. “What do you mean?”

“Uh, well… Your father and my dad, and the rest of my family and…”

Scorpius’s jaw tightens and his voice is full of hatred and furry as he hisses, “My father is in Azkaban. Where he belongs.”

I tilt my head at him and say, “But he saved my life. He shouldn’t be…”

Scorpius has stopped listening and Rose cuts in with, “Uncle Harry is asleep over there,” she nods her head to a closed set of curtains and then continues with, “and they haven’t called anybody else yet.” Then she scowls and says, “But you two have a lot of explaining to do.”

I bite my lip and glance at Scorpius, who has finally seemed to calm down enough to act rationally.

We stare at each other, and then look at Rose sheepishly.

She’s still glaring of course, which leaves us to explain. I look to Scorpius, but he just stares back at me, his eyes saying, your turn. I glower, causing him to smirk at me playfully.

After a short moment I launch into a whole explanation about what happened, how it started, how much guessing it really took… Scorpius pipes up every once and a while with forgotten information.

After the tale is over, Rose sits there, looking stunned. Anger flashes through her eyes and she turns to us, demanding, “And you didn’t tell me? I could’ve helped you, you gits!”

“I didn’t want you to get hurt,” Scorpius mutters, and I turn to him, feeling my jaw drop wide open.

Wait, it was my choice not to tell anyone. Is Scorpius taking the blame? Or… Does he actually mean that?

From the look in his eyes as he watches her, he probably means that.

Rose blinks at him, and then turns a furious red, turning quickly to gaze out the window. I wink suggestively at Scorpius, to which he responds by glaring and grumbling under his breath, “Oh, back off, you prat.” which makes me laugh even harder.

Scorpius looks away, shaking his head in annoyance, but I can tell he’s not really mad at me in the least.

And then I can hear voices coming from the hallway. I glance towards the door, seeing Rose and Scorpius do the same in time to hear mum’s panicked voice, saying rather angrily, “My son is in there.” There’s another quiet voice, probably a healer, to whom mum responds with, “Go to hell.”

I choke on my laughter, trying to hold it back, and wind up turning red in the face. Oh, mum…

After another short statement the door flies open to reveal mum, Lily, James, Teddy, Louis, Hugo, Uncle Ron, Aunt Hermione…

All of my family tries to crowd into the small room.

Not such a good idea.

I raise an eyebrow at this, but James is the only one to notice. James somehow ends up at my side, sitting next to me, while everyone else argues. I laugh softly and look to James, who questions just with his eyes: are you okay?

I nod, smiling at him.

Mum and Lily spot me and rush up to me, wrapping me in tight hugs. Other people go talk to Rose.

Everyone else just stares at Scorpius in confusion, who looks awkwardly down at his hands, biting his lip.

“What happened?” Mum asks after a short moment. “Kingsley said he found you three in the ministry.”

I bite my lip. “Er… Mum…”

“What?” She asks, glaring slightly at me.

I stand up off the bed shakily, ignoring James’s protests and walk over to the curtains. My eyes seek out Scorpius, who smiles softly, encouragingly at me.

I wrap my hand around the curtain and, taking a deep breath, gasp out, “We found dad.”

There is a stunned silence and I fling the curtain open, revealing a tattered and tired looking Harry Potter sleeping soundly, swathed in white blankets.

My eyes find James first. He’s staring at me, his eyes flickering down to dad, sparkling so intensely I almost have to look away. He beams at me, his face saying all that I need to know.

Tears fill Lily’s eyes, but she’s smiling so big I don’t think she cares.

Mum has begun to cry softly, laughing at the same time, wrapping her arms around her middle as if to hold herself together, whispering softly, “Harry. Oh, oh, Harry.”

Teddy is laughing to himself, staring at me in awe, looking amazed every time he looks down at dad.

Uncle Ron is simply gaping.

Aunt Hermione continuously blinks, first at Scorpius and I, then at my dad. Then she repeats. It looks quiet comical.

I think everyone else is still in shock.

I bite my lip and finally mutter, “Ta dah,” throwing my arms out in a big motion. Scorpius snorts as Rose giggles slightly, and I roll my eyes at them.

“Wha—how?” Uncle Ron flounders.

After a moment I say, “Er…” I look at Scorpius again, who just shakes his head, smirking slightly. I know he feels completely out of place among my family and is trying not to show it, so I don’t question. But I have no idea where to start. I shrug helplessly, and he smiles. I don’t think anyone misses the exchange, but nobody mentions it.

So, I launch into the story again, and Scorpius quietly reminds me of things I’ve forgotten at places.

There is a long pause after we finish, but then James stands up and walks over to Scorpius. They stare at each other (James softly, Scorpius in surprise) for a moment before James pulls Scorpius in for a tight hug.

I blink at this, and I can see Scorpius doing the same. Whatever James murmurs in Scorpius’s ear makes him relax.

James pulls back, smiling at the young Malfoy. I look down at my hands, smiling softly, and Scorpius gives James a small grin back, a peaceful look crossing his face.

“Does it seem weird to you?” Scorpius asks later as we sit in the hospital beds, neither of us able to fall asleep. Everyone else left sometime earlier, and dad is still asleep. Rose seems to have fallen into a peaceful slumber too.

“Does what seem weird?” I ask, shooting Scorpius a glance, turning away from the window where I’m watching the sun set and the sky turn dark.

He tilts his head slightly and finally says, “That it’s all really over. I mean, we got your dad back…”

I glance at my dad and then look up at Scorpius. “You know what,” I say. “A little. But I don’t think anything can really be over for good, you know? At the very least we’ll still remember it.”

I look at Scorpius, smiling slightly, and he smiles back.

With a content sigh I settle back into the pillows on my bed, know that, at least for the moment, everything is going to be okay.

A/N: Wow. It’s over (sort of). :’( Thank you to all of you who stuck around the whole time to read the story. And for all of you who reviewed every chapter- you made my day. Seriously.

Anyhow, the first chapter of Time will probably be up in a few weeks.

Does anyone want a preview for Time? *raises hand* Maybe other than me… Here… Let’s see…

“Are you mad at me?” I ask, following behind him. He seems to freeze and turns to look at me.

After a moment he shakes his head and says, “I’m not.” I frown and Scorpius suddenly looks ashamed. “It’s just… You’ve got your life back, and it’s almost like mine has fallen into pieces.” I feel my brow furrow, and he looks up at me with sad silver eyes. “My mum’s dead. My dad’s in jail. You’ve got your dad back.” He shrugs.

Please review. :)
